The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 671: Chapter 269 My Mother-in-law is a Loyal Servant (Part 13)_2

Moreover, Mrs. Zhang’s patience with her servant was truly lacking.

Or perhaps, it could be said that they were shamelessly bold!

Originally, He Tiantian had expected it would take at least a month or two before they would start plotting against her.

Unexpectedly, it had only been a few days and they could not sit still any longer.

Nevertheless, it did not matter to her anymore; early or late made no difference.

Even if Nanny Zhao and her group did not actively find a concubine for Feng Zhongliang, He Tiantian would have found a way to get one for him.

After all, in He Tiantian’s plan, Feng Zhongliang’s ”concubine” also played a part.

So, when evening came, Nanny Zhao, leading Shuang Jiang and putting on a show, came before He Tiantian and Feng Zhongliang and said, ”The Marchioness is concerned for you both, so she thought of having Shuang Jiang serve you.”

Feng Zhongliang was completely stunned, staring blankly at Shuang Jiang’s beautiful features.

Feng Zhongliang, honest as he was, was still a man.

And men, well, are always prone to lust.

Moreover, Shuang Jiang was no ordinary maid; she was the favored person by the Marchioness’s side, more honorable in the Marquis Mansion than ordinary masters.

Clad in silk and fed on the finest meals, she possessed an air of nobility.

If she changed her clothes and walked outside, claiming to be the lady of a wealthy household, people would believe her.

The ”Gu Xiuniang” was also a refined beauty, but she paled in comparison to Shuang Jiang.

Shuang Jiang was like a noble rose of the human world, while ”Gu Xiuniang” was more like the delicate flower of a humble family.

In the past, when the Marquis Mansion was prosperous, Shuang Jiang was almost regarded as an Eldest Miss, and Feng Zhongliang, although the sole son of Nanny Zhao, dared not think of her lightly.

But now—

Swoosh!

Feng Zhongliang couldn’t help but swallow his saliva, his heart pounding fiercely.

However, Feng Zhongliang wasn’t completely blinded by beauty.

After a brief moment of stun, he cautiously turned to see He Tiantian’s expression.

He Tiantian, however, was not annoyed; in fact, she seemed rather pleased, ”Great! I’ve been worried about needing more help at home!”

”I’ve been thinking about bringing the Eldest Miss over to study with Yanting.”

”After all, the Eldest Miss is the Marquis’s only legitimate daughter, and my family has also been deeply indebted to the Marquis.”

”The Marquis is currently missing, and the Marchioness is in poor health, certainly not in the state to look after the Eldest Miss, I thought of bringing her over.”

”But, I have to work, do embroidery, and look after Yanting and my husband, I really can’t spare the time!”

”If Miss Shuang Jiang could come, that would really be a great help—”

He Tiantian spoke with genuine emotion.

But Nanny Zhao, biased against ”Gu Xiuniang,” began to suspect.

She frowned slightly, silently repeating He Tiantian’s words over and over in her mind.

Finally, she reached a conclusion and whispered to Mrs. Zhang, ”What a cunning woman Gu Xiuniang is!”

”She doesn’t really want Shuang Jiang to serve Zhongliang, but she fears that rejecting directly might lead me to scold her for being ’jealous,’ so she purposely uses the Yuanniang girl as a scapegoat!”

”She plans to use Yuanniang to control us.”

”Even if she can’t control us, she wants to disgust and threaten us!”

”What favors does the Marquis owe to the Gu Family? She wants to take good care of Yuanniang as a way to repay the debt?”

”Ha! She’s just making the Marchioness uncomfortable, thinking of keeping Yuanniang under her thumb to negotiate with us.”

”...Hmph, thinks she’s so clever!”

Mrs. Zhang, after hearing Nanny Zhao’s words, frowned.

No one likes to be manipulated, especially not someone like Mrs. Zhang who once held a high status.

But then, thinking about Wei Yuanniang’s background, Mrs. Zhang couldn’t suppress a cold scoff, ”Nanny, you’re right, Mrs. Gu really is a foolishly clever fool!”

”She wants to use Yuanniang as a leverage to add trouble for me, little does she know, the girl she’s scheming over is her own daughter!”

”Hmph, agree to it, just send that wretched girl next door, I want to see how Mrs. Gu ’repays her favor’!”

Thus, two more people were added to Feng Zhongliang’s courtyard.

Shuang Jiang was nominally there as a maid, not a formal concubine.

Unfortunately, Feng Zhongliang was a commoner and in ancient times, common folk were not entitled to have concubines.

At most, he could buy a maid who would work in the day and warm his bed at night.

However, He Tiantian still very ”virtuously” arranged a small room for Shuang Jiang, usually having her wash clothes and cook; she rarely had her do other chores.
