Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 638: Chapter 32: The Pursuit

Even with his fast speed, Feitan did not gain any advantage in close combat but got slashed twice by Su Xiao. In the end, he had to take a risk, unleash his big move, and then escape.

If it weren’t for those gang members opening fire, Feitan would definitely have died in the end. This was proven in the battle, as pig teammates really do drag you down.

According to Su Xiao’s estimation, except for battling the group leader, the other main combat forces in the corps are no match for him. In a 1V1 situation, he has an 80% chance of winning. In a 1V2 situation, as long as he doesn’t face two of the top strong members like Feitan and Nobunaga at the same time, Su Xiao has more than a 50% chance of winning.

The only thing Su Xiao is worried about is, if the troupe launches a massive attack on the Ten Old Men’s forces, he wouldn’t be able to stop them.

Leaving the basement, Su Xiao arrived at the ground level, met by rolling waves of heat.

”Bubu.”

Su Xiao shouted, and before long, a silly yet adorable creature covered in black ash came running. Seeing Bubu Wang in such a state, even Su Xiao couldn’t help but laugh aloud.

Bubu Wang wasn’t roasted by the small sun. It had fallen into a pile of ash on the way, which resulted in its current appearance. If not for Su Xiao’s keen eyesight, he would have hardly noticed Bubu Wang in the dark night.

Bubu Wang’s big eyes looked even more watery, and it shook its body in displeasure, causing a plume of black smoke to rise.

”Can you smell that guy’s scent?”

Bubu Wang sniffed the air and finally shook its head. The charred smell around was too overpowering to detect Feitan’s scent.

”Seems like it’s hopeless...”

Suddenly, Su Xiao thought of an ability he hadn’t used for a long time, which was using the Blue Steel Shadow Energy inside the enemy as a coordinate to track them. Once, Red Eye was hunted down to the point of questioning life because of this move.

Blue steel shadow energy emerged in Su Xiao’s palm, eventually forming into an energy orb.

If it were the former Blue Steel Shadow, it would be absolutely impossible to track down Feitan who had already escaped far. But the current Blue Steel Shadow is as high as Level 26.

The light blue energy orb floated, and Su Xiao focused intensely on sensing. Within ten minutes, he had slashed Feitan once, and more or less, some blue steel shadow energy would remain in Feitan’s body.

After a dozen seconds, Su Xiao opened his eyes, and a smile appeared on his face.

”Found you.”

Stepping on the ground beneath, Su Xiao disappeared from his original spot.

...

Southeast corner of Yukexin City, inside a residential house.

The house was filled with a pungent smell of blood, a dead body laying against the sofa, with three more on the floor.

On the sofa, there was a corpse of a young man. On the floor were twin girls of similar age and a young woman. The twin girls were fair and delightful in appearance.

Sadly, they had become corpses, their throats mercilessly cut. Before that, they went through something even more despairing—witnessing their parents’ tragic deaths with their own eyes.

The man on the sofa had fought desperately to protect his family but unfortunately, he lacked the power and died tragically. Meanwhile, the young woman also died while fiercely protecting the twin sisters, her head severed.

Feitan sat in a chair, blood dripping from his fingertips, unable to distinguish whose blood it was.

”Not good, the injury is too severe. That guy should be dead even if hiding underground, damn it, is his close combat ability superior to mine?”

Feitan tore off his bullet-ridden clothes, his body riddled with bullet holes. Numerous bullets were embedded within, yet he dared not remove them now, fearing death from excessive blood loss.

”The guy the leader instructed to get rid of has been slaughtered, but the body should be charred, giving me a headache.”

Remembering that Contractor, Feitan couldn’t help but sneer. Their leader had long planned to find an opportunity at the auction to kill that guy and then leave the body there to frame someone else, thus diverting attention.

The intelligence of the troupe leader is high, arranging all subsequent matters meticulously. Unfortunately, Su Xiao appeared suddenly and disrupted the troupe leader’s plan.

After a short rest, Feitan regained some strength. It seemed easy to kill this family, but every slash tormented his wounds.

Feitan picked up a blood-stained phone by his side, just about to call for help when a familiar aura entered his perception range.

”How... how is this possible!”

Suddenly, Feitan’s jaw clenched, his face full of disbelief.

”Chased after me? Haha...”

For some reason, Feitan laughed. The phone in his hand cracking from his grip.

Bam!

The house door shattered, wood fragments flying. A ’black dog’ walked into the house, apparently very angry, glaring intently at Feitan upon entering.

”Is it based on scent?”

Upon seeing Bubu Wang, Feitan considered this possibility. But once he saw the light blue energy orb float into the room, he understood clearly what was going on.

”Ah... it’s a tracking function.”

Su Xiao walked into the room, glanced at Feitan sitting in the chair, and said nothing as he approached Feitan with a knife in hand.

”Haven’t had dinner yet, what did I have for lunch today?”

Feitan posed in thought as a long knife slashed down. He didn’t defend, nor even tried to stand up.

At this moment, Feitan was exhausted and desolate, unable to counterattack and struggling even to stand. Rather than pleading or scrambling miserably, Feitan chose to face death with dignity.

With a squirt, blood gushed out. Feitan’s head flew up with no fear on his face, seemingly genuinely pondering what he had for lunch, as it was, after all, his last meal.

”Finally caught you.”

A smile appeared on Su Xiao’s face. This was his usual style—never wasting words before killing the enemy. If he had anything to say, he’d say it to the corpse because letting the enemy escape due to empty talk would be too foolish for him to accept.

With a thud, Feitan’s head landed on the ground.

[You have killed Feitan]

[Feitan was a Phantom Troupe member, gaining 7.6% World Source, now a total of 22.3% World Source obtained.]

[Your Talent ’Soul Eater’ activated, permanently increasing Mana by 14 points (originally 15 points, but with the world-specific extreme value cap of 100 points, only 14 points can be added), current Mana value 1683 points.]

[You obtained Treasure Box (Dark Purple).]

[Due to killing a Troupe member, Phantom Troupe reputation +100, gaining eligibility to join the Troupe.]

...

Gaining World Source, Mana, and a treasure box from killing Feitan didn’t surprise Su Xiao, but the +100 Troupe reputation and eligibility to join the Troupe were quite speechless.

Su Xiao understood the Phantom Troupe’s information. The condition for joining the troop is quite odd—replacing someone by killing them, or the Troupe leader recruiting new members when understaffed.

If Su Xiao wanted to join the Troupe, he could take Feitan’s head to find them. If rumors were true, the Troupe leader Chrollo Lucilfer might accept him.

Regarding whether other members would accept, it’s not necessary to consider, as internal disputes within the Troupe are prohibited, and any disagreements are resolved by tossing a coin.

Killing someone to replace them, thinking of this, Su Xiao shook his head. He didn’t understand Chrollo Lucilfer’s way of thinking. In his personal view, it’s an incredibly stupid rule, so he wouldn’t take the head to find the Troupe. Only an idiot would attempt such a thing.

No instance proves that this is true, and the Reincarnation Paradise prompt only indicates gaining eligibility, not certainty of joining.

What if it’s a trap set by Chrollo Lucilfer? With that guy’s intelligence and treacherousness, it’s not impossible for such a scenario.

Su Xiao picked up Feitan’s head, wrapped it in a piece of broken cloth, peeled off the skin with the Troupe number on the headless corpse, and turned to leave the room. These two items would be useful.

With a daily benefit of 5 Soul Crystals (Medium), he would not join the Troupe.
