Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 614: Chapter 8: Cannon

A train sped down the tracks, startling several antelopes nearby. One of them was unusual; instead of running away, it stared directly at the moving train.

Two seconds later, the antelope charged headfirst into the train. With a bang, blood splattered, and its twisted body crashed near the tracks.

...

Eleven hours into the journey, inside the carriage, Su Xiao suddenly opened his eyes from a nap.

He sat up with a whoosh, feeling a sudden anxiety as if an invisible hand was gripping his heart.

Thump, thump, thump...

His heart raced as his pupils contracted, warning him of impending danger, no—someone had aimed a long-range weapon at him, causing this intuition.

He immediately pulled up the sleeping Bubu Wang, who looked bewildered but, upon seeing Su Xiao’s expression, instantly went into combat mode, sniffing the air for suspicious scents—a harmony honed over time.

”Let’s move.”

Dragon Slash appeared in his hand as Su Xiao slashed open the side of the carriage, leaping out.

Emily watched in stunned silence, petrified with fear.

Su Xiao’s action threw the carriage into chaos as howling winds rushed in.

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang barked at Emily before jumping out, leaving her puzzled.

”What is this?”

Kenny’s expression soured.

”Brother, that dog signaled me to leave the train.”

”Can you understand it?”

”Yes, it’s clever and expresses itself through looks.”

Kenny, hearing his sister, glanced again at the hole in the carriage before deciding to carry her out.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions erupted, shaking the train violently. Kenny had already considered leaving, and with the explosions, he leaped out instantly.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fireballs erupted from the explosions, with thick smoke billowing into the sky, blowing the train apart.

The train shattered mid-air, the tracks twisting from the blast, showing the sheer power of the explosion.

Carnage scattered around the tracks, with raging fires burning.

”Beautiful fireworks.”

A man in a purple suit stood before the burning wreckage, inhaling deeply the unique scent of charred bodies.

”Life, in bloom.”

The purple-suited man raised his arms, a procession of distorted faces of deceased train passengers materializing in the air.

”Come, if you hate me, take my body. I’ll give you a chance. Fail, and become my nourishment; it’s a fair game.”

Hundreds of faces lunged at him, making the man and woman beside him instinctively step back.

”No matter how many times I see it, it sends chills down my spine.”

The woman spoke, heavily made-up, with a sparrow perched on her shoulder.

”Don’t blabber, or the boss will get angry.”

The man spoke, burly and dark-skinned, with a horn reminiscent of a rhino’s on his head.

”Demoness, Rhino, it’s impolite to casually discuss others.”

The man in the suit turned his head, his expressions flickering, as if multiple consciousnesses battled for control.

Moments later, his face calmed, and he belched.

”A grand feast.”

The man in the suit was the Red Clown, having intercepted Su Xiao’s whereabouts by some means, setting an ambush.

”Boss, that guy got away.”

Demoness spoke, with the sparrow on her shoulder chirping intensely, seemingly conveying information.

”No matter, hiring someone for 60,000 Paradise coins, if Mr. Hunter escapes easily, the Travel Group is disappointing, for she’s a top-tier cannon in the Second Tier!”

The Red Clown’s words barely settled before a gunshot echoed.

The shot triggered a chain reaction, with gunfire following in quick succession.

”Is that woman using an automatic rifle?”

Rhino was surprised by the continuous gunfire.

”No, it’s a sniper cannon, around 30mm caliber!”

Demoness’s expression was off; such rapid gunfire seemed implausible even for a sniper cannon, let alone an automatic rifle—wasn’t she afraid of an explosion?

”Let’s proceed to welcome our ’Guests’.”

...

Meanwhile, in a wasteland half a kilometer from the train wreckage.

Piercing whistles persisted.

Clang, sparks flew as blade met bullet.

Su Xiao cleaved a bullet aimed at his head, clearly seeing the bullet’s absurd size, which was more akin to a small shell.

Bang!

The split bullet vanished into the soil, sending up grass fragments.

If it was one or two bullets, no matter, but they fired at a frenetic rate; fortunately, their velocity was less extreme than the Spider Queen’s projectiles.

Even so, the sheer number of bullets was overwhelming.

After deflecting dozens of bullets, Su Xiao’s right arm numbed—such strain was unsustainable as even Dragon Slash couldn’t endure such high-intensity cleaves; the bullet impact was staggering.

Su Xiao knew the enemy’s location, a kilometer away, revealed by the dense gunfire.

Yet he couldn’t advance; the area seemed entrenched with dozens of cannons bombarding relentlessly.

Who could be attacking him? Who but the Red Clown?

With superhuman physique, Su Xiao dodged a bullet that whizzed past his ear.

The aching in his right arm constantly warned him: bullets must not be cleaved anymore.

An energy shield appeared before Su Xiao, holding 300 points of strength.

Bang, bang, bang...

Bullets ricocheted off the energy shield, emitting a faint blue glow without any damage.

Though the shield blocked the bullets, their impact force remained, forcing Su Xiao back a few steps.

After enduring bombardments for seconds, gunfire abruptly halted, and Su Xiao’s legs had sunk into the soil.

Su Xiao took a deep breath, signaling Bubu Wang to stay hidden and act on his cue.

Bubu Wang disappeared with a whoosh. Did it flee? Of course not; Bubu Wang was camouflaged in nearby shrubbery, ready for Su Xiao’s command.

Mere seconds after the gunfire ceased, a missile whistled towards Su Xiao.

From afar, he saw the missile, at least a meter long, graffitied with a shark mouth design.

Before the missile could land, Su Xiao’s arm muscles tensed, unleashing a Blade Aura.

Clang.

The Blade Aura cleaved the missile in two; unexpectedly, it began to split into dozens of smaller missiles.

Boom, boom, boom...

Explosions roared deafeningly, with Su Xiao barricading himself behind the energy shield, legs wedged into the soil.

A kilometer away on a hill, a sniper rifle over three meters long was mounted, its barrel alone measuring two meters.

Behind the sniper, a girl squatted, observing through the scope.

”Impressive, no wonder the clown’s willing to pay 60,000 for me.”

She chuckled softly, her rare blue hair tied into twin pigtails sprawled on the ground, each at least 1.5 meters long.
