Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 609: Chapter 3: The Infected

Just as the Corpse froze for a moment, Su Xiao on the rooftop of the building across the street switched his aim, the crosshair in the scope aligned with the Corpse’s torso.

The power of the Spider Queen is so astonishing that even Su Xiao himself feels quite surprised.

The initial test results show that when sniping enemies, it’s unnecessary to aim for the head; targeting the torso is the best choice.

For one thing, the torso is much larger than the head. When an enemy is shattered, it brings a strong deterrent to other enemies, like the current Corpse.

As a violator who has long wandered in Reincarnation Paradise, the Corpse has seen corpses before, and he has seen gruesome deaths, but he’s never seen someone like Number 5 perish so neatly.

Stunned for only 0.5 seconds, the Corpse flung Number 5’s head aside, raised his right arm, and slammed his elbow against the car door.

With a bang, the passenger-side car door flew off. As it flew off, the Corpse leaped out of the car, using the door to shield his body.

Su Xiao slightly adjusted his aim, waited for the right moment, and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

A blast wave spread from the Spider Queen’s gun barrel, blowing through Su Xiao’s full head of black hair.

The bullet shot out, creating layers of blast waves.

The moment the Corpse landed, a terrifying sense of crisis appeared.

With a splat!

A pale yellow fluid splattered, and the Corpse burst open like a water balloon, splattering onto the road.

Seeing this through the scope, Su Xiao’s brow furrowed. Although the Corpse was ’shattered,’ no kill prompt appeared.

The puddle of pale yellow fluid gradually gathered and rose, eventually forming a humanoid shape.

The cracks on the Corpse’s skin became more apparent as he turned his head to look at a rooftop across the street, a strange smile appearing on his face.

”Trying to kill me, wishful thinking...”

Just as the Corpse’s words fell, a dull sound came from the rooftop across the street.

Before hearing this sound, a 17.36mm bullet had already penetrated the Corpse’s chest and abdomen, causing him to burst into a puddle of liquid once more.

This made the Corpse realize one thing: at close range, he felt the bullet pierce his body first before he heard the gunshot.

With a splat, the Corpse, who had burst into a puddle of yellow liquid, did not restore his form again, and Su Xiao noticed something wrong with the surrounding situation.

Within three hundred meters, there were no screams or chatter. Under normal circumstances, after a shooting incident, nearby civilians would certainly react.

The current situation is very strange. Within a three-hundred-meter radius centered on the Corpse, all civilians stood still, unmoving.

This is a bustling area, with at least hundreds of people within three hundred meters.

Right at this moment, uniform footsteps were heard, and the nearby civilians actually started moving towards the Corpse’s vicinity. In less than half a minute, a total of 176 civilians stood on the road.

These people were dressed differently, their expressions dull, and their heads were lowered.

On the street, the puddle of pale yellow fluid churned as the Corpse’s body restored once again.

”Kill him.”

The Corpse raised his withered arm, and at the same time as he gave the order, more than a hundred civilians simultaneously raised their heads, their eyes staring straight at Su Xiao.

If you looked closely, you’d find that these civilians’ pupils were clouded and brownish-yellow, and their deathly pale skin was a sign they had been dead for some time.

”Roar!!”

All the civilians let out beast-like roars. These people seemed to become beasts, their muscles bulging, their fingertips turning sharp.

More than a hundred civilians charged almost simultaneously, crossing the road and climbing the vertical walls with their sharp claws, quickly surrounding the rooftop where Su Xiao was located.

A vehicle drove into the three hundred meter radius of the Corpse, the driver laughing and chatting with the lady in the passenger seat.

Suddenly, the lady showed a painful expression, her mouth wide open as if she was unable to breathe.

Moments later, the lady lowered her head and nimbly slipped out of the car. Her pupils had already turned brownish-yellow.

The driver looked shocked, and suddenly, he also showed a painful expression. Seconds later, those black pupils turned brownish-yellow.

The man and woman joined the group of civilians, charging towards Su Xiao’s location.

On the rooftop, Su Xiao put away the Spider Queen. A Mechanical Eye flew out from his sleeve as he needed to find out the current situation.

The Eye of the Apostle floated in mid-air, but Su Xiao did not investigate the Corpse’s information; instead, he examined the data of those civilians.

[Comparing both parties’ Intelligence Attributes..., comparison complete. Our Intelligence is 27.5 times that of the enemy’s, acquiring 100% of the enemy’s data.]

The data is as follows:

Name: Infected Ⅳ Type (Mutant Corpse)

Life Value: 93%

Mana Value: 20/20

Power: 32

Agility: 21

Stamina: 35

Intelligence: 2

Charm: -3

Skill 1: Infection (Passive): No Pain, No Intelligence, Immune to Mental Control.

Skill 2: Corpse Virus (Passive): If you attack the enemy’s body and cause a wound, a Stamina Attribute check will be conducted. If the check fails, you will be infected with the Mutant Corpse Virus.

Skill 3: Death (Passive): Apart from the head, damage to organs or limbs does not completely eliminate the Infected.

Skill 4: Mutation (Passive): After becoming Infected, there is a 3% chance to produce Elite Individuals.

Hint: The maximum existence time of the Infected is 8 hours.

...

Upon seeing this data, Su Xiao’s brow furrowed. This is essentially an enhanced version of the T Virus. If one’s Stamina Attribute is low, they would be infected with the virus just by approaching the Corpse, which might be an aura-type skill.

A large number of Infected climbed onto the rooftop. These Infected were different from the slow zombies—they moved on all fours, were agile, and could easily leap several meters.

Over a hundred Infected surrounded Su Xiao, and upon seeing this, a satisfied smile appeared on the Corpse’s face.

”Daring to snipe me within three hundred meters, you’re bold but equally foolish.”

The Corpse beckoned with a finger, and an Infected with a heavily muscled body approached the Corpse.

This Infected was at least three meters tall, its whole body of bulging muscles had already torn its clothes.

”Only one Elite Individual, not so lucky.”

As he spoke, the Corpse leapt onto the back of the Elite Infected, which growled lowly on all fours, seemingly a bit dissatisfied.

”Oh? It’s an Exotic Elite Individual, no wonder there’s only one.”

Placing his hand on the Elite Infected’s back, the Corpse let pale yellow liquid seep into it. Moments later, the Elite Infected, which had been showing signs of resistance, calmed down.

The Corpse moved leisurely. To him, the sniper surrounded by over a hundred Infected was as good as dead. All he needed to do was go up to the rooftop to see if there was a Scarlet Card.

”Another Number 5 is dead. I wonder if the boss will blame me.”

Thinking of the boss of the Gentleman’s Alliance, the Corpse shuddered.

”Probably not, it’s an accident, maybe...”

Just as the Corpse was mulling over how to explain to his boss, a sky-piercing blade hum sounded from above. A circular Blade Aura spread, with large sections of limbs flying.

With a thud, an Infected cut into three pieces landed not far from the Corpse, twitching, with faint blue light flickering at the wound.

”What’s going on...”

Zheng!

A Blade Aura swept down from top to bottom, shrinking the Corpse’s pupils to the extreme.
