Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 946: Chapter 945: Triple Date Plus One

Early the next morning, Asuna changed her clothes and came to the Teleportation Crystal as promised.

But to Asuna’s surprise, next to the Teleportation Crystal, besides Eiriri and Fang Zheng, there was a third person, and that was...

”Sister Asuna...!”

Seeing Asuna walk over, Yui waved happily, and looking at the girl in front of her, Asuna’s initially tense mood relaxed a lot. A slight smile appeared on her face as she quickly walked over.

”Hello, Yui.”

As she softly greeted Yui, Asuna looked up, puzzled, at Fang Zheng.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, is Yui going too?”

”Of course.”

Facing Asuna’s inquiry, Fang Zheng nodded. During this period, he had basically assumed the role of Yui’s ”godfather.” Apart from daily training and instance raids, and some time that couldn’t be seen by others, Fang Zheng spent most of his remaining time accompanying Yui. Yui had also become very close to Fang Zheng, so Asuna wasn’t particularly surprised that Fang Zheng brought Yui along this time.

However, what Asuna didn’t know was that Fang Zheng brought Yui along to keep an eye on her.

Regarding the root of Asuna’s stress, Fang Zheng had already heard about it from Eiriri. To be honest, he didn’t have a good solution for it yet, but at least he wanted to ensure Asuna’s situation didn’t worsen.

Fang Zheng could be certain that if he only brought Eiriri and Asuna out shopping, who knows what kind of nonsense Asuna would think about. So, he simply decided to bring Yui along as insurance. Eiriri has never drawn anything inappropriate involving young girls; no matter how desperate Asuna gets, she wouldn’t go so far as to lay a finger on Yui, right?

If she did, then Fang Zheng would have to consider mentally reshaping Asuna.

But as of now, Asuna’s reaction was fairly normal. In fact, she also let out a barely noticeable sigh of relief. Just as Fang Zheng had worried, Asuna hadn’t slept particularly well last night, constantly thinking about today’s outing.

Even though Eiriri said not to worry, what if? If that kind of situation happened, what should she do? Tease and play hard to get? Or close her eyes and pretend nothing’s happening? Or maybe just hand herself over outright...

Now seeing Yui, Asuna realized she needn’t have spent a whole night overthinking.

This in turn made her feel relieved.

”Where are we going today?”

”Let’s stroll around the Starting Town.”

Fang Zheng was evidently prepared, and neither Eiriri nor Asuna objected.

After more than half a year, the current Starting Town was no longer the same as it was initially. Out of ten thousand people, less than a thousand qualified to be at the front line for raids. Besides the frontline raid group, there was the gathering group and combat group, which together didn’t even total three thousand people. The rest were ordinary players who cherished their lives, including luckless ones like Asuna who stumbled in and couldn’t get back out.

At first, these players didn’t know what to do, but now, it had become clear that humans indeed have a knack for adapting to their environment.

Walking around the Starting Town, player stalls and shops could be seen everywhere, and many players were even running up and down the streets. These players were mostly engaged in production professions within the Starting Town, responsible for acquiring raw materials, processing them into finished goods, and then selling them externally to earn funding from other guilds or groups.

Of course, this money wasn’t a lot, but it was enough to satisfy basic needs.

Fang Zheng’s Dark Moon Sword had also purchased a large piece of land in the Starting Town, renting it out to these production-type players. By paying rent, they could operate their own shops and make a living. As they say, those who don’t work shouldn’t eat. Fang Zheng wasn’t running a Charitable Hall, and the guild wasn’t a charitable organization either. Just providing these regular production-type players with a storefront was already quite a reasonable treatment.

Some people do ask the guild for aid, but for those Fang Zheng always ignores; able-bodied people who don’t work hard and fear death and combat deserve to starve in his opinion.

As they walked the streets, the shouts of the players could be heard everywhere.

”Come and take a look, the latest high-grade weapons, currently on sale at 10% off, don’t miss out if you’re interested!”

”Silver Scale Chest Armor, blue quality, five gold each...!”

”Freshly baked bread, bread!”

Though the game wasn’t entirely realistic, it did closely mirror reality in many aspects. Many players weren’t good at combat, but they had real-life skills like sewing and cooking that they could put to use. Although cooking in the game wasn’t like in reality where you had to manually put together dishes, you just mixed the right proportions of vegetables, fruits, meats, and seasonings, then activated the cooking skill, mixing it still took some skill.

For instance, when stir-frying, you add a pinch of salt, but how much exactly is ”a pinch”?

Just this question alone could leave a bunch of inexperienced cooks at a loss.

Fang Zheng bought a sandwich for Yui, then led everyone around, strolling and observing the bustling scenes around them, feeling considerably more relaxed.

”Everyone has gradually gotten used to life in this world, huh?”

Looking at the scene before them, Eiriri also broke into a smile.

”I still remember that in the early days, many people were in a panic, having no idea what to do. Now, seeing how they are, they seem to have already acclimatized to life in this world.”

”Human beings are highly adaptable creatures; even if they were dropped on a deserted island, they would try their best to adjust to the environment. This is why humans became the dominant species on Earth.”

Speaking as he walked to a food stall, Fang Zheng stopped, surprised by the setup in front of him. Not only him, but even Asuna and Eiriri were taken aback when they saw what was on the stall.

”Is this...ice cream?”

”That’s right, dear customer.”

Hearing Asuna’s query, the stall owner walked over with a cheerful grin.

”This is my exclusive secret recipe, you see. There’s strawberry flavor, lemon flavor, and banana flavor... Which one would you like?”

”What flavor is this Blue Hawaii?”

Asuna curiously eyed the label on the stall and asked. Hearing her question, the stall owner’s smile grew even broader.

”Blue Hawaii is Blue Hawaii-flavored, dear customer, you’ll know after you try it.”

”Hmm...”

Hearing this, Asuna frowned in thought for a moment, then turned to Fang Zheng beside her.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, why don’t you choose?”

”Then let’s have one of each.”

Responding to Asuna’s query, Fang Zheng offered a straightforward solution without a second thought.

”We can share and taste each other’s, that way we can experience all the flavors.”

”Great idea!”

Eiriri immediately nodded in agreement, and Yui eagerly raised her hand high.

”Uh...S-Sir...”

Witnessing this scene, the ice cream stall owner’s smile became somewhat stiff. He looked at Fang Zheng, then at Asuna, and then turned to Eiriri holding Fang Zheng’s arm, as well as Yui holding Fang Zheng’s hand...

”Please give us one of each.”

”Certainly...”

The thing the stall owner regretted the most now was having openly listed prices in the shop. Had he known it would turn out like this, he would’ve raised the prices tenfold!

But now... it’s just so frustrating!

Just because you’re handsome and wealthy, does that mean you can do whatever you want and have it all?
