Chapter 906: Chapter 905: Battles Really Feel Better with BGM

Twin Blade Grey Wolf suddenly transformed into a Double-Headed Husky, which startled everyone. Fortunately, thanks to Fang Zheng’s prior warning, some people quickly snapped out of their shock.

”Reserve team, move forward and block! Others, prepare to recover, those with low health, fall back!”

Unceremoniously taking over command from Black Snow Princess and Ang, Fang Zheng issued orders immediately. Upon hearing his directive, the previously idle reserve team snapped into action, hurriedly blocking the path in front of the Husky—they had been a bit dissatisfied when the BOSS fell earlier, but now they were trembling with tension.

Meanwhile, the other players were in sheer panic, which was understandable since the rampage of the Grey Wolf in twin blade mode had already shaved off a lot of their health. Players share a common flaw: when the BOSS is near death, they believe that with just a bit of effort, they can take it down with their last bit of health... Fang Zheng, as the designer, understands this mindset all too well.

Aside from the reserve team members Fang Zheng had Black Snow Princess retain for emergencies, the health of other players was precarious, with most dropping below half or nearly bottoming out. More importantly, in their zeal to celebrate the BOSS’s defeat, they hadn’t had time to recover!

At their current health, some of them would surely die with even a brush from the BOSS!!

Had they recovered immediately after the defeat, it wouldn’t have been too problematic, but now their health was dangerously low. Faced with the menacing Husky, those with dogs at home recalled the fear instilled by Erha, while those without pets were outright terrified.

A thousand words wound up as one sentence—Don’t come over here, ahhhhh!!

”Awoooo!!”

The Husky howled, lunging at the players, only to be predictably blocked by the players’ shield wall. At this moment, the low-health players hastily retreated, quickly grabbing their Blood Bottles to recover.

This game had no instant recovery items, nor could you use Blood Bottles during combat; you can’t just hold a sword and hack at the BOSS while healing, so you must first disengage to recover. Moreover, health restoration from Blood Bottles is gradual, a point many players found quite irksome. If they could access the forums, they would’ve been cursing the developers by now.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t log in.

Of course, this didn’t stop them from mentally showering curses on the developers.

”Boom!!”

The players in the reserve team raised their shields, stubbornly blocking the Husky’s first strike. Yet, some among them staggered, their footing unstable. The impact from Erha’s Husky form was several times stronger than that of the Grey Wolf, making them feel as if they were hit by a truck.

But, before they could react, the Husky suddenly raised its paw and swatted at the players in front!

”Bam!!”

With a dull thud, several members of the reserve team were instantly sent flying by the Husky’s swipe, throwing the formation into chaos. With a roar, the Husky charged towards the players at the rear, seemingly seeking the person who hit it the hardest earlier.

Upon reflection, it made sense: there’s a cause and source of every grievance—whoever pushed you into the second phase is the one you should seek revenge on, right?

But for those half-health or lower-health players, the image of this Husky baring its teeth and sticking out its tongue was terrifying.

”Waaahhh, don’t come here!!”

Seeing the Husky charging at them, a player screamed, panicked, turning around to run, only to crash directly into another player not far behind, knocking them to the ground. Meanwhile, the other players scattered, resulting in utter chaos.

”Don’t panic! Stay calm!!”

Though Black Snow Princess and Ang tried to calm everyone down, how could anyone stay calm in this situation?

”Yuna! Draw the aggro!”

At this point, Fang Zheng also drew his machete.

”Black Cat, prepare for battle!”

”I’ve been waiting for this!!”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s command, Black Cat gripped her scimitar excitedly; if she hadn’t promised Fang Zheng to follow orders, she would’ve charged when the BOSS revived.

”Clang, clang, clang---!!”

Simultaneously, Yuna summoned her lute and began to play, then started singing. Her song was passionate and resounding. With its rhythmic melody, the Husky, which had been about to pounce on the player group, turned its head towards Yuna, then redirected its path, rushing at her!

”Chanting has such power?”

Witnessing this, Black Snow Princess was shocked. She knew that chanting could grant buffs but didn’t expect it could forcibly transfer monster aggro!

Until now, this was the only known skill in the Game World capable of pulling monster aggro!

This was also why Fang Zheng had Yuna join the team, partly because she knew Black Snow Princess and the others, but mainly because Yuna’s chant skill gained this aggro-pulling ability upon upgrading, providing the perfect solution under critical circumstances. In a world without dedicated tanks to manage aggro, this skill was invaluable.

Accompanied by Yuna’s song, the Husky lunged at her, poised for an aerial attack. But as it was mid-air, Fang Zheng sprang forward, grasping tightly onto his pitch-black giant machete. He forcefully swung it down onto the Husky, causing the machete to extend into a long whip, striking the Husky and abruptly ending its pounce, knocking it to the ground.

However, the Husky’s defense was evidently tougher than the Grey Wolf’s. Quickly finding its footing after landing, it attempted to bypass Fang Zheng to continue attacking Yuna. But Black Cat had already positioned herself in its path.

”Fallen beast, you have no right to live in this world!”

Facing the paw swinging down at her, Black Cat sharply retorted. She swiftly drew her scimitar, thrusting it into the long handle strapped to her back. Then, gripping the hilt with both hands, she swung it forward in a shapeshifting slash, directly colliding with the Husky’s incoming paw. With a crisp shattering sound, the Husky staggered to the ground, its defense broken.

”This is your end.”

Black Cat rose slowly, the cold scythe in her hands pointing at the Husky before her.

”Do you see the death’s star in the sky? I can feel the evil lurking deep within your dark soul, and now, it is time to end it all. Let me use the Blade of Funeral to send you to that world!!”

”.........

Feeling the curious and complex gazes from everyone around and looking at the excessively dramatic Black Cat, Fang Zheng helplessly placed a hand on his forehead with a sigh.

He was certain Black Cat had spent their entire journey memorizing these lines.

Yet at this moment, Black Cat felt ecstatic—the mighty Husky, her incredibly stylish gear and scythe, and Yuna’s song playing in the background... it was the perfect anime finale!

Scenes such as these were ones she had only witnessed in animations or dreamt of, and now, she finally had the chance to experience it firsthand!!
