Chapter 913: Chapter 912: The Daily Life of Crafter Players

”Hello, Miss Sayaka.”

Looking at the woman walking over, Fang Zheng greeted her. She was one of the few adult women in the Dark Moon Sword Guild, and her reason for joining was quite simple. Initially, she wanted to join the Raid Group, but unfortunately, Sayaka’s skills weren’t enough to participate in frontline operations, so she became one of the production-type players.

After that, once Sayaka saw some children wandering the streets, lost and alone. She herself majored in education in college and, although not yet graduated, her sense of responsibility as a teacher led her to bring the child back.

When Fang Zheng learned about this, he asked Sayaka to take charge of the orphaned children within the game. They were mostly elementary and middle school students, without parents or relatives nearby, left alone in the game, which was a heavy psychological burden on them.

Thus, Fang Zheng designated a special area for them to live, not intending to let them fight. Their main tasks were to farm in the fields, while Sayaka was responsible for teaching them. The Dark Moon Sword Guild took care of their living needs, and so far, these kids’ lives seemed quite good.

”It’s rare to see you. No raids recently?”

”We need to work together; we can’t defeat all the bosses just by ourselves. We must cooperate with others.”

Fang Zheng wouldn’t mention his team refusing to raid due to fear of bugs, so he casually made up an excuse to brush this matter aside.

”How’s your life going lately? No problems?”

”No issues, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Sayaka revealed a relaxed and happy smile.

”We’ve gathered about thirty-five children... they’re all the children in the game, thank heavens, their mental state is still normal.”

Saying this, Sayaka glanced at the children beside her.

”Alright, kids, continue your work, okay? Twenty more minutes.”

”Yes!”

Upon hearing Sayaka’s words, the kids responded cheerfully, then returned to the fields to continue their farming work.

”They seem to listen to you well.”

Watching the kids use their farming Skills again, Fang Zheng remarked in admiration, while Sayaka shook her head.

”I’m far from it, but it’s thanks to Mr. Fang Zheng and the guild for your help... it’s quite shameful, initially I thought I could protect and educate these kids on my own, but instead, they have changed me... it’s truly unbelievable...”

”As long as you’re good to them, they’ll be good to you.”

Seeing the lively children, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but think of the little girls in the Heavenly Dao Palace.

”Children are the flowers of a nation. Speaking of which, the Raid Group also has many kids... not much older than them.”

In Fang Zheng’s Raid Group, aside from Fang Zheng and two others, by age, the oldest is Aoba, who looks most like a child, and is about to graduate from high school. Then there are Eiriri, Gabriel, Mimel, Lingyin, and Seven Seas, who are also in high school, while Asuna, Black Cat, Yuki, and Leafa are all in middle school.

”Speaking of which, Mr. Fang Zheng, I’ve heard some unpleasant rumors recently.”

”Rumors?”

Hearing Sayaka’s voice take on a serious tone, Fang Zheng turned to look at her, while Sayaka nodded solemnly.

”I heard from other production-type players that there have been gangs targeting players for robbery and attacks recently. Leaving the Starting Town, heading to leveling up areas, or leaving the safety zone after using a Teleportation Crystal, players are surrounded by heavily armed players demanding money and Equipment Items, or they risk being killed. There were even female players being humiliated...”

”Is that really happening?”

Fang Zheng’s expression darkened slightly upon hearing this.

”Why didn’t we know about this?”

”Because those players won’t ascend to higher floors. They seem to be lingering in the first, second, and third floors, avoiding the areas the Raid Group operates in. I only learned about this from familiar production-type players.”

Sayaka’s expression became uneasy.

”Because our production-type players and these children mainly conduct gathering activities on these floors, so...”

”I understand.”

Before Sayaka finished speaking, Fang Zheng waved his hand to interrupt her.

”I’ll investigate this. Don’t tell anyone else for now.”

”...Alright.”

Sayaka nodded at Fang Zheng’s response, then respectfully bowed and turned to leave. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng squinted his eyes, deep in thought.

The occurrence of such events was within Fang Zheng’s expectations, but what surprised him was the quick emergence of PK players... these people are clearly the bane of the game and cannot be allowed to continue their misdeeds.

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng quickly opened his contact book, found Black Snow Princess, and asked her about the situation of PK players.

”We’ve heard about these activities too.”

As expected, Black Snow Princess provided Fang Zheng with more detailed information.

”It seems they’ve organized a guild called ’Smiling Coffin’ specifically for looting and attacking other players...”

”Are you planning to do something about it?”

”Well... although we want to stop them, we’re just a player guild, and trying to curb Smiling Coffin would mean confronting them, which could even...”

Black Snow Princess didn’t finish her sentence, but Fang Zheng understood her meaning. PK in games is not just PK—fighting Smiling Coffin could result in deaths. Whether killing or getting killed, it’s far from a joyous matter for ordinary players.

”...Moreover, Smiling Coffin doesn’t attack our Raid Group’s guild. Their targets are solo players and regular players, so we really aren’t justified to intervene.”

Black Snow Princess’s thinking is typical of Japanese people—not involved should not meddle, especially in matters concerning the people. Her reluctance to intervene is quite understandable.

However, for Fang Zheng, it’s a different story. They work hard on the front lines to create a good environment at the rear. If a pack of wild dogs were to ruin their efforts, Fang Zheng would never accept it.

After all, the players in the guild are ordinary people, and it’s perfectly normal to have doubts and even resist killing.

Yet, although they can’t do it, Fang Zheng certainly can.

In fact, in Fang Zheng’s view, these bane players aren’t even human.

They’re just...

Ears!!!
