Chapter 930: Chapter 929: Rescue Operation in the Game World

”What’s going on.”

When Fang Zheng arrived, the first thing he saw was the anxious face of Argo, along with a few disheveled players.

”You’re finally here, Fang Zheng.”

Seeing Fang Zheng appear, Argo breathed a sigh of relief.

”The situation isn’t great; let him tell you instead.”

As she spoke, Argo gestured to a player beside her, and then Fang Zheng saw that player walk over. He looked like a young man about 26 or 27 years old, with short hair, and he seemed like he hadn’t slept for days. Upon seeing Fang Zheng, he hurriedly greeted him.

”Hello, I’m Teikichi Hori from the Red Knight Order. Here’s the situation, our Red Knight Order arranged to team up with Dark Nebula today to explore the abandoned Iron City instance on the twenty-fifth floor. The journey went smoothly, but just as we were about to leave after clearing the instance, an elite creature suddenly appeared...”

”Elite creature? A World BOSS?”

”Yes!”

The young man named Teikichi Hori, who looked much like a corporate drone, nodded.

”At first, we were very surprised; we thought it was some kind of follow-up event of the instance. But the strength of that World BOSS far exceeded our expectations! It’s more than twenty levels above us! Not only that, the appearance of the BOSS cut off all communication in the area, and we can’t use the Teleportation Crystal to return!”

”Cannot use the Teleportation Crystal or communicate?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng’s expression slightly darkened as he silently noted this characteristic.

”Yes, not just us, but the entire City of Steel is locked down. Besides us, there are also players gathering materials and completing tasks trapped inside, numbering in the hundreds. Our guild leader has gathered them in a relatively safe place.”

As he spoke, Teikichi Hori lowered his head.

”Because that creature blocked our only way out, we couldn’t escape. In the end, our guild leader voluntarily led a group to divert the creature’s attack power, allowing our squad to make a break for it. But the creature was clever, it deliberately lured us into a trap. Except for me and the team leader Scarlet Higanbana, no one else managed to escape.”

”That damned creature is truly formidable.”

At this moment, another man with a robust build and a head of blazing red hair, carrying a giant axe, strode over and spoke.

”Its attacks are primarily area attacks, and its size is massive. Even if not directly hit, the shockwave can deplete more than half of our health. Several of my subordinates didn’t even have time to escape to a safe area before they were...”

Here, the red-haired player vigorously swung his giant axe.

”Damn it!!”

”Black Snow Princess and Ang wanted to reach out to you, but they didn’t have you on their friends list, so they contacted me instead.”

As an informant, Argo naturally filled in the rest, explaining to Fang Zheng why they sought his help.

”Right now, only your Dark Moon Sword can handle it. If even you can’t...”

Argo didn’t finish the sentence, but as she suggested, Fang Zheng’s Dark Moon Sword had taken down two-thirds of the Lord BOSSes to date, leading the guild points by a wide margin, making him the undisputed top player in the Raid Group. If even Fang Zheng couldn’t handle it, then no one else could.

”I’ll have a look at the situation first.”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment, then turned once more to the previous player.

”How big is the BOSS?”

”About four to five meters tall... I can’t say for sure, but it looks a bit like a Centaur made of iron, using a shield and a long spear.”

”I understand.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng nodded, then he made a gesture.

”Eiriri, go scout the target, see what the situation is, and remember, don’t be reckless. Just use your skill to sketch it from outside the safe range. If necessary, use the weapon you recently switched to... You’ve practiced with it, right?”

”Of course.”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Eiriri smiled smugly and nodded.

”Leave it to me, I won’t mess it up!”

After saying this, Eiriri quickly turned and left, while Fang Zheng turned to Argo and the two players, saying to them.

”Now I need you to tell me the BOSS’s attack patterns and frequencies. Tell me everything you know, and I also suggest you contact your guild and have them send people to block off the entrances and exits here, to prevent other players from wandering in.”

Upon saying this, Fang Zheng looked at Argo.

”Argo, your channels are the most well-connected, go notify the others. Tell them a World BOSS has spawned in Iron City on the twenty-fifth floor. Advise them to stay away for now. I believe they know what to do.”

If this were a typical online game, the major guilds would already be scrambling to seize the BOSS, but the problem is, this is a Death Game — in a Death Game, no matter how high the rewards of a World BOSS, it’s not worth trading lives for.

”Okay.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s command, Argo nodded and immediately started contacting her people. At this moment, Fang Zheng also turned back around to carefully inquire with the two near-death players, recording the information they provided. Of course, in the panicked escape, they might not have observed thoroughly, but for Fang Zheng, it was enough.

[The message has been sent out, they know what to do]

While Fang Zheng was recording the information, a message from Argo popped up before his eyes.

[But speaking of which, since we’ve already notified others of the World BOSS spawn, there’s no need to have their guild send people now, right?]

[It’s absolutely necessary]

Fang Zheng quickly replied with a line.

[If someone accidentally wanders in, it’ll be troublesome. Moreover...]

At this point, Fang Zheng paused.

[Blocking the entrance and exit is not just to prevent others from entering, but also to stop someone from leaving]

[Wait, are you saying someone is behind the World BOSS’s appearance?]

Seeing Fang Zheng’s reply, Argo widened her eyes in shock, quickly typing another line to inquire. This time, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment and nodded subtly.

In fact, after hearing the whole story, Fang Zheng felt the appearance of the World BOSS was too coincidental. More importantly, before the World BOSS appeared, no one had even noticed it, and now everyone was trapped. If it were just a coincidence, it’s far too perfectly timed and located.

Moreover, in online games, using this kind of method to eliminate opponents is actually quite common...

Fang Zheng had a gut feeling that behind this World BOSS spawn event, it might well be a plot by some players.

If this is truly the case, then what happens next will become even more interesting.
