Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 912: Chapter 911: Can’t Do It, Let’s Call It Off!

”........So, you just ran back?”

Looking at the girls in front of him, Fang Zheng was completely speechless.

He had never seen these girls in such a sorry state before. Eiriri’s eyes were swollen from crying, Asuna was still unconscious, and Mimel was also in a miserable condition. On the other side, Aoba showed an awkward smile, while Leafa was covered in mud, hiding behind Lingyin......

”Alright, clean yourselves up, and once you’re ready, we can go again...”

”I’m not going!!”

This time, before Fang Zheng could finish his sentence, Eiriri was the first to jump up and frantically shook her head.

”I’m not going, I’ll never go to this level again, even if I have to jump off Aincrad, even if it means death, I’m not going!!”

”I-I’m also... those bugs are too terrifying, Mr. Fang Zheng, I really can’t handle them...”

Aoba was also shivering next to them, pleading.

”Yeah, exactly, it’s just the beginning, and there are spiders and centipedes already. What if cockroaches show up later?”

”---------!!”

Upon hearing Leafa’s words, almost all the girls turned pale, their bodies stiffened, and Aoba nearly fainted — those human-sized centipedes and spiders were enough to test anyone’s mental resilience. If they were to face cockroaches the size of humans, they might just break down completely!

”......”

Looking at the crowd in front of him, determined to resist to the death, Fang Zheng was at a loss. To be honest, he didn’t expect the designer of the sixth level to be so disgusting, throwing a bunch of bugs at them... As the saying goes, there are only two types of people in this world: those afraid of creatures without legs, and those afraid of creatures with too many legs.

It seems he has quite a lot of the latter in his guild...

After further persuasion, the girls led by Eiriri remained steadfast in their refusal. They would rather wear cat ears and swimsuits to hand out flyers in the street than go to the sixth level to fight creatures!

In your dreams! Don’t even think about it! Absolutely not!

”Alright then, let’s abandon the sixth level.”

Faced with the ”heated emotions” of everyone, Fang Zheng thought for a while and had no choice but to reluctantly compromise.

At least from Restia and Ester’s reports, Eiriri and the others indeed had very low resistance to insect-type creatures. If not for a few individuals who were not afraid of bugs blocking the small monsters, they might indeed have crumbled and faced total annihilation this time.

However, Fang Zheng had to put his foot down.

”Don’t think about skipping out, this time we’ll let it slide because it’s the first time, but in the future? Why don’t you think about what you’ll do if the boss on the hundredth level turns out to be an insect boss, with swarms of bug minions, and the fight begins with cockroaches crawling all over the place and hornets buzzing in the air?”

”Ugh...........”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, the girls turned pale immediately. Although Fang Zheng was 99 percent certain that the boss on the hundredth level wouldn’t be an insect, this issue couldn’t be indulged. The only reason Fang Zheng was willing to compromise on the sixth level was because he needed to give the girls a bit of relaxation. Although he maintained a militarized management approach for Asuna and others, that didn’t mean they were really soldiers. Sometimes, when they acted a bit stubbornly, Fang Zheng couldn’t just persistently force them.

However, that didn’t mean he’d let it slide entirely.

”How about this, if you absolutely refuse to tackle the sixth level, then from now on, I can allow you not to attempt the sixth level, but instead, if we encounter any worse, scarier floors afterward, you can’t escape once we’re there, understand?!”

”..........”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the girls exchanged glances, then Eiriri gritted her teeth.

”I understand! As long as I don’t have to do the sixth level, no matter how disgusting or terrifying the later levels are, I won’t be afraid!”

”Mm mm mm!!!”

Along with Eiriri’s words, the others nodded vigorously like chickens pecking rice, clearly having been disgusted by the bugs on this level.

”Then let’s settle it this way.”

Fang Zheng waved his hand dismissively.

”We’re giving up on the sixth level, but we have to be the first to tackle the seventh level, and starting now, training volume will be doubled!”

Saying this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but chuckle internally.

On the surface, it seemed like Eiriri and the others successfully skipped, but skipping a level isn’t as easy as it seems, right? Since the designer created this bug-filled level, it means that later on, various bug monsters will definitely appear. If you don’t adapt here, you’ll suffer later.

This is why Fang Zheng set these terms with Eiriri and the others—at least with this agreement, they won’t have the chance to skip next time.

And of course, Eiriri and the others didn’t know Fang Zheng’s thoughts. Upon hearing they wouldn’t have to tackle the sixth level, the girls scattered joyfully like they’d been granted amnesty, each going off to soothe their frazzled nerves from the sixth level.

”Honestly...”

Watching the crowd disperse, Fang Zheng shook his head, then stood up and walked out of the room.

After completing the trial on the third level, the Dark Moon Sword’s guild points accumulated to Rank III, allowing for the purchase or rental of guild housing. Initially, Fang Zheng planned to purchase a guild headquarters, but seeing the interface with costs easily in the tens of millions of Core, Fang Zheng hesitated internally, ultimately opting to temporarily rent a guild headquarters.

Of course, whether renting or buying, the effects are the same. With a guild residence, guild players can teleport from the teleportation crystal in the guild housing to various floors and also teleport directly back from the floors.

As the guild level increases further, they could even obtain equipment items that allow players to teleport directly back to the guild from any location—even more useful, as teleportation crystals have fixed locations, and mini portable teleportation crystals are expensive with low drop rates. Obtaining guild equipment provides players with another transfer method and increased safety.

This is why the Dark Nebula and Red Knight Order would team up to conquer the fifth layer—defeating lord bosses is always the best way to increase guild points. The Dark Moon Sword defeated four lord bosses in total, propelling their score ranking to the top among various guilds.

This is something no other guild can achieve through production, instance runs, or side quests.

The guild residence Fang Zheng rented is a small Western-style manor with a vineyard and a Western mansion, along with a warehouse. Besides using the mansion and small house to allocate and host various players, the vineyard and fields can be used by production players to cultivate crops and gather food materials, then handed over to culinary players for cooking—it’s as if the Dark Moon Sword guild has now become one big family.

”Ah, Brother Zheng!”

As Fang Zheng arrived at the fields, a few children planting crops noticed him and cheerfully waved, then ran over and surrounded Fang Zheng.

”How are you doing? All good?”

Looking at the kids, Fang Zheng smiled and asked, to which one of the children nodded vigorously.

”Yeah, very good, Brother Zheng! Let me tell you, my planting skill has reached LV4, and I can plant pineapple trees now!”

Watching these children excitedly gesturing and talking to him, Fang Zheng silently smiled. These kids were players left behind at the Starting Town, mostly in the elementary to middle school age range.

That’s quite normal, considering this game is ultimately a game, and children are naturally the most interested group in it. But now, with the advent of the death game, things are different.

”Welcome, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

While Fang Zheng was chatting with the children, petting their heads, a voice suddenly rang out.

Turning around, he saw a woman in her early twenties, with short dark blue hair and glasses, smiling openly as she approached them.
