Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 935: Chapter 934: Returning the Favor

”Adu, follow!”

”Uwaa!”

”Oil, follow!”

”Uwaa!”

”Jagabro, follow!”

”Uwaa!”

The crowd stood there, watching Tooth King’s body bobbing up and down like a balloon. Fang Zheng, on the other hand, clenched his fists and started punching and kicking the human sandbag in front of him.

Poor Tooth King was merely an ordinary game player. Although in the game world, players can gain battle experience through fighting and system-assisted sword skills, it doesn’t mean they inherently master these techniques. Once they lose their weapons, Tooth King is basically as helpless as anyone, whereas for Fang Zheng... weapons have long since become insignificant to him.

To others, the scene before them looked just like a fighting game. Fang Zheng was hitting Tooth King with an infinite combo. Poor Tooth King couldn’t perform a Burst and had no chance to counterattack, only able to be knocked from the sky to the ground and then back up again by Fang Zheng.

As he fought, Fang Zheng even hummed a tune.

”...Step forward with a horse stance, a left hook, a right hook, a warning to those who provoke me...”

”Spare me, spare me, please...”

At this moment, Tooth King was on the brink of collapse. In the game world, while attack damage doesn’t bring pain, physical reactions from collisions still have an impact. Just like the firearm, although everyone could see Fang Zheng showering Tooth King with punches, the system recorded it as...

[Tooth King’s face collided with a fist]

[Tooth King’s stomach collided with a fist]

[Tooth King’s chest collided with a foot!]

Since the system regarded such attacks as ”ordinary object collisions” rather than ”attack damage,” Fang Zheng wouldn’t be deemed a criminal.

Initially, Tooth King tried to resist, but Fang Zheng gave him no chance. Although Tooth King had backup weapons in his inventory, to use them, he had to manually access the inventory. Now, with Fang Zheng beating him so he couldn’t even recognize up from down, how could he possibly have time to draw a weapon and fight?

Moreover, even if Tooth King did draw a weapon, would Fang Zheng give him the opportunity to use a skill?

Fang Zheng continued using Tooth King as a punching bag, while members of the Red Knight Order and Dark Nebula cheered together. They had long found Tooth King annoying. If they hadn’t had too much to worry about in the past and didn’t understand the system’s judgments, they probably would have ganged up on Tooth King long ago. Now, seeing Fang Zheng beat Tooth King like a ball, everyone cheered, with some even loudly counting the combo hits from the sidelines.

”...Seventy... Eighty... Ninety... One hundred... One hundred ten!”

”Spare me... spare me...”

Now, Tooth King was at the edge of a mental breakdown. He had been so arrogant before, relying on sheer willpower and the fact that combat damage didn’t bring severe pain. Thus, even if shot through with a thousand arrows, he wouldn’t feel hurt.

But now, Fang Zheng was delivering real, solid punches!

Tooth King was just an ordinary player; although he was cocky in the game, in reality, he couldn’t even be a thug and hadn’t been involved in street fights. How could he withstand the assault of a human sandbag? At first, he tried to be tough, but soon started howling and begging for mercy.

Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised at all. Someone who is so cowardly that they’d push their teammates forward to shield themselves, claiming they have strong willpower would be a joke.

”Lushan Rising Dragon!”

Fang Zheng shouted again, then threw a punch at Tooth King’s chin, sending him flying. Then he took a step back, spun around, and lashed out a kick like a whip between Tooth King’s legs.

”Oowuuu——!!”

With a near-unearthly wail, Tooth King flew and crashed into a wall, collapsing to the ground, his eyes rolling back, completely unconscious. Seeing this, many of the players who were cheering shrank a bit, their legs unconsciously coming together, looking at Fang Zheng with more fear.

However, Fang Zheng didn’t care at all. He walked over to Tooth King’s side and stomped on his abdomen. Tooth King coughed once, then was startled awake from unconsciousness.

”Please, let me go...”

This time, Tooth King couldn’t even fake being tough. The fully immersive technology directly reads brain signals, so in the game world, people’s reactions are even more exaggerated and obvious than in reality. In simple terms, when you want to laugh, you laugh; when you want to cry, you cry. You can’t control your facial muscles to keep a straight face like in the real world, even if you’re laughing inside.

After all, in this virtual world, you have no muscles to control.

So Tooth King, with tears and snot streaming down, looked as pitiful as a pig about to be sent to the slaughterhouse.

Tooth King had thought about feigning unconsciousness to escape. In fact, during the process of being beaten by Fang Zheng like a human sandbag, he passed out more than once. But each time Tooth King fainted, Fang Zheng would quickly wake him with more intense pain.

In reality, Tooth King probably would have been beaten to death by Fang Zheng, but unfortunately, this was just a virtual world.

Thus, Tooth King tasted for the first time what it means to live a life worse than death.

As long as his HP didn’t reach zero, Tooth King couldn’t die no matter what. What once seemed like the best setup now made Tooth King feel he really might as well be dead.

”Please... let me go... I, I’m willing to abandon the task...”

”Then display your menu.”

Hearing Tooth King’s words, Fang Zheng stopped. He stood there, coldly staring at him. Tooth King, not daring to play any tricks, quickly opened his personal window and set it to an external view mode, swiftly showing it to Fang Zheng.

Sure enough, on Tooth King’s window, the trial task in progress was prominently displayed.

Fang Zheng squatted down, grabbed Tooth King’s finger, and slowly moved it to the window, then clicked on the option to abandon the guild task.

[Notice: The trial task is about to be abandoned, do you wish to abandon it?]

After glancing at the system prompt and confirming there were no issues, Fang Zheng reached out and clicked [Yes]. Soon, as the task was abandoned, everyone suddenly heard an explosion around them. Subsequently, they realized that their previously restricted communication and Teleportation Crystals were once again marked as usable.

It worked!

Seeing the crisis resolved, everyone cheered excitedly, and Black Snow Princess and Ang happily ran to Fang Zheng’s side, smiling and bowing to him.

”Thank you, Mr. Fang Zheng!”

”No need for thanks, it was nothing.”

Faced with their gratitude, Fang Zheng waved his hand, then looked at the Tooth King who was lying like a dead man at his feet.

”By the way, what do you plan to do with this guy...?”

”Well...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Black Snow Princess and Ang hesitated. To be honest, their first thought was to tear the Tooth King apart. However, this is indeed murder, and although the two girls were nearly subjected to a great insult, they were not ultimately taken advantage of by the Tooth King...

Even so, the thought of letting him go left them somewhat dissatisfied. Of course, most of their anger had dissipated after watching Fang Zheng beat up the Tooth King.

”Please, please let me go!”

At this moment, the Tooth King hurriedly crawled to the girls, and if Fang Zheng wasn’t watching closely, he might have gone up to hug their legs and beg for mercy.

”I, I was just temporarily out of my mind. I’m really sorry, very sorry, I apologize to both of you...”

As he spoke, the Tooth King knelt on the ground, bowed his head to the two girls, and performed a standard dogeza.

Watching coldly, Fang Zheng internally scoffed at the scene before him. This is the Japanese flaw—thinking that an apology can make everything okay? Heh, if apologies were useful, why would we need the police?

With that thought, Fang Zheng looked at the two and spoke.

”If you can’t think of a solution, leave it to me. I guarantee he won’t bother you again, nor appear in front of you.”

”This... alright.”

Black Snow Princess and Ang exchanged glances and finally nodded. In truth, they were indeed at a loss, so Fang Zheng’s intervention was more than welcome.

”In that case, Mr. Fang Zheng, we’ll be leaving now.”

Saying this, Black Snow Princess and Ang activated their Teleportation Crystals and left the City of Steel with their subordinates and other players. Soon, only the Tooth King, Fang Zheng, and Eiriri were left amid the ruins.

”What do you plan to do with him, Mr. Fang Zheng?”

”Simple.”

Fang Zheng casually glanced at the Tooth King and smiled slightly.

”Fight fire with fire.”

With that, the Tooth King saw Fang Zheng strike him again with a punch.

The next moment, he completely lost consciousness.

”Thud!!”

After an unknown amount of time, the intense impact brought the Tooth King back to his senses.

”Ugh... where is this?”

The Tooth King groggily sat up and shook his head, feeling like he had a hangover and unable to clearly recall... That’s right! It was that bastard! He ruined my plan again! Damn it!

Recalling how Fang Zheng had beaten and mocked him, the Tooth King clenched his teeth and fists.

It seems he doesn’t dare to kill me, that’s good. I lost this time, but next time, I’ll definitely kill you...

”Whoa!!”

However, at this moment, a violent impact suddenly struck, sending the Tooth King flying. Then, to his horror, he watched as his HP dropped to half instantly!

Wait, what is this? Is he trying to kill me?

Thinking of this, the Tooth King hastily turned his head, and after taking in the scene before him, he was stunned.

In front of him, a gigantic mantis was staring at him intently, with an elite title only rare bosses would possess displayed prominently above its head!

”No, no, no...”

Looking at the mantis before him, the Tooth King raised his hands in terror and screamed. He turned to flee, but at that moment, the mantis swiftly extended its forelegs, pinching him up, and then opened its mouthparts, fiercely biting down on the Tooth King’s head.

”Ahhhhhhh!!!”

With a scream, his HP instantly hit zero, and the man known as the Tooth King completely shattered and vanished into thin air.
