Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 539: Chapter 539: Monica Usher’s Feelings

”My surname is Usher, my name is Monica Usher. Please don’t worry, uncle and aunt. I’m good friends with Barbara from your family,” she reassured, ”So you really don’t need to worry about such a small favor.”

For the hardworking and kind Sutton family, a life-saving favor is a great kindness they’ll never forget.

Monica Usher stayed in the ward for two hours, discussing Mrs. Sutton’s condition in detail with the doctor.

This devoted effort moved the Sutton family immensely.

Monica Usher bid farewell to the Sutton family, and had just left the ward.

Mr. Sutton accidentally found a black bag in the fruit basket. Curiously, he took the bag out, opened it, and saw a thick stack of RMB!

He and Mrs. Sutton were shocked! It must be more than 200,000!

”Hurry and catch her! What are you standing around for?” Mrs. Sutton urged, ”We’ve already accepted her help, how can we have the nerve to take her money too?”

Mr. Sutton, holding the bag, chased out of the ward!

There were too many people waiting for the elevator, so he quickly made his way downstairs using the stairs, holding onto the railing!

When he got outside the hall, panting and looking around, he finally saw Monica Usher opening the car door.

Mr. Sutton quickly ran towards her, ”Ms. Usher! Ms. Usher, please wait!”

Monica Usher turned her eyes toward his direction, holding the car door, and looked at Mr. Sutton, ”Uncle, why did you come out?”

”Ms. Usher, what are you doing?” Mr. Sutton stood in front of her, panting and clutching his chest, feeling a bit overwhelmed, beads of sweat forming on his forehead, glancing at the bag in his arms, ”We can’t accept this money!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he placed the bag inside the driver’s seat through the car window.

”It’s okay,” Monica Usher didn’t have time to stop and quickly tried to take it back, but he held her back.

”Ms. Usher, we will remember your great kindness in our hearts. You’ve come all this way to see us, arranged for the surgical expert, we really can’t accept more money! We’ve already accepted too much and would feel uneasy.”

Monica Usher said to him, ”You don’t need to repay this money, let Barbara repay the others’ money.”

”...” Mr. Sutton faced her gaze, somewhat confused.

Monica Usher spoke directly, ”The 200,000 you received was borrowed from the new vice president of the group by Barbara Sutton. For someone just gaining a foothold in the workplace, borrowing money from a new boss is not advisable. If not repaid in time, it could affect her future.”

How could Mr. Sutton, a simple and honest farmer from the countryside, understand these things?

Monica Usher took the bag from the driver’s seat and handed it back to his hands, ”Barbara is my best friend, let her use this to repay the debt first. If she has the ability to repay me in the future, we’ll talk then. Anyway, I’m not in a rush; actually, whether she repays me or not doesn’t matter. I genuinely just want to help you all.”

”Ms. Usher...”

”Alright, uncle, Barbara is a sensible young woman, I don’t want her to suffer so much,” Monica Usher said to him, ”I have to return to the city first, the expert will come soon for consultation. Once the surgery time is confirmed, Barbara and I will come over.”

”Ms. Usher, thank you!” Mr. Sutton bowed deeply to her again.

He watched Monica Usher get into her car. She closed the door and fastened her seatbelt, ”Uncle, please go back upstairs, goodbye.”

”Have a safe journey.”

”Alright.”

In no time, she drove away.

In the evening, Barbara Sutton hadn’t worked overtime today.

She took the bus home, sitting by the window, her mind preoccupied with her mother’s condition, temporarily unable to care about emotional matters. Her mind was filled with thoughts of her mother’s struggles over the years, all the hard work and effort her mother had put into taking care of the family.

After getting off the bus, she walked towards her rented apartment, and her phone rang with a specific ringtone.

She quickly took out her phone from her bag and slid to answer, ”Hello, Dad.”
