Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 520: Chapter 520: Got Two Invitations

She placed her hands in the pockets of her ripped denim jacket and stood in front of Finn Morgan, ”Did you just dismiss them like that? Shouldn’t you make an example out of them?”

Finn met her gaze and suddenly understood something.

He said, ”Firing someone is a matter of minutes, but it doesn’t solve the problem.” His tone had a particularly calm and steady feeling.

”What do you mean?” She couldn’t understand, ”Firing them can at least serve as a warning. There should be consequences for speaking out of turn and making assumptions.”

”If we fire them, they won’t be able to witness the moment when President Lane performs miracles.” Finn said, ”Winning people over takes time, and this is the best outcome.”

Hailey Hale didn’t say anything, after all, he had already decided, and she couldn’t change anything. This might also be Justin Kingston’s intention.

Seeing she was fine, Finn was about to start walking.

Hailey Hale put her hand in front of his chest, stopping his steps, ”Could you give me two invitations for tomorrow night’s charity gala?” Her attitude was quite nice.

Finn didn’t refuse, asking her, ”Who else is going?”

”Barbara Sutton, of course.” She took the lollipop out of her mouth and explained earnestly, ”I would feel bad leaving her out. Besides, we have the same position, and anyway, you aren’t short of an invitation, right?”

Finn looked at her and did not refuse, gently moved her hand aside, and then resumed walking.

”Hey?” Hailey quickly followed, ”You wouldn’t be so stingy, would you? We’re from the Deputy CEO’s office, after all. Give Mia some face, okay?”

Following him into the CEO’s office, Justin Kingston looked up, hearing Hailey’s words.

”If you don’t give it to me, I’ll ask CEO Kingston for it!” she complained, ”Seriously, so stingy!”

Just when Hailey was about to step towards Justin Kingston, Finn casually picked up two invitation cards from the desk and handed them to her, ”Out.”

His tone was indifferent, as if indicating she wasn’t welcome there.

”.....” She paused, stunned for a moment.

Receiving the invitations from him and opening them, she found that her and Barbara Sutton’s names were handwritten on them. They had been prepared in advance.

”Thank you, CEO Kingston! Thank you, Special Assistant Morgan!” She bowed deeply to Justin and then to Finn, turning around and happily running off.

Finn and Justin’s gazes met.

Finn said, ”CEO Kingston, those two female employees just came to apologize, might have been related to Hailey Hale.”

Justin seemed thoughtful but didn’t say anything, ”Hmm.” He withdrew his gaze and continued his work, not asking Finn how he handled it.

Finn also returned to his office chair.

After a while, Justin’s thin lips parted slightly, ”Still no news on Monica Usher?”

”Not for the moment, but we are continuously looking for her, and Lydia Ingram is keeping a close watch, too.”

”Hmm.”

In the deputy CEO’s office next door, Hailey Hale placed an invitation card on Barbara Sutton’s desk, ”For you!”

Barbara looked up at her as she quickly returned to her own position.

Lowering her gaze to the invitation, Barbara picked it up and opened it, surprised and excited to see her own name on it!

Looking up again at the girl opposite her, she couldn’t say even a word of thanks.

Barbara felt very happy and a little touched.

Tomorrow night at The Victoria Hotel, the Kingston Group’s charity gala, held once every five years, will take place here.

The event setup becomes grander each year, which everyone can see. She had only seen it on TV before, but this year she could actually attend in person.

For Barbara Sutton, this was the highlight of her career.

But, she didn’t have a gown...
