Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 504: Chapter 504: Cooking Noodles for Her

”Boo hoo...” The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. With her parents not around, she felt like a tiny weed, helpless and alone, having gone hungry all day with no strength left.

Finn Morgan had not anticipated this—how did things end up with her crying?

”Hey? I’m not trying to kick you out; I want you to take your medicine,” Finn explained.

She cried even harder, ”Boo hoo...” sobbing with snot and tears streaming down her face.

Finn, a guy, had never seen such a scene before.

He was highly adaptable in the business world, but now he was utterly at a loss.

”Alright, stop crying, stop crying,” he reached out again to scoop her up, pulling her into his arms. ”Take your medicine first, then I’ll make you some noodles, okay?”

”Boo hoo...” She was caught up in her emotions and couldn’t control herself for a moment, but as soon as she heard about the noodles, her stomach started growling.

Finn suddenly understood her sense of grievance. As the mayor’s daughter, cherished and pampered from a young age, she couldn’t return home without a key, spent the day sick in someone else’s home, with no family around, and couldn’t even find a place to get a drink of water.

It was a feeling of loneliness.

He stopped talking, and on her own, after crying for a bit, her emotions gradually calmed down.

Leaning against his chest, she sniffled, ”Where’s the medicine?”

Finn handed the medicine bottle with a straw to her lips. Hailey Hale, who never took medicine, finished the bottle of brown liquid, its bitterness making her frown.

Then Finn handed her a tissue, ”Wipe your tears away.”

She reached a hand out from under the covers, took the tissue, and wiped her tears. Her hair was tousled, she was wearing his shirt, her face was pale, her eyes red and swollen, and her body was burning with fever.

Finn told her, ”You’ll feel better soon. The fever should be gone within two hours.”

”Is it really that effective?” she asked skeptically.

”Yes, it’s a special medicine researched by Ian Shelby, CEO Kingston’s personal doctor.”

Hailey was familiar with Ian Shelby; she had seen him in the news and had glimpsed him at Mia Lane and Justin Kingston’s wedding, but they weren’t acquainted, and there had been no interaction.

”Is noodles okay for dinner?” Finn asked her, adding, ”I’m only good at making noodles; otherwise, we’ll have to order takeout.”

”That’s fine, I like noodles.” She was truly starving.

Snuggling back into the covers, Hailey wrapped herself up. Though clearly hot, she felt very cold.

Finn headed to the kitchen and put on an apron, his first time cooking this month.

His kitchen was so spotless that it resembled a model room in a sales office. He really looked like a warm-hearted guy while cooking.

Soon, a steaming bowl of noodles was placed on the dining table. He took off the apron and washed his hands.

”The noodles are ready, get up and eat.” Finn came to the bedroom door.

Hailey removed the covers, and Finn quickly turned his back. After she slipped on her shoes and stood up, fixing her shirt, she asked, ”Why do I smell onions? I don’t eat onions.”

”Just a tiny bit,” Finn said.

”I don’t eat onions,” she said like a child, ”I haven’t had onions since I was little.”

A patient acting finicky is normal.

Finn surprisingly wasn’t annoyed, telling her, ”Then I’ll pick them out for you.” With that, he began to head towards the door.

”Never mind, thank you.” She brushed her teeth, washed her face, and went to the dining room, picking up chopsticks to eat the noodles. ”It actually tastes pretty good.”

”If you like it, finish it. Don’t waste food,” Finn, a firm believer in frugality, said.

She sat in the dining chair, completely disregarding her image, her hair a fluffy mess. Not only did she finish the noodles, but she also drank all the broth.

Perhaps she had been hungry too long, or perhaps Finn’s noodle-making skills were just that good.

”Can you make me another bowl tomorrow morning?” She put down the bowl and chopsticks, let out a burp, and looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Finn stood by the dining table, glancing at her sideways, ”Are you planning on staying long-term?”

”Are you really trying to kick me out?” she said with a frowning pout, looking aggrieved and pitiful.
