Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 289: Chapter 289: Who Doesn’t Care About Saving Face?

Justin Kingston’s gaze revealed a hint of coldness as he ordered, ”Take President Usher to the hospital.”

”Yes.” Two security guards supported Monica Usher and helped her into the car.

Justin glanced coldly, and the nearby employees quickly dispersed.

Hailey Hale cheerfully said to her subordinates, ”You’ve worked hard today, go ahead and take off!”

”Yes, Miss.” Everyone saluted her together.

The subordinates started to leave.

Hailey Hale also turned around and walked toward the café on the ground floor of Kingston Group.

Justin Kingston looked at her back and followed.

Two minutes later.

In the café, suspected to have been cleared, the décor was pastoral and the soundproofing was excellent. Justin Kingston and Hailey Hale sat by the window.

Truth is, with CEO Kingston around, who dares come during work hours?

”You went a bit too far today.” Justin sat back in the chair, dissatisfied as he looked at her, ”She’s the Vice President, after all. Stirring up trouble at the company entrance, what about reputation?”

”Whose reputation? Your sentence lacks a subject.” Hailey Hale sipped her coffee lightly and chuckled, ”Are you concerned about the company’s reputation or hers?”

Justin looked at her, his eyes bearing the signature deep and cold demeanor.

She took another sip of coffee, ”Are you saying the setting was inappropriate? Then I’ll pick a different place next time.”

Hailey Hale lifted her gaze, noticing Justin’s eyes growing fathomlessly deep. She couldn’t grasp what he was thinking; he didn’t seem that angry.

”Actually, you don’t know, she was the one who struck first.” Hailey vented, then seriously explained, ”She got people to hit me yesterday. If those people weren’t so incompetent, Mia and I would have been in trouble!”

Mentioning Mia made Justin’s heart twinge with something.

He was aware of yesterday’s situation.

That’s why he wasn’t very angry today, letting her stir up trouble at the company entrance.

Hailey Hale had chewed a lot of seeds and was thirsty.

She simply put down the silver spoon, picked up the cup, and drained the slightly bitter coffee, particularly gallantly, just like her personality.

Setting down the empty cup, she stood up and said, ”I admit I went a bit too far today, but I was standing up for Mia!” After speaking, she turned and left.

Watching the back that didn’t turn around, Mia’s image floated before his eyes.

Those frames stung his eyes and pierced his heart.

Thinking of her teaming up with Anton Miller to snatch the child at Emerald Cove and wanting to completely flee Riventhal, Justin’s face grew colder.

Whenever he thought of her, his mood soured; delving deeper, would cause splitting headaches, from love to hate.

These damn memories!

What really happened before the accident?

Justin didn’t drink the coffee and also rose to leave.

Intentionally erasing that woman from his mind! Not thinking means no annoyance!

Within the company departments, the news of President Usher getting hit had spread, as many witnessed the scene.

”At least a hundred slaps, right?”

”Her face was swollen, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth, how painful must it be?”

”Pain aside, losing face is a big deal. President Usher surely can’t face us now, can’t walk confidently in the company anymore.”

”Who’s that woman? Such brazen behavior!”

”I heard she’s the mayor’s daughter.”

”Oh, no wonder...”

”I noticed CEO Kingston’s reaction was odd too. Being bullied at his doorstep, his own fiancée should be protected, no? But he seemed to be watching like it’s nothing.”

Finn Morgan halted his steps, taking in all the gossip.
