Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 278: Chapter 278: Coming to the Rescue

Hailey Hale, dressed in hip-hop attire and a baseball cap, walked past the door.

Monica Usher watched that back view, recalling the humiliation at the western restaurant last time, with hatred settling in her eyes.

She happened to see a few thugs playing cards under a tree not far away, cigarettes in their mouths, scars on their faces, clearly not good people.

”Here’s some money for you, do me a favor.” Monica Usher approached them, handing over a generous amount, ”Beat up that girl, just don’t kill her.”

One of the men grabbed the thick wad of cash from the woman’s hand, ”The one wearing the cap?”

”Yes.” Monica Usher coldly stared at that back view, afraid the men might slack off, ”Take a photo as proof, and tomorrow at three in the afternoon, you can come here to get another batch of money.”

”Brothers, let’s go!”

They threw down their cards and chased after Hailey Hale.

Since this route was in a bustling downtown area with a lot of people, they needed to follow her first and then find the right moment to act.

”I’ll take the photo later, and you guys make the move.”

”Got it.”

They quickened their pace.

Soon, Kristina Kingston got out of a Lincoln car, accompanied by Mary, and walked into a bridal shop, ”Hello Ms. Usher.” Although she didn’t like her, Mary understood her position.

Monica, in a good mood, linked arms with the middle-aged woman, ”Auntie, I’m so sorry, asking you to accompany me to try on wedding dresses.”

”I’ve wanted to come for a while, it’s just a pity the wedding dress wasn’t ready yet.” Kristina Kingston smiled broadly, ”Oh, I called Justin; he’s out on business, hope you understand.”

”No problem, I’m just as happy that you came.” Monica Usher, arm in arm with her, stepped forward, ”At such a happy moment, I can’t help but want to call you Mom.”

”Then do it, you’ll have to eventually.” Kristina Kingston took out a bulging red envelope from her handbag, ”This is the payment for calling me that, see, I was prepared.”

”Mom!” Monica Usher was so happy she felt a bit dreamy; she didn’t feel embarrassed at all.

”Yes?” Kristina Kingston responded, handing over the envelope, ”Take it, dear daughter-in-law. In the future, the Kingston Group will rely on you a lot, as the Vice President of the Group, once you have the wedding, I’ll have Justin transfer half of the shares to you.”

Shares?

This was a huge gift, so significant that Monica Usher felt overwhelmed, she never imagined it.

Mary, listening on the side, was equally astonished!

Watching the soon-to-be mother-in-law and daughter-in-law conversing with smiles, her heart felt heavy.

”Auntie, I don’t want the shares, I’m not interested.” This was Monica Usher’s heartfelt response, ”Being by Justin’s side makes me feel very happy. Rest assured, as long as I breathe, I’ll do my part for the company.”

The lily flower shop was nearby, and Hailey Hale had also had someone check that Mia Lane might come by to buy flowers this afternoon.

She planned to try her luck.

A punch suddenly landed on her back, making her stumble forward several steps. After steadying herself, Hailey Hale turned back, and a man launched another fist at her!

Her body instinctively leaned back, and she narrowly dodged the punch!

Then, four men came at her!

She quickly retreated, shouting, ”What are you doing?! I have no quarrel with you! You’ve got the wrong person!”

”We’re just doing a job for money.” The man was blunt, ”No mistake.”

Three men started hitting and kicking her, while the other took photos.

Hailey Hale had only practiced street dance, her physical condition was okay, but she wasn’t skilled at fighting, after all, as the mayor’s daughter, she usually had bodyguards when going out.

She crouched against a wall, covering her head, soon unable to resist any longer.

At this moment, Mia Lane suddenly appeared, what was fighting three men against one woman?

She instinctively stepped up, grasped one man’s wrist, then violently twisted it, delivering an elbow strike to his back, knocking him flat to the ground!

Then a sweeping kick tripped the other three, sending them tumbling!

Hailey Hale looked up in shock, ”Mia Lane?”
