Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 269: Chapter 269: Seeking Memories

Hailey Hale tried to block with her body, but she wasn’t his match. She had no choice but to compromise.

She stepped aside and released the door.

Justin Kingston took two steps forward and entered uninvited.

Justin Kingston had obtained all the information about Hailey Hale. Her behavior in the Western restaurant today conveyed a message—

This girl is genuine, she’s not afraid of the powerful, and she won’t lie.

Hailey Hale glanced at him with displeasure, turned around, and walked towards the sofa, sat cross-legged removing her shoes, like a child.

She didn’t make tea for him, didn’t entertain him, and didn’t want to pay him any attention.

Justin Kingston closed the door himself and sat down on the sofa opposite her.

She reached out, grabbed some melon seeds, and casually cracked them as she lay against the sofa, ”Why are you here? Looking for compensation? How much is that torn-up suit of yours?”

Justin Kingston leaned slightly forward, elbows resting on his knees, fingers lightly interlocking, as he asked pensively, ”Who is Mia Lane?”

The girl paused her melon seed-cracking, surprised, looked at him, ”Did I hear that right?”

”Three months ago, I had a car accident in Aethelburg and was in a coma for a long time, barely escaping life-threatening danger.” Justin Kingston informed her, ”When I woke up, I had lost my memory, couldn’t even recognize my own mother.”

”...” The girl was shocked, her eyes widened.

”So, who is Mia Lane?” The man looked at her, eyes earnest, and his voice gentle.

Hailey Hale took quite a while to regain her composure, ”What about Gigi and Dolly?” She put down the melon seeds, put on her shoes, and personally poured him tea. ”You don’t remember them either?”

”I only remember they are my children, nothing else.” He said sincerely, ”I feel quite unfamiliar with them too.”

She thought for a moment, and suddenly an idea sparked in her mind, ”Let me show you some surveillance footage first.” So, she took out her phone and flipped through it, ”Just a moment.”

”What surveillance footage?”

”The footage from when you came to my house three months ago.” She explained as she adjusted the surveillance, ”Your hand was injured, bleeding a lot, you came to ask me the whereabouts of Mia Lane, do you know how anxious you were? You were almost going crazy back then.”

She handed over the phone, ”Take a look.”

Justin Kingston reached out to take it, watching the scenes in the footage and listening to those dialogues, his brows gradually furrowing.

”You really loved her.” Hailey Hale told him, ”You don’t love Monica Usher, really, believe me.”

He looked up, their eyes met for a while, then he turned back to watch the surveillance footage.

”Mia only appeared in your life in the last six months. I don’t know how you have children together, but she lived alone with the children in Sunshine Village, raising them herself.”

”Seems like the children missed you, wanted to have a dad like other kids, so they found you.”

”Mia is exceptional, she’s the woman I admire the most in my life, curing my grandfather’s stubborn illness, she’s the most renowned pharmacist and also the famous designer Emma.”

”Despite her wealth, she’s been doing poverty alleviation in the village endlessly, integrating with the villagers, leading them to prosper through hard work.”

”At my birthday party, seeing you bring her along, I realized you two were together. Since then, you always kept her by your side, you loved her deeply, every time you looked at her, your eyes lit up.”

Justin Kingston had no impression of what she said.

”Then... what about Monica Usher?” Justin Kingston handed the phone back to her, his brows gently knitted, ”She showed me an album saying we were childhood sweethearts.”

”Let me show you my album first.” Saying so, she opened the album and found the poster for Alice’s debut featuring them, handing it to him.

The girl in the picture... had he seen her before?

”What’s wrong?” Hailey Hale noticed his expression appeared a bit odd.

He closed his eyes, tried to think carefully, and suddenly remembered that rainy day, by the roadside outside his company.

She didn’t hold an umbrella, heading towards the traffic, it was he who rushed over to save her...

”Mia Lane... is her?” Justin Kingston was momentarily dazed, his brows furrowed tightly.
