Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 476: Chapter 11: Black Technology

On the Mechanical Split Star, patent protection is nothing but a scrap of paper.

The reason why people retain some apprehension towards patent protection law is largely because, once a big corporation knows you’re copying its technology, they’ll physically eliminate you.

But for those in the Skull Society, patent protection? These four words mean nothing to me.

Yet, they are always the ones causing trouble for others, and few have the qualification to bother them.

So this time, everyone is quite delighted.

’Mas Sharpness’ kept silent while others persistently managed to draw it out.

’After Illusionary Union was annexed, I predicted this outcome.’

’Still arguing, does it hurt, huh?’ a ’Metal Icon’ jumped out, provoking the other.

’Rather than being pained about technology being stolen, it’s more about being curious, that my product could actually be reverse-engineered.’

At this, others stopped teasing, while on the other end of the communication device, expressions varied.

Corporations will physically eliminate competitors.

As for members of the Skull Society, they have a different style.

The only reason they don’t care about technology leaking is, even if they show you, can you really learn it?

’Bandai, get closer, let me see if the other side is truly replicating the technology?’ spoke the ’Eight-Clawed Monster’.

The researcher with a toy attachment walked not far from the ’Continent Plate Impact Device’.

Countless ’robots’ were busy, some testing, some assembling, they operated like a vast production line, orderly and methodical.

’Impressive.’

’Could they really be learning?’

’How would they learn? By handcrafting it?’

Rarely did members of the Skull Society have differing opinions.

Each of these ’Corporate Monsters’ was proud and lofty; being part of it showed they somewhat recognized each other.

As for someone like ’Mas Sharpness’, who forcibly raised the bar for military contractors from Tier 1 to Tier 2 weapons, they highly acknowledged him.

Nowadays, no matter the level of corporate warfare, without a few ’Tier 2 Weapons’, not to mention a Continent Plate Impact Device, a kind of strategic weapon, one wouldn’t dare step outside.

All of this is thanks to this emerging military giant.

’Technology can be analyzed, hardware can be accumulated, materials can be acquired, nothing is impossible.’

The words of Mas Sharpness halted the discussion.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the communication device, a metal face fell into deep thought.

’However, this level of ’technology integration,’ could the other side also—’

In the ’Continent Plate Impact Device’, there are at least tens of thousands of new mechanical components; how did the other side figure out their purposes so quickly?

Are they really that talented?

’Bandai, check other places.’

’I’m starting to take some interest in Du Gao Technology.’

’Hurry up, hurry up.’

Every member of the Skull Society had sharp eyes; they could naturally see that the ’Tier 3 Weapon’ had nearly been reverse-engineered by the other side.

’Hmm, this person’s status is still a bit low, let me see—’

The toy face glanced around, quickly setting sight on a target, a Mediterranean warrior, with long, sparse hair, clearly of high rank, muttering as surrounding armed robots didn’t stop him at all.

’Him, then.’

In the next moment, Dong Gang shivered, gave a puzzled look around, and once again delved into his own world.

’Oh, turns out he’s a notable neuroscience scholar.’

The toy face searched through his memories, a bit surprised.

’Dong Gang, a notable neuroprosthetic scholar, specializes in neural prosthetic transformation, neural splicing, chip transformation development...’

An ’Eyeball Icon’ released a string of text, and its text was intriguing, as if each word was written by different people.

’Oh, recognition, you’re awake.’

’Facial recognition, showing off your useless technology again.’ The ’Software Icon’ mocked.

The ’Eyeball Icon’ sent a furious expression.

’How many times do I have to tell you, I don’t research something as outdated as facial recognition, I research soul recognition!’

’Alright, alright, just a joke, so what did you recognize?’ The ’Software Icon’ drawled lazily.

’This Dong Gang is in good spirits, he’s made progress in his research direction, and what’s more, he’s recently received a large grant to apply ’neural connection technology’ on mechas to achieve automatic assembly and combination.’

’Wait, mechas, right, Du Gao Technology, isn’t it the company involved in anti-colonial efforts in colonies?’

’Seems like it.’

’It’s them.’

’Interesting.’

Besides the continent plate where the Mechanical City is located, this planet has numerous ’colonial plates.’

The so-called ’colonial plates’ were areas with the fiercest resistance in the Old Civilization Era.

In these areas, during the Mechanical Era, they all became ’colonies’, or in other words, corporate experimental areas.

There, all kinds of companies can obtain the cheapest ’artificial data’, and even customize ’experimental subjects’.

With oppression comes resistance.

So, the ’Rebel Army’ was born.

With the army comes the need for arms, and in fact, there have always been people doing business with the Rebel Army on the Black Market in secret.

But for a company like ’Du Gao Technology’, to clearly state their position that their biggest client is the rebels, that’s quite rare.

What Gao didn’t know was that besides being the chairman of ’Du Gao Technology’, Director Du had also become a ’must-kill target’ for many colonial governors.

Ranked high on the assassination list of the global Black Market.

To be honest, this indiscriminate, confrontational style is quite in line with the style of the Skull Society.

’Dong Gang’ unknowingly took the descending elevator all the way to the ’Undersea Laboratory’, the site of the Earth Crust Engine’s remnants.

As the door opened, many members of the Skull Society showed expressions of surprise.

The reason being, in this massive test base with the seawater drained, at the center of the operations of numerous unmanned machines, a ’giant Mechanical Ball’ appeared in everyone’s ’line of sight’.

Although the ’Mechanical Hub’ was only half-built, everyone recognized it at first glance.

The Mechanical Main Brain!?

’Whoa, this is kind of awesome!’ The ’Metal Icon’ popped up again, expressing some surprise.

As the symbol of the Mechanical City, whether from a contextual or purely technical standpoint, the ’Mechanical Hub’ is quite terrifying.

Compared to it, the ’Continent Plate Impact Device’ is just a little brother.

”Interesting!”

For the first time, Mas Sharpness’s message included an exclamation mark.

’Uh, I know everyone is excited, but I personally suggest that Bandai you better run quickly.’

The ’Software Icon’ made a funny face.

’You’ve been discovered.’

As expected, the next moment, the old-fashioned red alarm light suddenly lit up, and amidst the piercing alarm, countless mechanical claw people with flight templates surged out of the Mechanical Hub, forming a dense swarm with a strong sense of déjà vu.

’So the production template has been installed.’

Behind the communication device, Mas Sharpness muttered to himself.

”Interesting, but why?”

’Dong Gang’ was bewilderedly pinned down by several mechanical claw people, and as he was pinned, the grimace on his face disappeared and reappeared on another staff member’s face.

”Strange, does this Du Gao Technology have surveillance technology I’m unaware of?”

Another staff member was also pinned down in seconds, and simultaneously several metal gates opened, with numerous bizarre spiders crawling out, these spiders were not only huge but also had facial features, looking like ’distorted human forms’.

These spider people spat webs everywhere, and as the white silk threads entangled all over, the electromagnetic field quickly became chaotic.

And Bandai’s ’toy possession’ relies on the existence of the magnetic field.

People have a life magnetic field, bionic men have electromagnetic fields, and mechanical life also has electromagnetic waves.

Although Bandai is said to sell toys, at its core, it’s actually a very rare ’energy development company’.

’I can’t keep watching, I’m out of here, folks.’

Bandai’s humorous face possessed everything along the way, ultimately escaping the underground research center before the spider silk could completely seal it off.

’Weapons, heavy machinery, biochemical technology, this company has a pretty varied research direction.’

Even though Bandai was discovered, he remained calm and even had time to provide some popular science for the members of the Skull Society.

’Oh, and I forgot to mention their Rebel Army Mechas that they’re developing.’

’Look at your feet,’ the ’Software Icon’ suddenly said.

’Huh?’

Bandai suddenly lowered his head, only to see on Fucheng Island, numerous mechanical bodies began to transform, and a gigantic female mechanical face appeared over the entire island.

That was Director Du’s face, or rather, the face of a super industrial AI.

’This is—’

Bandai’s vision went black, and his avatar suddenly lost connection.

The ’Metal Icon’ nudged ’Mas Sharpness’.

’When was the technology of your industrial AI stolen?’

Very few people knew that as a corporate leader, Mas Sharpness was also a super industrial AI.

’It wasn’t stolen, and judging by the conversion time, it seems they developed it themselves.’

’Could it be a pawn of some pure Mechanical Civilization?’

The ’Metal Icon’ murmured to himself, thinking that besides the freak Mas Sharpness, it was almost impossible for anyone on this planet to light up the technology tree of a ’pure Mechanical Civilization’.

However, it doesn’t seem like it.

As Director Du locked onto ’Bandai’, in a network node within Cyber Space, Gao Yuanyuan was tilting her head, staring at the holographic screen.

The content on the screen was the chat channel of the Skull Society.

”Strange, who are they?”

”Should I take action?”

The voice of Paradise Bird rang out, and a small Flame Bird icon lit up on the holographic screen.

”Big sister, that would be a big help.”

”Hmm.”

The next moment, the members of the Skull Society simultaneously received a warning from the Corporate Will.

Their systems had been hacked.
