Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 462: Chapter 3: Tier 2 Faction and Quest Interaction_2

However, the Marine Species are quite the opposite. To prevent water penetration, their body surfaces are often completely sealed, and they may even secrete water-repelling oils.

The Invisibility Type, Perception Type, and Environmental Simulation Type are the three main categories of Marine Mechanical Beasts.

These three can actually be collectively referred to as the Dark Jungle Hunting Type.

In the depths of the ocean, there are only unknown enemies and no possible friends.

The Trilobite felt a sweat break out. If he died, so be it; three days later, he’d be a hero again.

But if the mixed-blood girl died, she’d be gone for good.

Incidentally, he gave the girl a very nice name, ’Pandora’.

Just when the Trilobite pulled Pandora behind a reef, the ’Ship Beast’, after enjoying a feast of fish, was still not satisfied. Its lure-like sensing organ lit up and swam in the direction of the Trilobite.

Just when the Trilobite thought he was done for, the ’Ship Beast’ suddenly charged upward and collided with an oversized black sphere, and the two mechanical ocean species instantly began to battle.

The corner of the Trilobite’s eye twitched fiercely; he hadn’t realized that the previous ’Tribal Guard’ had been following them all along.

Pandora was also startled, but she quickly turned around and embraced the Trilobite, speaking in her unique accent.

”We... go back... close the Holy Temple!”

According to Pandora, only the dwelling of the ’Pure-blood Elder’, the so-called Holy Temple, could completely solve the berserk state of the ’Tribal Guard’.

Of course, Pandora wasn’t brainlessly trying to go it alone. According to her, the plan was to contact all the branch tribes of the Ocean People and join forces.

Without a second thought, the Trilobite agreed, for a simple reason: he received a mission—

’Rescue the Ocean People’

...

Meanwhile, far away in the Land of Flames, the high-ranking Mechanical Hunter leaders suddenly received an order from the leader—to dispatch Biological Hunters with underwater organs to carry out a special task.

Sun Hong, once of the Security Corps’ Biological Transformed Soldiers and now the commander of the Biological Troops, was in charge of this mission.

Looking at the thousands of Biological Hunters before him, Sun Hong, dressed in military uniform, wasted no words, gestured, and in the next moment, countless single molecule lines shot out. Countless figures flickered and disappeared into the jungle in just a few breaths.

The millions of points in the Hunter Camp weren’t earned just by selling mechas.

In fact, in the global mercenary realm, the ’Hunters’ of the Mechanical Hunters are as famous as the mercenaries of the Sub-human Continent.

Mysterious biotechnology and special mechanical transformations work wonders in special missions.

In fact, the fame of some advanced Hunters no longer lags behind world mercenaries.

...

After contacting people, Gao recalled that his ’Alliance Panel’ had almost finished updating.

It had advanced from a Level 1 Camp to a Level 2 Camp.

Sure enough, upon opening the ’Alliance’, a series of notifications chimed in.

[Your Tier 1 Camp ’Mechanical Hunters’ has upgraded to a ’Tier 2 Camp’, Leader Reputation +3000]

[’Alliance Map’ function unlocked]

[You can randomly add a ’Soldier Species’, or enhance a specific species in the camp]

[You randomly gained a ’Tier 2 Architecture’]

[You randomly gained a Leader Device (Alliance exclusive)]

[You gained Mechanical System Fragment *1]

[You gained Alliance Specialty - Biological/Mechanical Transformation Package]

[Your camp’s attractiveness increased, making it easier to recruit Tier 2 talent]

...

After glancing at the alliance points, sure enough, they’d gone from 100,000 to 1 million, with all previous points erased.

Gao could clearly feel that this kind of camp enhancement subtly boosted the system’s effectiveness.

This is something a player system without an ’Alliance Template’ couldn’t sense at all.

Should I add a soldier type randomly or enhance a species? Gao thought for a moment and decided to enhance, as it’s guaranteed.

[You chose to enhance ’Mechanical Claw People’]

[Enhancement completed, ’Mechanical Claw People’ gained ’Flight Module’]

In the holographic projection, the Mechanical Claw People, who were originally akin to ’Mechanical Samurai’, swelled up in the back, looked much uglier, and had a strong déjà vu.

’Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?’

Gao was stunned. With the addition of the flight module, the Mechanical Claw People suddenly looked somewhat like fully metallic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This is a bit odd.

”Uh...”

Luckily, despite this awkward appearance, the mechanical energy of this species increased by 30,000, and its level went from 30 to 33, evolving from a mere street fighting frenzy to a flying street fighting frenzy.

For the Tier 2 architecture, Gao hesitated for a moment and instead chose to open the leader equipment.

[You obtained the ’Mechanical Control Ring’]

Gao’s pinky felt a bit itchy, and as he instinctively touched it, a peculiar hexagonal ring appeared on his finger.

Gao was overwhelmingly moved, tears welling up. Damn it, the system can finally create objects!!!

He finally understood what this system ’evolution’ sensation was for.

You’d find it hard to understand this feeling if you haven’t played as a player.

It’s like sweetness after suffering!

Name: Mechanical Control Ring (Alliance exclusive)

Category: Remote Control Device

Quality: Tier 2

Attributes: Intelligence +10, Perception +10

Note: Holds the highest control over all model intelligent mechas in the ’Mechanical Hunters’ camp.

Gao immediately understood that this thing was built on the ’Universal Machine Consciousness’.

Controlling all mechas is rather like manipulating all ’Onboard Intelligence’.

Or rather, it’s an iterative product of ’Onboard Intelligence’ itself.

In the end, it’s a creation under the rules of the game. Without ’Onboard Intelligence’, this ring might have to switch to something else.

’Tsk tsk, no wonder this is something I stole from a Level 9 Civilization. It’s indeed advanced.’

Gao happily opened the transformation package.

[You gained Alliance Specialty ─ Mechanical Transformation Package/Biological Transformation Package]

The exterior of the Mechanical Transformation Package resembled a fist-sized mechanical box, while the Biological Transformation Package was like a fist-sized lump of flesh.

Name: Mechanical Transformation Package

Category: Logistics Equipment

Quality: Tier 2 - Whiteboard

Note: Due to the unique profession of Mechanical Hunters, each ’Hunting Transformation’ direction is different, making it difficult to instantly find suitable ’repair parts’. Users can input their mechanical body data into the ’Transformation Package’, which will switch to repair mode and transform the damaged parts of the mechanical body accordingly.

The Biological Transformation Package similarly allows for such changes, with ’mechanical body data’ replaced by ’biological cells’.

This thing is quite impressive!

It’s akin to a low-end version of ’Memory Metal Cells’.

This greatly compensates for a Hunter profession’s flaw, which is insufficient battlefield repair capability, where common prosthetic implants might work for regular Transformers but not for Hunters.

Even if forced to implant, their attributes would plummet.

Yet, this ’Implant Package’ perfectly solves this issue.

What, Whiteboard? ’Whiteboard’ is good; as a universal piece of equipment, if it were truly ’Fine’ or ’Excellent’, I wouldn’t be able to mass-produce it.

With Du Gao Technology’s current technical level, this kind of ’Tier 2 Junior’ production line is right where they can mass-produce.

System, you did a great job!

I’ll send this information to Director Du later.

”Your mood seems quite pleasant?”

Next to him, the ’Little Woman’ suddenly voiced her curiosity.

”No, an illusion, a delusion.”

Gao denied thrice, and by this time, they had already dived into the deep sea and arrived near the ’Eye of the Ocean’.

The radiation here was indeed terrifyingly high, staining the waters black.

However, it didn’t affect them at all.

”Shall we just do it?”

The ’Little Woman’, or rather, Brain-in-a-Vat, was eagerly preparing to catch and dissect the ’Deity’ worshipped by the Ocean People right away.

In this aspect, she seemed to have absorbed part of ’Professor Han’s’ personality.

”No rush.”

With a thought, Gao opened the ’Alliance Map’, and a small green dot appeared in a hidden trench.

Clicking on the green dot, all attributes of the player named ’Trilobite’ were fully revealed.

Compared to Gao, the difference was truly vast.

But that’s not the point. The point is that Gao saw the other party’s mission—to rescue the Ocean People.

Glancing at the mission introduction, Gao was thrilled, mumbling to himself.

”My profession change task, your evolution task, both have found their resolutions.”
