Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 464: Chapter 5: The Holy Tree Unleashed

”You fought bravely during the daytime battle!”

The admiration and adoration from the mixed-blood girl made the Trilobite feel a bit proud, but the atmosphere was ruined by the burly man who followed.

Name: Charjin Sea King Beast

Race: Ocean People (Intelligent Species)

Racial Talent: Deep Sea Walking, Advanced Oceanic Perception

Hidden Talent (Not Unlocked)

Profession: Deep Sea Warrior lv30, Cloud Wing Knight lv25,

Total Level: 55

Blood Volume: 3600/7000

Skills: Spear Mastery lv7 (Expert), Sea Beast Taming (Expert), Intermediate Energy Mastery, Hand-to-hand Combat (Expert), Trunk Hardening (Proficient), Half-Fishman Form (Expert), ??, ??

Racial Template: Spear of the Tree King

Note: A powerful Tribal Warrior, possessing the deep sea power that nurtures bloodlines, he is one of the few ’Enlighteners’ of the Tree of Wisdom.

’Damn, this guy actually has a template.’

’Enlightener, what is that, a talent tree right?’

The Trilobite didn’t have time to speak when Charjin thumped heavily on his shoulder, while complimenting:

”You fought well, even the mightiest warrior of the tribe hasn’t mastered combat like you, Pandora, you have a good eye!”

Seeing the Trilobite wince in pain, Pandora got angry and stomped on Charjin’s foot.

The blue-skinned burly man didn’t mind at all, looking around, chuckling, and took out a flask.

”Good brother, have a drink!”

The Trilobite’s eye kinked into a hard twitch, quickly refusing, he could tell it smelled like industrial alcohol.

The blue-skinned burly man didn’t care, ’glug’ ’glug’, drinking himself.

This guy is so over the top!

For a long while, under the dizzying smell of alcohol, Charjin finally stopped ’socializing’ and got down to business, solemnly saying: ”I see Brother Trilobite seems to have some knowledge about the Iron Hide? Could you introduce them to us? Our Ocean People have always lived in the deep sea, never offending our friends on shore.”

The Trilobite didn’t hold back and revealed all he knew about the Knight Order. Upon learning that the 15-level Artificial Soldiers (technologically-enhanced versions) were the lowest soldier species of the faction, with Advanced Combatants, Biomechanical Knights, Great Knights, these super strong forces above, their faces changed immediately.

Especially after knowing that the Knight Order was a terrorist organization notorious for ’human research’, not just in the deep sea, but globally, even causing a stir outside the tents.

Charjin also ceased smiling, his face turning grim as he said: ”I heard from Pandora that your faction is a righteous force opposing the Knight Order, could you lend us a hand? We can meet any demands!”

The Trilobite was about to say he wasn’t worth much, but seeing the look of clutching at straws in their eyes, he couldn’t help but sigh.

”I’ll try, but you better not have high hopes.”

Everyone else left, leaving Pandora to stroll with the Trilobite. The Trilobite glanced at Charjin, who was encouraging the soldiers, and couldn’t help but shake his head.

If words were as useful as cannons, they wouldn’t need them.

”By the way, what’s that?”

The Trilobite turned his head, staring at the creature perched on a tree branch of the Tree of Wisdom, pecking its wings.

”That’s the Sea King Beast, a Cloud Wing Beast tamed by Charjin outside.”

Most Ocean People have only a name and no surname unless they achieve something significant and earn a surname.

Taming a level 38 Marine Species Radiation Beast undoubtedly counts as such an achievement.

This thing is like a winged, mutation-spiked Tiger Shark, and yes, although it doesn’t have legs, its wings allow it to fly short distances.

Name: Sea King Beast

Race: Radiation Beast - Ocean Phylum - Radiation Shark Class

Radiation Level: B-

Life Value: 65620/86420

Physical Strength Value: 6551/65511

Mechanical Energy: 185700

...

Goodness, it’s actually a B-level Beast!

The B-level Radiation Beasts of the Iron Sand Desert are practically extinct nowadays.

Scanning its skills, he found quite a few, including ’Beast Bite’, ’Bone Piercing’, and others, totaling more than a dozen.

The Trilobite wanted to look further, but the Sea King Beast suddenly turned its head, its massive dull yellow eyes staring at him, swinging its wings, pouncing towards him.

Holy crap, I just casually threw out a detection skill, and it reacted so intensely?

Oh great, my health hasn’t even fully recovered yet.

But to the Trilobite’s surprise, as it pounced, instead of attacking, it hugged him and gave him a thorough licking. Many Ocean People around pointed at him, expressions astonished.

”Alright, alright, stop licking, you’re a fish, not a dog.”

Once the Trilobite, full of saliva and thoroughly disheveled, got up, he saw Pandora looking at him strangely.

”Uh, what’s going on?”

”Do you know why Charjin was able to tame the Sea King Beast?”

”Because he is a descendant of the Tree of Wisdom!”

”Huh!?”

In the Ocean People’s legend, after the deity ’Keramos’ created the Ocean People, he personally planted the first Tree of Wisdom, hoping to bring wisdom to his species. However, only the most talented Ocean People could draw wisdom from the Tree of Wisdom.

”So, Charjin received the blessing of this tree and, even because of this, became the first mixed-blood to enter the Eye of the Ocean for further training?”

Although pure-bloods and mixed-bloods are in a deadly feud currently, Pandora still showed a proud face upon mentioning this.

”Uh,” staring at the massive Holy Tree, the Trilobite didn’t know what to feel. Beneath its sky-blocking canopy, he felt like he was being watched by this colossal marvel plant.

I’m just a land player, nothing to do with you.

”Huh? It seems like someone is standing on the tree’s crown!”

”Our tribe would never do anything to desecrate the divine! So you shouldn’t either!”

Seeing Pandora puffing up her cheeks, the Trilobite hastily apologized and rubbed his eyes. As expected, the figure was gone.

Alas, how did I get mistaken for one of their own?

The Trilobite sighed deeply.

”You go ahead, I’m going to make a call.”

”Hm?”

”What I mean is, I’m going to see if I can gather some people.”

...

Above the tree crown, the ’Little Woman’ looked at Gao Gong, ”Is this your plan?”

Gao Gong smiled, ”You must believe that crisis is the cradle of evolution. The stronger the crisis, the faster evolution happens.”

”If we fail, it’s just the fall of another intelligent species, which is quite common in this world, isn’t it?”

”Let’s get back to our work.”

The next moment, Gao Gong vanished, replaced by countless fleshy vines wrapped around the tree.

And the ’Little Woman’ also disappeared. In her biological domain, a ’Tree of Wisdom’ rose from the ground.

Almost no one knew that this so-called ’Tree of Wisdom’ was not actually an ocean plant, but a type of large genetic beast.

More precisely, it was a genetic ecological beast.

This creature was common in the Carbon-Based Civilization, primarily used for laying eggs or nurturing species.

Name: Genetic Ecological Beast (Holy Tree Form)

Category: Biochemical Architecture

Quality: Tier 1

Weight: 140 tons

Large Module: Enlightenment Module (90% damaged), Genetic Synthesis Module (completely destroyed), Defense Module (56% damaged)

Note: The foundational building of Carbon-Based Civilization, fundamental yet indispensable.

At this moment, under the joint efforts of Gao Gong and the Brain-in-a-Vat, this tree-formed ’Genetic Ecological Beast’ was rapidly recovering.

One provided the body; the other provided the brain.

Once this was sorted out, Gao Gong would have to deal with the deity known as ’Keramos’, or rather, the S-Level Radiation Beast.

...

The second war quickly broke out.

Whether due to a traitor leaking secrets or the Knight Order’s surveillance devices working,

the Pure-blood Elders definitely sensed that this underwater world housed the most young Ocean People.

Thus, the war began.

And it was far more intense than the last time.

Apart from the Tribal Guards, Modified Soldiers, Pure-blood Warriors, the enemy also deployed a super soldier species.

The ’Cloud Wing Knights’, pure-bloods fighting riding Marine Radiation Beasts, like Charjin.

Though they couldn’t match Charjin, who had undergone Carbon Fusion, each one was Tier 1 Full Level at 30th level.

Hundreds of knights charging across the battlefield, crushing everything in their path.

Moreover, besides the Cloud Wing Knights, the biomechanical knights of the Knight Order also appeared on the battlefield. Though few in number, they specifically targeted experts; at this time, Charjin was caught by ten knights in the Biomechanical Unity mode. Even though he charged like an underwater missile, they jointly kept him out of the battlefield, making him yell furiously.

There were also some bizarre individuals in black hoods, who had already infiltrated into the underwater world, heading towards the strongholds of the elderly, women, and children.

”Damn!”

With single-molecule ropes shooting wildly, the Trilobite flew chaotically among various buildings, grabbing one hooded figure, yet this strange figure vanished into thin air.

”Why is there no news from Uncle at all!”

He had sent the situation up, but there was no response from the headquarters. The bearded Hunter he was closest to only replied with a ’Got it’ before going silent.

It’s like being abandoned!

The more Trilobite thought, the more anxious he became. In a daze, it was as if he heard someone whispering in his ear—

’Child, you’ve returned.’

’Child, you’ve finally come.’

’Child...’

”Who the hell are you!?”

The Trilobite cursed angrily, then he saw the ’Tree of Wisdom’ glowing faintly.

It seemed like no one else on the battlefield realized what was happening.

’This—’

In a trance, the Trilobite approached, and for a moment, it was like he entered a state of spiritual separation, seeing everything around him in detachment.

This state persisted until he touched the tree’s trunk.

At that instant, it was as if the whole world beckoned him.

The power of the entire ’Tree of Wisdom’ seemed to merge with him, and in the next moment, white light poured out from the tree, visibly dissolving every enemy in its path.

These rays of light extended until they covered the entire underwater world.

In the next instant, an enormous deity’s phantom appeared above the tree’s trunk.

”I am... Keramos.”

All the Mixed-blood Sea People stared dazedly at their deity, tears welling in their eyes.

The next moment, they all felt an endless power pouring into them.

Conversely, the Pure-blood Ocean People were greatly impacted, as they felt their power being drained away.

’Hey, kid, look up.’

In the communication device, the bearded Hunter had suddenly left this message.

The Trilobite looked up.

The Hunters fell like rain.
