Chapter 469: Chapter 8: Brain Dead Machine

At the Eye of the Ocean’s core, ancient submarines covered in rust and moss lay beneath the waters, some reduced to mere metal scrap with interiors filled with water.

Yet, some of these submarines are still operational, which is abnormal.

If you are a planet civilization, and if this civilization happens to be on a planet mainly composed of the ocean.

When the technology tree reaches a certain level, a choice inevitably appears: outward or inward.

Outward means exploring outer space.

Inward, however, divides into two paths: one being the excavation of the planet to establish an underground world, and the other is entering the ocean, which covers over 50% of the surface.

Depending on which technology branch you illuminate, your choice naturally varies.

High-tech materials that resist water and pressure, and advanced energy materials that absorb high temperatures from the Earth’s core, whichever is discovered first, will be used first.

However, obviously, these World War II era submarines did not have such advanced materials.

They have endured these many years because an S-level entity has suppressed this area, causing other Radiation Beasts to dare not approach at all.

Moreover, its own energy has maintained the submarines’ functionalities.

However, just then, the sound of an alarm suddenly rang out, with red emergency lights flashing wildly, piercing noises incessantly echoing.

The style is rather old-fashioned.

Those wearing bulky waterproof suits raised their heads, revealing faces with pointed noses and monkey-like cheeks, resembling apes that anyone might believe.

These are the first generation sea dwellers, mutants with human genes mixed with genes of some ocean species.

This was also the appearance Gao Gong had seen a long time ago.

According to human aesthetics, they are extremely ugly, even less pleasing than their gene offspring.

But this is normal; under the mode of survival evolution, appearance is certainly the last human project to be adjusted.

In stark contrast to their ugly appearance, however, is their intelligence.

Name: First-Generation Ocean Dwellers

Species: Cloned Mutants

Profession: Biological Transformer

Biological Attributes: Power 3, Agility 4, Endurance 4, Intelligence 100, Perception 25

Note: Do not underestimate these alien-looking guys; generally, the uglier they are, the higher their intelligence.

These First-Generation Ocean Dwellers are no exception; in fact, they regard themselves as advanced intelligent species, whether purebred or mixed, all merely their products.

These ’Water Monkeys’ are recognized and beloved offspring of ’Keramos.’

In addition to these First-Generation Ocean Dwellers, there are also Knight Order scientists, operating specialized biological instruments.

As the alarm blared, the scientists revealed anxious expressions one by one.

Many of them were abducted from various research institutions by the Knight Order, so they panicked easily at even the slightest threat.

”Don’t be nervous, it’s just that our ’Mother’ has been invaded,” a Water Monkey Scientist said calmly.

’...’

”That’s not right, how can a Cyber Hacker invade a biological network?”

An old scientist with graying hair suddenly realized the issue.

”The enemy is rather unique. I need you to notify your superiors; we need the assistance of the Knight Order.”

The scientists hurriedly reported upward, and soon, the sound of chaotic footsteps arrived, as the Female Standard Bearer appeared with a group of knights undergoing flesh and machinery transformations.

Though the Female Standard Bearer wore a mask, it could not hide her robust figure, with terrifying muscle lines, hips like iron weights, and a chest that could draw out a Guan Saber.

More frighteningly, she was nearly three meters tall, making everyone in her eyes look almost like dwarves.

”Situation!”

The Water Monkey Scientist wasted no words, promptly opening a ’Holographic Projection.’

A mass of intestines appeared before the gathering crowd.

This pile of intestines, seemingly freshly plucked, still had blood and digestive matter on the surface, yet this was the essence of ’Keramos’—magnified over a hundred times.

The Female Standard Bearer frowned, observing this object; though not the first time she’s seen it, it’s truly ugly.

However, when you have only the digestive, circulatory, and neural systems, you are unlikely to look any better.

After a flurry of operations at the console, the Water Monkey Scientist brought up three kinds of radiance, with the percentages of three systems emerging simultaneously.

The percentage of the digestive system was rapidly decreasing.

65%, 64%, 63%, 62%...

Once it drops below 50%, it becomes very dangerous.

This indicates that this system has been nearly fully hacked.

”How did the enemy manage to invade?” the Female Standard Bearer questioned, frowning.

”A unique method of invasion, seeming to assimilate through bioelectricity,” the Water Monkey Scientist replied calmly.

”Bioelectric assimilation?”

The Female Standard Bearer frowned deeply.

If the opponent truly masters this technology, it becomes troublesome, for only dead organisms completely lose bioelectricity.

And bioelectricity only differs in potential difference, which is the intensity of electricity.

This means that even S-level and F-level Radiation Beasts use the same kind of bioelectricity.

”There are now two ways: the first is to transform ’Mother’ into a biological computer. Once transformation is successful, we can rely on powerful spiritual power to expel the enemy.”

”The second is for you to personally take action to expel the enemy.”

The Water Monkey Scientist looked toward the Female Standard Bearer.

”After all, you are the Black Standard Bearer.”

The Black Standard Bearer, officially the Black Hacker Standard Bearer, is one of the few in the Knight Order, existing as a nemesis of hackers.

Although this woman possesses a powerful physique like a close combatant, she is, in essence, a bona fide Network Killer.
