Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 426: Chapter 174: The Goddess Awakening Soon

The three giants are fiercely contending, while the players are advancing the story.

The ’Major Nightmare Task’ they’ve received is called ’Street Revolution.’

Gao Gong wrote a bunch of spirited introductions, basically saying the Mechanical Main Brain doesn’t treat people like humans, and the corporations treat people even less so. As the prominent figures on the street, they must resist, blah, blah, blah.

Many high-end players immediately exerted their ’Second Creation capabilities,’ interpreting it as an inevitable battle between the Mechanical Main Brain and the corporation, which will undoubtedly lead to mutual destruction.

And their true goal is to eliminate both, liberate thoughts, and liberate humanity.

In a sense, that’s not incorrect.

First, the Mechanical Eyeliner attacked Illusion Mansion, confirming the players’ ideas.

Now, as Mechanical Eyeliner commits large-scale killings, the Peacekeepers have abandoned pursuing them and started confronting the Mechanical Eyeliner, deepening their thoughts.

However, when they prepared to act, they suddenly discovered a problem with their own condition.

[’Chip Devouring,’ Neural Response Speed -40%, Intelligence -5, Perception -5, Status: Consumes 5 points of Blood Volume per second]

”What the hell is this?”

”Did the system up the difficulty without warning?”

”We can’t even fight like this; we’ll just be drained to death.”

But in the next moment, a smell of blood wafted from the street, followed by a blood mist like a tornado storm. Wherever it passed, an indescribable feeling of comfort surged from within.

[Your level +5 (temporary), free attribute points +10 (temporary), your Neural System Transformation Rate +5% (temporary), Power +20%, Agility +20%, Recovery rate 10 Blood Volume/second]

Players were shocked to find that their negative state was not only neutralized but also enhanced.

Genetic Sublimation: Elevating existing genes through artificial evolution to a higher level.

This is the ability of the ’Genetic Leader Template.’

Simply put, Gao Gong used his flesh and blood strength to give players temporary enhancements.

The next moment, a number of ’Simple,’ ’Ordinary,’ ’Difficult’ side quests appeared, and the experience rewards were generally 3 to 5 times what they were before.

Moreover, the tasks were all similar, taking advantage of the conflict between both parties at various locations and directions to accelerate the spread of ’viruses.’

...

”The Boss finally made his move!” Baozi muttered to himself.

Around him gathered more than twenty high-end players eager to defeat the boss dungeon.

As a player involved from start to finish in this task, he considered himself more insightful about the true nature of the task than others.

The superficial story is the confrontation between two powerful forces, the corporation and the Mechanical Main Brain.

But behind it, the Boss is orchestrating things.

So he is certain that at a certain point in time, the Boss will inevitably take action.

And once the Boss makes a move, that’s their perfect opportunity to strike. He plans to play big!

He plans to hack a major server with the ’Laughing Virus.’

The sound of a friend on the panel comes up—

’Has it started over there? Can I make my move?’ PP Boss.

’Act according to the plan.’

’Okay!’

In an office building in the Business District, PP Boss glanced left and right, calmly stood up, and carried a water cup to the restroom.

First, she took a pill with water, which could enhance spirit and perception, and then she entered a bathroom and retrieved a cracked version of the ’Network Implantation Pod’ wrapped in a plastic bag from the sink.

As the corporation’s ’Neural Editor,’ she could only use the department-issued implantation pod for technology confidentiality.

But it was clear PP Boss was there to stir up trouble.

In these days, taking advantage of the chaos due to corporate mergers, she opened backdoors everywhere, installed cracked software, and stole executive accounts for this moment!

She couldn’t stand being brainwashed twice while playing a broken game!

She, this ’007,’ endured humiliation all these days for this moment!

Overthrow the corporation, seize the moment!

...

Meanwhile, an organization formed by high-end players also prepared to play big.

Hackers, Fire Starters, Liu Dehua, Yanzi, Debt Collectors

Five members of the Evil Jade Clan.

Although they lacked Mortars and Scissorhands, they gained several ruthless new faces.

”This is the terrain map I obtained.” Hei Bing No. 2 stated calmly.

”Have the points for explosives been determined?” Fire Starter asked.

”All settled, but there are several layers of guards we must break through,” the fully armed Hacker spoke expressionlessly.

”Yanzi, this time you’re responsible for the rear guard.”

”No problem!” Yanzi licked his lips, a touch of frenzy added to his innocent face.

”Last time we failed to blow up the Twin Towers, but this time we’ll definitely destroy the Illusion Mansion!”

...

In a similar action, Eldest Brother Hui also appeared in Saint Domingo District, outside a Steel Claw Gang base, talking to a holographic projection.

As a member of a huge gang family with members distributed across various continents, Eldest Brother Hui came here not only to participate in the large-scale Nightmare-level dungeon but also with a clan task, related to the Steel Claw Gang.

”Leader, the family’s private space station usage rights are limited, we have to aim carefully before taking action!” a gang Elite said nervously.

”Don’t worry, no problem.”

...

Compared to the ambitious high-end players, Sister Ji was also ambitious, but her ambition went in a different direction.

She heard that in the legendary network of Nightless City, there is a sanctuary of the Cyber Race, filled with various paper-doll wives, and of course, husbands too.

As a player dedicated to uncovering hidden functions in the game, how could Sister Ji pass up on this matter?

While others were up to something, so was she.

It’s just that the directions they were working towards were different.

Finally, after enduring great hardship, she found the network access port to open the ’sanctuary’ in an abandoned hospital in reality.

”All the pretty ladies and handsome gentlemen, everyone’s husbands and wives, Sister is coming in!”

With a strange giggle, she plugged in her implants into the insertion port, and the next moment, it was as if she had opened the door to a new world.

”Huh??”

”Huh???

Capsule Man H looked blankly at this strange woman who suddenly came online and then checked the time, it’s not launch time yet.

Meanwhile, Sister Ji was equally dumbfounded looking at the spectacled recluse in front of her.

And behind the recluse, a massive, endless army of recluses.

What the hell! Where’s the manga, the 3D section, the fanfiction section, where’s the sanctuary you promised?

Why are there only recluses, do you think this is a convention?

...

At the same time, the three-member group of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, Pupil, Collider, and Chapai, were sitting inside a ’Hidden Guard Machine’.

The Hidden Guard Machine was hidden not far from outside the city.

Pupil’s neural modeling had been completed, and now ’Nightless City’ was like the center of a storm, the data fluctuations even surpassed typical societal transformations.

”As members of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, by regulation, we shouldn’t be involved in such matters,” Pupil’s tone was light, clearly showing that as the most unruly department among the Six Ministries, they seldom acted according to conventional methods.

”I’ll go along with whatever,” Collider shrugged, ”but to be honest, Big Sister should be very interested in the old man’s news.”

Pupil looked at Chapai.

Chapai glared with dead fish eyes.

”Have you forgotten that I was previously kidnapped by the Mechanical Main Brain?”

”Or do you think I’m the kind of fool who can just forgive and forget?”

Pupil, having long served as the strategist for Captain Suzi and rarely leading operations herself, lacked decisiveness.

Collider couldn’t help but add, ”Friendly reminder, Mr. G’s people have already acted, whatever you plan to do, you better decide quickly.”

”Or ask Captain Suzi?” Chapai quipped.

Pupil took a deep breath and made a decision.

”Hidden Guard Machine, record this: In the 9-3 district, the Mechanical Main Brain is rebelling, a mutated personality is trying to devour the dominant personality. I am Pupil, the head of the third network division of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, and I am initiating ’special operations’ against the Mechanic Generation, record complete.”

Looking at the eager expressions of the other two, Pupil still warned:

”Remember, we’re only targeting the Mechanic Generation, not participating in corporate battles!”

”No problem!”

”It should’ve been like this long ago!”

...

Just as the Ghost in the Shell trio decided to act, the first wave of attacks had already appeared.

Six mercenaries who completed carbon fusion, along with over a hundred level 30 Sub-human Continent martial artists, began assassinations of Illusionary Union executives and conducted explosive operations in various labs and data centers as per ’corporate warfare’ rhythm.

Illusionary Union indeed had the stature of a giant corporation, but this emerging giant had never experienced ’corporate warfare’ before.

With such suddenness, the effect was extraordinary!

No one knew that, with someone’s warning, before the first wave of nuclear strikes on the Sub-human Continent, several major families already began migration and informed their affiliated clans.

Of course, there were stubborn armed clans who didn’t heed the warning, and they became radioactive waste.

”Patriarch Yao Xue, I’m going to take action too,” Daisila said to Yao Xue, looking at the holographic screen showing various attack directions.

”You’re also participating in the revenge action?” Yao Xue was a bit surprised, why didn’t you say anything before?

”No, it’s the boss’s order, I have another mission.”

”Where are you acting?”

”In the Saint Domingo District.”

A glimmer of realization flashed in Yao Xue’s eyes, among the three major gangs currently, only one has its base camp in that area.

Deep Web Weaver.

Everyone’s a spider, maybe there’s a common language.

”By the way, when you come back, I want a good chat with you about ’Du Gao Technology.’

Regardless of the outcome of this battle, armed clans can no longer stand on the Sub-human Continent.

They need to find new factions to depend on.

For now, the new force, ’Du Gao Technology,’ from the military contractor perspective is a very good choice.

Not too strong for the armed clan to become cannon fodder, nor too weak to be of no reliance value, and with great development potential.

Yet Daisila shook her head and said:

”Business negotiations are not my forte, you should discuss with my boss.”

Yao Xue was stunned, ”Isn’t your boss Mr. G?”

”No, Mr. G is just the man behind our boss.”

...

Meanwhile, inside the building hacked by the 7th Spider Woman in the Main Brain Area.

Calls echoed one after another—

”Seventh Woman, Seventh Woman, where are you?”

”The Goddess is about to awaken, immediately return to your post, return to your post!”
