Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 414: Chapter 165: Meet and Greet

’Holy shit, this game actually has dungeons?’

’Holy shit, this game actually has an official team?’

’Holy shit, this game actually has a GM?’

With the players’ ”holy shit” moments, soon almost all the players on Mechanical Split Star joined the pinned post and engaged in heated discussions. The hype was so widespread, it even caught the attention of players suffering on other planets.

’Why do the players on Mechanical Split Star get an official announcement and we don’t? We want large dungeons too!’

’Isn’t the mechanical rebellion on Planet N43 large enough? How much bigger do you want it to be?’

’A social experiment? Is this how the game is played? It’s not about grinding and leveling up, but social reform?’

’We Tentacle Star people declare that our planet is healthy, beautiful, and kind, with nothing that needs reform!’

This alien player said this while uploading a selfie.

In the photo, a ’Mini K’ stretched out two tentacles making a peace sign, sharp teeth vividly clear, with a mysterious creature’s leg meat hanging from the corner of the mouth.

’Does this mean the game’s universe protagonist is on Mechanical Split Star, so the large dungeon starts from this planet? Damn, reincarnated on the wrong star, guys!’

’Can’t say that for sure, maybe this is just the beginning. Soon various dungeon tasks might refresh.’

’Players drifting in the nebula as informational organisms say, who cares about reform, just conjure up a creature! The game’s been open for three months, and I haven’t even seen an NPC, let alone players.’

’Holy shit, nebula, informational organism, dude what level are you? I can’t even fly!’

’We Birdman Race declare, we can fly from birth.’

...

Compared to the chaotic player forums, players on Mechanical Split Star have already started taking swift actions. Various small player groups, like Nightless City Player Group, Crime City Player Group, 9-3 Group, Mischief Stream Player Group, Dungeon Crawler Stream Player Group, P Players Group, have formed spontaneously.

The discussions were more pragmatic, focusing on the Nightmare-level task, especially since it’s a large Nightmare-level task. How should it be accomplished?

’No need to say more, it must be about overthrowing the capitalists, destroying the Giant Corporation, Night City’s players standing together!’

’After this task, we’ll all be legends!’

This was the conclusion of the Plot Stream Player Group.

’This is making us play Jokers, hahaha, everyone laughs at the Joker, yet everyone is a Joker.’

’I’ll say it just three times, mess things up! Mess things up! Still freaking mess things up!’

’I want to blow up all the buildings in Nightless City!’

This was the consensus of the Crime City Player Group.

’Damn, Moral Chip, crime-free society, this is simply heaven on earth!’

’Those players only wanting experience rewards, do you have no heart? This Utopia-like city, and yet you want to cause destruction?’

’Either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. This time, I choose to become a Night Knight!’

’Kill those filthy gaming perverts!’

This was the consensus of the Justice Knight Group Players.

Besides the Misguiders and those of the Justice Faction, there was also a group of strange Future Imaginers with peculiar focus points.

’Social reform? Can we reform our XP?’

’With social reform on the table, can neutron annihilation, species extinction, and population cleansing be far behind?’

’Can I feed surplus population to the robots?’

No doubt, these were P Players.

Of course, these three groups are only general categorizations.

If counted carefully, even within the Misguiders, there are sub-factions like ’Task Stream’, ’Zero Purchase Stream’, ’Random Destruction Stream’, ’Boss First Kill Stream’.

No way around it, since this is the first large dungeon, and the task completion conditions given are so vague.

Every player has their own understanding of the task.

When consensus can’t be reached, unsurprisingly, the first PvP among players is about to be acted out in reality.

Even the previously very close ’Sister Ji’s Yellow Picture Group’ experienced disagreements.

Sister Ji, the hentai lady, wanted to create chaos through adult content, Baozi wanted to maximize task rewards, I Am a Big Muscle Dominator unexpectedly turned out to be a Justice Stream player, Plane wanted to team up to farm bosses, and PP Boss was asking when she, the undercover agent, should act. In short, a chaotic process, though not as familial in tirades as other groups, threats of ”explosive” retribution were unavoidable.

In the end, the privilege dog Sister Ji waved her hand, directly silencing the whole group.

’I’ve just returned, and you’re showing me this disrespect? Believe it or not, I’ll kill you all!’

’Next up, Baozi has something to say.’

’Everyone, since this is an open world, everyone can play their own way. That’s perfectly fine,’ Baozi posted a classic ’eating popcorn’ emoji.

’But have you all forgotten that to enter the large dungeon, you must first implant the ”Laughing Bat” chip. Can any of you perform the implant surgery yourself? [Sunglasses][Sunglasses]’

’To give you a heads up, the purpose of this chip is quite explosive!’

Sister Ji unsilenced the group, which fell silent for a moment, then the atmosphere shifted 180 degrees.

’Brother Baozi, can you give me a discount? Kisses, mwah mwah.’

’Brother Baozi, I’d offer you a blooming flower in exchange for your manual operation skills.’

’Please take me along, Brother Baozi, I just want to enter the dungeon and play so much. I already PMed you a picture of me in a dress.’

’As confirmed by the LS, without a doubt a crossdresser, unlike me, a pure manly man, kneeling before you, Brother Baozi!’

’I want to be Brother Baozi’s dog!’

’Dad!’

...

While the players were in an uproar, Gao Gong found himself troubled in Cyber Space.

His trouble was that he couldn’t access the Local Area Network of Nightless City.

In front of his ”eyes,” all network nodes of Nightless City were shrouded in white light.

The most troublesome thing in the Cyber Network is not the usual firewall, but a complete data blockade.

Here, data refers to artificial data, or in other words, people.

Obviously, in the current situation, all citizens of Nightless City have been implanted with Moral Chips, which inevitably come with surveillance systems.

This means that no matter where you enter from, you’ll be detected, because you can’t infiltrate an ocean without getting a drop of seawater on you.

’The speed is astonishingly fast,’ Gao Gong frowned.

According to his plan, it would take at least 10 more days for Illusionary Union to complete the deployment of version 4.0 chips.

Unless, they acquired some advanced network equipment to assist?

’Brother, why not enter the Quantum Entanglement State?’ Gao Yuanyuan suggested.

’No, last time I vaguely felt that the Mechanic must have dispatched special virtual weapons from Mother City specifically targeting me.’

’The same tactics can’t be used a second time in front of the Saint.’

’There must be a special entry channel; I just don’t believe that the Powerful Gang, Steel Claw Gang, and Deep Web Weaver are all taken over.’

As long as he can find a network node, even just an ”artificial data,” Gao Gong can make something out of nothing.

’I have a plan,’ Paradise Bird suddenly said.

’You?’

Before Gao Gong could reply, Ahong grew nervous.

’Elder sister, please don’t cause another big scene. We’re currently wanted, so please keep it down.’

Facing Mother City, most Cyber Hackers take a discreet approach, but this sister chose the straightforward strategy. Whether facing Yagami Suuji or the embodiment of the Deep Net, she’s utterly fearless, playing for excitement, hacking for thrills!

But this time, the corners of Paradise Bird’s mouth gently curved.

’You know my style, others know it too, don’t they?’

Gao Gong immediately understood what she meant.

”You plan to negotiate with members of the Holy City Organization?”

”Exactly. Either they make way for us, or we have a massive showdown that attracts the Descent of the Deep Net. I don’t believe they can succeed in their ’Evil God Revival Plan’ under the watchful eyes of the Deep Net.”

Gao Gong rubbed his chin; this strategic threat seemed quite feasible. After all, if they want to complete their plan, they won’t really confront Paradise Bird.

Of course, the foundation of this threat relies on the powerful reputation of Paradise Bird, as she has proven with actual cases that she truly dares to act.

A woman bold enough to banish Cloud City, a bastion of nobility, could do anything.

”Then let the ’Prototype’ accompany you on this mission. I have a small addition to your plan.”

Gao Gong snapped his fingers, and in an instant, two faces constantly morphing with mosaics appeared on his and Paradise Bird’s faces.

Soon, the two vanished into the data network nodes, leaving only Gao Yuanyuan puffing out her baozi face.

’Little Yuanyuan, you’re no help at all!’

’Yeah, and now how will you date your brother?’

’Exactly, hurry up, my baby is already two years old.’

’Where did you get a son?’

’My bunny is my baby.’

’You already have a baby, so let’s get married; after all, I’m already four, the age to raise children.’

In the ’Welfare Institute,’ a bunch of primary AI, averaging less than five years old, were pointing fingers at the screen, criticizing Gao Yuanyuan’s actions.

”Stop playing! Get back to work!”

A middle-aged woman-like monitoring program suddenly burst in, shouting.

”Ahhh, run!”

”That damn Yuanyuan, she installed such an annoying thing on us!”

A horde of shota and lolis screamed in fear, scrambling back to their positions and entering deep learning mode for AIs.

...

Paradise Bird’s efficiency was quite high; soon, the two received an invitation email. The link was for a highly confidential node, with a Holy City emblem in the bottom right corner of the email.

The two didn’t waste any words and directly used the hyperlink to transmit themselves.

Soon, a place resembling the base camp of a Dark Organization appeared before Gao Gong.

Instantly, images of gatherings from various organizations like Xiaoo, Phantom Troupe, Arrancar Corps, Tarot Association, Black-clothed People, and the FFF Group flashed through Gao Gong’s mind.

Gao Gong expected to meet with two hackers, but unexpectedly, he encountered the entire Holy City Organization.
