Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 424: Chapter 172: Master Brain G

If Gao Gong remembers correctly, his last nightmare-level mission was to stop the Beast Tide.

He almost got himself killed.

This time it’s a nightmare as well, but a different type of nightmare.

[Mission: Tide of Laughter]

...

Nightless City was devoured by the Peak Stage Beast Tide.

Now that the Beast Tide is no more, the Celestial Calamity of the tide has appeared.

Gao Gong replaced the role of the Knight Order, in a way, it fits quite well.

Moreover, this time’s ’nightmare-level’ mission obviously offers higher rewards than last time.

For Gao Gong, just one ’Professional Knowledge Chain’ surpasses all the rewards from the previous mission.

This actually makes sense—because this is the Cyber Test Field.

In the Cyber Test Field, dealing with a corporation is far more challenging than dealing with a Radiation Beast army.

In cyber-themed games, movies, novels, such an ending often appears, where after a lot of effort, the corporate core you blew up turns out to be just a branch, or the company president you barely managed to kill after losing your father, mother, wife turns out to be just an avatar. The real mastermind is someone else.

In this regard, players in the latter stages of the Planet Plot have a deep understanding.

Essentially, taking down a corporation is akin to stifling a technical route, which cannot simply be accomplished with force.

Even if Gao Gong is now level 90, capable of purely using force to suppress the Mechanical Legion of the main brain and the army of Peacekeepers, breaking Mechanic with a punch, shattering the Illusion Mansion with a kick, but the opponent just needs a corporate data upload to solve the problem.

You certainly cannot tear apart the Cyber Network.

At least at level 90, it cannot be done.

Therefore, combating a corporation can only be done by countering products with products, countering big data with big data, combating corporate will with corporate will.

Gao Gong treats players as products, using the Civilization Traits of the Superbrain Civilization to simulate big data, while he himself plays the corporate will.

The last point is indeed the hardest.

Fortunately, this ’corporate war’ is somewhat special this time.

With a mass of white light appearing, the sky also begins to turn ’clouded with mist’.

This phenomenon is actually caused by the Mechanical Main Brain activating the mechanical system of the entire Mechanical City, the ’Energy Residue’ being ejected, producing such anomalies.

This indicates that the Mechanic also noticed something was amiss, starting to compete for computational power with the other side.

’Bang’ ’Bang’ ’Bang’ ’Bang’

People walking on the road suddenly had their heads explode without warning, brains splattering everywhere.

In terms of head explosions, players and NPCs are treated equally.

Missile Launching Wells opened up one by one, spewing out a vast number of Mechanical Eyeliner, and tens of thousands of Mechanical Flies obscured the sky, sealing off the Illusion Mansion with an impenetrable blockade.

A cacophony of shrieking from countless metal friction erupted in an instant.

The skyscraper with over a hundred floors had its bulletproof glass nearly simultaneously shattered.

”Hugh Laurie!!!!”

This overbearing president with gold-rimmed glasses seemed to have expected this scene, letting the giant hand formed by Mechanical Eyeliner snap the support columns, crush the floors, and grab hold of him.

As far as the eye could see, it was as if a hand of the Mechanical God was reaching out from the clouds, grabbing the building and tearing out a huge gap.

Hugh Laurie was dragged into the clouds, the violent Radiation Energy instantly rotting his flesh, all his hair fell out, his skin wrinkled, and many pustules appeared.

Until he was dragged before a red eyeball.

The violent mechanical roar sounded.

”You betrayed me!?”

Hugh Laurie smiled faintly, though his lips soon turned into a liquid mass.

”Everything, everything is proceeding according to your plan, moral chip, Human Completion Plan, the next phase of Main Brain Ascension, our corporation has no intention of defying you.”

”Then why are you competing with me for computational power, and at this time!”

The bones of the overbearing president were also crushed, apart from broken bone fractures and shattered electronic parts, especially in the cranial region, there was a string of chip sockets.

Hugh Laurie’s voice vanished, replaced by a fanatical electronic tone.

”We are only assisting your plan, after all, in the plan’s final step, all living beings on the ground ultimately belong to you—this naturally includes us.”

”Angels are naturally to serve before the Lord.”

Hugh Laurie’s body was crushed, yet beams of white light shot out from between the fingers. Each beam was an anomaly where numerous algorithms converged to an extreme point. These white lights frantically pierced into the body of the Mechanical Main Brain, beginning the process of assimilation.

Human Completion!

Main Brain Completion!

The Mechanic never expected that the other party wouldn’t care about their own death at all, even using themselves as bait to lure her in.

Their purpose was precisely to let the Corporate Will devour themselves.

”After I die, the angels shall descend upon the world.”

The next moment, the eyes of tens of thousands of employees in the Illusion Mansion simultaneously glowed with white light.

The sensory data of Nightless City started to materialize, a multitude of white silk threads began appearing in the air, from brain to brain, from data node to data node.

”Ambushing during the tender moment between two female Main Brains, isn’t this also a kind of ntr,” Gao Gong mused to himself.

However, for Gao, who was familiar with the plot, this was very likely to happen.

But for the players, it was completely different!

At this moment, the players probably had only three thoughts in their minds.

’Damn, sudden plot animation!’

’Damn, plot animation random killing!’

’Damn, why does it feel like kidney deficiency, won’t there be a disconnect.’

Many players suddenly disconnected as they walked.

The extraction of computational power doesn’t distinguish whether you are a player or an NPC.

The computational power of tens of millions of people gathering at this time was equivalent to the computational power of a Mother City level.

Gao Gong, however, looked towards the direction of the Sunless City, where beams of black rainbow pierced through the cyber space and into the Mechanical City.

The Mechanic could not surrender; he had to speed up the devouring of the old Mechanic, and after devouring, suppress the Corporate Will.

”Everything, just as you predicted!”

Data was transmitted at light-speed, and the ’Speakerless’ almost instantly appeared behind Gao Gong.

At this time, the former Mechanical Main Brain looked at the sky filled with shock, then looked even more shockedly at the back of Gao Gong.

New Mechanic suppressing the old Mechanic

Corporate Will forcibly devouring the Mechanic

Even the counterattack of the new Mechanic was dragging it over.

Everything was within the other’s calculations.

”Give me a hand, let me borrow a shell.”

The Speakerless gave a wry smile. Did he have a choice now?

If Corporate Will won, he would be dead for sure.

And if the new Mechanic won, he would also be suppressed, with the source code becoming the other’s stepping stone.

”I hope you can accomplish what you want to do!”

In the gallery of the Sunless City, all the paintings began to melt.

Although the ’Speakerless’ as the Mechanical Main Brain had long been nominal, the ’name’ in certain moments could play a critical role.

For example, now!

Reality disappeared, and Gao Gong seemed to fall into a code abyss.

All around was endless data, programs, system code, even if Gao Gong lit up all his ’Hacker Traits’, he still felt suffocated.

Is this the legendary Programmer’s Hell.

Body unbound, time unbound, programming unbound, suffering unbound.

’Yuanyuan!’

’Brother, I understand!’

In the next moment, half of the power of the virtual life Gao Yuanyuan merged with Gao Gong, and countless hyperlinks emerged from Gao Gong, forming doors upon doors of ’web addresses’.

Sites and URLs flashed past Gao Gong’s ears, each door he crossed seemed to draw him closer to the ’abyss’.

Finally, with the help of his sister’s powers, Gao Gong reached the bottom of the abyss.

It was a gigantic mechanical hub deeply embedded in the ’Guanzhong Plate 9-3’, countless pipelines extended from it, sending to the surface.

The sheer area was terrifying, equivalent to nearly half of Nightless City, with a Mechanical Energy equally terrifying, nearly breaking a billion.

Of course, this includes all the corporations, factories, production bases within the Mechanical City.

’I can’t help you much, are you sure you can handle it?’

’Enough of the nonsense.’

Gao Gong took a deep breath, and in the next moment, countless Gates of Data rose from the ground, resource locators dancing wildly.

”Alright then, I’ll open my Main Brain Hub, this I can do.”

The next moment, the mechanical hub disappeared beneath Gao Gong’s feet.

Replaced by a massive, seemingly borderless iron door, its surface with servers, processors, various computing units.

It was as if a sound of thousands of coolers roaring echoed beside Gao Gong’s ears.

”Do not lose yourself within the data source,” Speakerless gave the final warning.

Gao Gong’s figure slowly sank, and at the last moment, he calmly said:

”I won’t be lost, because I myself, am the source!”

Gao Gong vanished.

And in Nightless City, strange code instructions were issued from the Mechanical Main Brain, moving from a civilian server to a public data center, then to corporate databases.

The next time Gao Gong appeared, he was no longer Mr. G—but Mechanical Main Brain·G.
