Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 413: Chapter 164: Cyber Experiment (01)

Nuclear weapons in a Level 2 Civilization are tactical weapons, and between Mechanical Cities, there is a nuclear non-proliferation treaty.

But the real reason for nuclear non-proliferation is because ’nuclear proliferation’ has happened too often. If it increases a bit more, it might just create another large Uninhabited Land.

So, there’s an understanding among Mechanical Cities on the same continental plate to minimize the use of such large-scale destructive weapons.

However, the Guanzhong Plate is a small continental block with only one Mechanical Main Brain.

Therefore, the sky this morning is unusually bright.

The first five nuclear bombs were aimed at the strongholds of the Five Great Families.

The subsequent fifty nuclear bombs were for area strikes.

In the headquarters building of the Illusionary Union, Hugh Laurie and Dr. Murray, one is the head of a rising giant, the other the head of the R&D department, both of whom hold significant positions in the business and political world.

At this moment, the two were looking out the window through bulletproof glass, after all, the scene of a mushroom cloud rising is rare.

”You shouldn’t have agreed with Lord Mechanic about this. Our troubles won’t be small now, and the security department will be busy again,” Dr. Murray couldn’t help but say.

To put it bluntly, the Mechanical Main Brains scattered around the world are all execution programs of the Mother City. No matter how advanced their AI is, they can only execute all operations after the necessary procedures.

And with the authority of the current Illusionary Union, as long as this president makes up his mind, he can block the nuclear bomb plan.

Hugh Laurie calmly blew on his tea and took a sip.

”I wasn’t the one who issued the nuclear bomb order, even if those mercenaries go mad, they’ll only assassinate those legislators in anger. They wouldn’t dare look for the Mechanical Main Brain.”

”But this way, Lord Mechanic’s last stumbling block will be kicked away, and it will speed up its plan, which is very unfavorable for us.”

Dr. Murray closed his Brain Skull Chip, looked around, and suddenly said in a low voice, ”After all, our goal is to use the ’Completion Angel’ to swallow up the Mechanic, let them fight each other to exhaustion, so we can profit from it. It would be best if they both are mutually devastated.”

Hugh Laurie smiled slightly, a flash of white light passed through his eyes.

”It’s no longer necessary. As long as we follow the plan, everything will be ours.”

Dr. Murray’s expression gradually changed as well, a flash of white light passed through his eyes, he slightly bowed, and left without saying a word.

”Hahaha, it seems you deserve to be the master of 40 million artificial data. The feeling you give me now doesn’t feel much weaker than those Super AIs.”

”Thanks to the advanced civilization devices provided by you, otherwise, the Human Completion Plan wouldn’t be advancing so smoothly either.”

Hugh Laurie spoke without turning back, and behind him, the eyes of the 5th Generation Miller slowly narrowed.

The other party wasn’t like this before.

This feeling was not good for the Planet Nobility from above the clouds.

”By the way, Lord Miller, did you know the several virtual acceleration engines you ordered from aliens have malfunctioned?”

”Malfunctioned?”

”Simply put, these engines have a hard time handling the massive computational power of the human brain. Our department’s engineers had to put in a lot of effort to adjust them.”

The 5th Generation Miller frowned: ”That’s impossible, the ones I got from the Star System Black Market are flagship products of the Giant Corporation Civilization. I trust my people wouldn’t lie to me.”

”That’s true, but is there another possibility that these so-called ’advanced civilization products’ aren’t that advanced after all?”

”Maybe they are excellent from a hardware perspective since they’re Level 3 Civilization products, but they aren’t that suitable for handling more complex human brain algorithms.”

”Adjusting them actually wasted a lot of our time.”

”Are you implying that I should apologize to you?” The expression of the 5th Generation Miller slowly darkened.

”If you don’t mind, I don’t mind either.”

The eyes of the 5th Generation Miller narrowed, and the next moment, numerous cracks appeared on the walls, ceiling, and glass.

A unique dangerous aura of an Advanced Cloud Nobility began to spread around.

Template: Ancient Nobility

Sign of Ancient Times: As a high-ranking official ruling the planet in the previous era, you possess a vast amount of secret, dark channels that can reach any corner of the world.

Dark Emperor: As Planet Nobility, you own a great amount of Old-Style Authority that can extend into any emerging power.

Fate Manipulator: As long as you wish, you can decide the fate of any ordinary person on this planet, momentum +500%, gene suppression +300%.

”If I wish, I can make all the advanced genetic engineers and top neuroscientists in your possession resign within minutes.”

”Of course, I don’t doubt your connections. The Foundation on this planet, Corporate Associations, Species Research Associations, and even underground organizations, which one is not related to you?”

Hugh Laurie turned his head, the white light in his eyes became even brighter.

”But which can you manipulate?”

A flash of killing intent passed through the eyes of the 5th Generation Miller, the next moment, he appeared beside Hugh Laurie, and his steel-like fingers fiercely clamped on the other’s neck, feeling a sharp pain simultaneously.

Hugh Laurie disappeared, replaced by an enormous White Light Angel, and the real world vanished, replaced by an endless Sea of Signals.

Different from the Sea of Data in Cyber Space, the water here consists entirely of Neural Signals. Every signal that falls on the human body is a direct sensation, pain, sadness, joy, grief, darkness, jealousy, greed.

To the super body of the 5th Generation Miller, a single sensation was only like a mosquito bite, but when millions and tens of millions of Neural Signals flooded his Neural System.

”Ahhhhh——”

The eyes of the 5th Generation Miller instantly turned crimson. This intense sensation, exceeding sensory limits, even traversed space-time, reaching a massive starship.

The glass in the hand of another Miller shattered violently, and he let out a miserable cry, clutching his head.

”Doctor, call the doctor quickly!” the servant shouted hurriedly.

A medical soft-bodied organism was released, immediately enveloping Miller, but the next moment, this alien life form, equivalent to an advanced medical chamber, exploded completely, beyond saving.

Fortunately, the starship’s medical team arrived swiftly, and the Tier 2 Profession of the Prosthetic Doctor, Alien Species Doctor, rapidly began treatment.

”It can be confirmed that it’s the strange biological signal transmitted from the avatar at coordinates 13441.53232.52242 that’s causing the influence.”

The star map was opened, and where those coordinates pointed was exactly the Mechanical Split Star.

The surrounding alien nobility were all in an uproar.

Because the marker of these coordinates was a large crimson ’X’.

This indicated that either a civilization-level disaster had occurred on this planet or it belonged to an advanced civilization’s testing ground.

Evidently, it’s the latter.

These alien nobility, commercial tycoons, and interstellar celebrities all displayed looks of terror.

The Cyber Test Field, a haunt for perverts and lunatics.

To be recognized as a gathering place for perverts in the ever-changing ethical cosmic society, the notoriety of the Cyber Test Field is self-evident.

”Now there’s only one surgical solution, sever the connection device of this avatar, otherwise, this main body’s neural system might be overwhelmed,” the Alien Species Doctor stated calmly.

”Cut, cut it off!” The main body gritted its teeth and said fiercely.

Crossing over a thousand light-years, returned once again to Nightless City.

This full-level 60 humanoid monster, with two templates added, was now utterly defenseless, submerged in the Sea of Data.

”Planet asset seller, star system black market trader, hybrid bloodline implanter.”

Hugh Laurie murmured to himself, ”Is any of these three identities truly worth being proud of?”

”Before the true era of technology, you are powerless.”

...

After the nuclear bomb scourge, Nightless City quickly passed a mechanical law deal—an immigration proposal.

It would move a million ’artificial data’ from the City of Crime to Nightless City.

If it were a management game, such a relocation of criminals would yield a -10% public opinion, -20% social stability, and +30% crime rate, but for a Nightless City already formed as a ’moral society’, this proposal didn’t cause any waves.

The reason is simple: in the moral chip, there’s a rule that any established social policy must be moral.

Moreover, before entering the city, these criminals would also receive a free chip implant.

Though citizens are willing, the criminals, on the other hand, were not.

In the City of Crime, now Nightless City has apparently become a crime black hole, unlucky for whoever goes there.

Being a legitimate criminal, I don’t want to reform.

And the Evil Association of the City of Crime isn’t so obedient; all sorts of sneaky operations emerged, some even planning to create a batch of clones, intending to cheat the system.

However, news from the Sub-human Continent soon spread, the scene of a nuclear bomb scourge was shocking.

Lord Mechanic isn’t here to negotiate with you; if the numbers can’t be met, or if there’s an intention to cheat, a nuclear scourge would be directly applied.

Negotiation can wait until you can withstand a nuclear strike.

However, unlike NPCs, the players, upon hearing this news, suddenly got excited.

The reason is simple—Forum Administrator G, who was always pretending to be dead, abruptly released a major dungeon update, hanging it on the homepage of the Mechanical Split Star page.

’Cyber Experiment—Human Completion Plan (01)’

’Does humanity need morality? Does humanity not need morality? What kind of morality does humanity need? How to calibrate it, to make it align with the development of this planet’s technology tree?’

’Now, the emerging giant Illusionary Union has provided such a solution, to complete humanity, liberating them from the cage of flesh, entering a spiritual paradise.’

’Of course, there is also a saying that this plan is to completely imprison humanity, then transform them into a ’worker bee’ existence, building high walls around the concept of ’humanity’, an authoritarian experiment, a method of the alien Gene Master.’

’So, as a member of the Cyber Test Field, what is your choice?’

’This task is a ’Nightmare-level Task’, with pre-conditions to enter this version: ’Laughing Bat’ chip, City of Crime citizenship.’

’This task is a ’reward pool’ task; each 1% increase in task completion rate will increase the task reward.’

’This task has numerous side quests, please utilize your wisdom to actively explore.’

’Friendly task reminder: neon lights and billboards are not the hallmark of Cyberpunk, social reconstruction is.’
