Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Uncle Wan even pushed the already scrapped solar water heater from the roof over.

The pipes of this solar water heater were all exploded and shattered.

By the time they had moved all the heavier items over, Dongfeng finally recovered.

Breathing heavily, each breath stinging his throat and lungs with pain.

He desperately tried to control his breathing because gasping so hard was too painful.

The intense exercise just now raised the temperature in his lungs and throat, and now the temperature was extremely low.

It was somewhat like a piece of red-hot iron directly immersed in icy water.

The clash of cold and heat made his lungs extremely uncomfortable.

...

After catching his breath for a full two minutes, he struggled to his feet, scanning the rooftop.

This was a building of five and a half stories.

They were currently on the fifth floor.

Above was a half-floor with only two connected rooms, about fifty square meters, and beside this half-floor, where they were standing, was a large balcony over one hundred square meters.

Dongfeng stood up and slowly walked to the edge of the fifth floor, looking down.

The height of the zombies stacking up was still increasing, but much slower than at the beginning.

Some zombies, crowded up to the third or fourth floor, would be pushed by the incoming zombies and fall, rolling from the third or fourth floor onto a zombie mound at the second-floor height.

And then, like a ball rolling down a slope.

Zombies did the same, falling from the highest point and then rolling downward.

On the way down, they would hit some zombies trying to stack up, knocking those climbing the zombie mound to the bottom.

Whoosh whoosh——

This house was relatively well-preserved here, but only relatively.

The windows on the third and fourth floor and the balcony glass were mostly broken by people.

It was drafty everywhere, but the only somewhat reliable place was the big room on the first floor where they initially hid.

At this moment, zombies charging in from the first floor walked upward from inside, and due to congestion, fell from the shattered balcony.

They crashed into the zombies stacking from the ground up, and the two collided.

Forming an extremely strange balance.

Dongfeng closely observed these zombies. Although the height of the zombie mound was still increasing, it was not fast, and they wouldn’t be able to climb up anytime soon.

It was known that to support a high enough zombie mound, more zombies had to be stacked below, which made it slower.

Five stories, about 15 meters high, plus the railing, 16 meters.

It should be able to hold for a while, Dongfeng thought.

Then he looked at the balcony and didn’t see any firewood.

So he asked, ”Where’s the firewood?”

He was starting to shiver; he hadn’t felt it during the intense exercise, but now that he had stopped, the sweat in his thermal clothing turned cold.

The damp, sticky feeling of cold and heat was truly uncomfortable.

Uncle Wan pointed to the half-floor room and said, ”It’s all inside. Time was tight, we didn’t bring it all up, only two bags of food.”

Dongfeng sighed and said, ”That’s enough. Uncle Wan, getting this much up with food in such a short time is already great.”

Uncle Wan’s eyebrows had completely turned into two icicles.

He shook his head and said nothing.

”Hurry and start a fire! We might not be bitten to death by zombies, but we could freeze to death first!” Dongfeng said.

Then he assigned four people to stand at the four corners to monitor the zombies crawling around.

As the fire burned indoors,

Dongfeng felt both fortunate and desolate.

Though they had not yet escaped danger, in such a situation, it was indeed strange and bizarre to have survived.

Furniture, the ruined balcony, the stairs.....

Various factors combined to allow them to live this far.

When pressed, any method can be thought of.

Dongfeng couldn’t help but lament.

Drip——

A drop of blood fell from his face; it came from a frostbitten crack on his face. Just when it was cold, the blood didn’t drip down, but now beside the fire, the temperature was high, and the blood melted and dripped down.

He stared blankly; he didn’t know how much longer they could hold on.

Not knowing when the zombies would pile up high enough, or what to do then?

With only two bags of food, how long could they last?

Everything was unknown.

But what he knew was, he was still alive now.

......

.....

Big Camphor Tree Base.

The group of white-skinned zombies were still stacking.

The people on the wall, after a whole day of rotational shooting, still felt too cold.

So they reduced the frequency of long stints shooting zombies outside.

But the zombies were still stacking, getting higher and higher.

Li Yu thought for a moment, feeling that the base’s electricity was bound to be wasted if not used.

So he activated all the mobile switch blades on the Big Camphor Tree Base’s wall.

Since the last practical test, it was found that the mobile switch blades had miraculous effects and were highly efficient at killing zombies.

No manpower required, only electricity consumption.

So they were reinforced and improved again.

The mobile switch blades were divided into three levels:

First level: located at seven meters high with the thickest and most numerous blades.

Second level: located at thirteen meters high with the fastest blades capable of quickly chopping off zombie heads.

Third level: located at twenty meters high with sharp and relatively thin blades for the final protection.
