Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

This heavy snowstorm lasted for ten days.

Moreover, the heavy snow hasn’t stopped and continues to descend from the sky.

During these ten days, An Ya and the others have moved all the crop seedlings into the greenhouse.

The temperature continues to drop, until today.

November 5th.

The outdoor temperature is minus 38 degrees.

The snowfall outside has accumulated to a terrifying height, with over a meter of snow, so deep that if someone jumps into the deepest part, they would disappear.

With such heavy snow, traveling becomes inconvenient.

So, the snow plow used last year has started operating.

Almost every day, they have to clear snow on the main roads inside the base, or else they can hardly move around.

The cooperative personnel and extra staff in the greenhouse take turns these days to go out and clear the snow around the greenhouse.

Otherwise, the heavy snow would surround the greenhouse, making it impossible for people to go out.

Li Yu stood on the wall watching the snow falling outside, and pondered, ”It’s November. In the blink of an eye, it has been two years since the Doomsday began.”

What a sigh.

Behind him, Li Tie approached and said to Li Yu, ”Big brother, didn’t you say that after we’re done with the greenhouse, we would have a feast?”

Seeing his excitement, Li Yu smiled and said, ”Sure, Aunt Zhou and the others have probably been prepared for a long time.”

”Hehe.” Li Tie scratched his head, feeling a little embarrassed.

Recently, everyone has been quite busy. After Li Yu organized a small hot pot feast a few days ago, he also went to the greenhouse to help move the seedlings inside.

Every time he saw the lush green seedlings being cautiously transplanted into the soil, a boundless hope for the future would surge in his heart.

These are the fundamentals to ensure that they can survive.

.....

Snow-covered cold mountains.

The pristine white forests, no longer recognizable, possess a kind of stark beauty.

Vast and majestic.

Under the walls, buried in the snow, there are still some zombies. Over time, the snow freezes them, making it hard for them to move.

If there’s one advantage to the heavy snow, it’s that the zombie threat is less significant for Big Camphor Tree Base.

The twenty-meter-high walls, despite the snow being over a meter high, keep Big Camphor Tree Base safe.

This snowstorm seems never-ending.

It’s as if this snow, coming late, is the delayed response to the global cooling after the volcanic eruptions.

Li Yu stayed in the snow for a while, then went to clean the outdoor cameras.

When the snow accumulates too much, it’s easy for it to crush the cameras.

He opened the door to the duty room, and a wave of warmth greeted him.

Li Yu looked at Deng Ben, He Chao, Li Tie, and Old Lv inside the duty room.

He recalled when the base was first built, the total number of people in the base was only a few dozen.

Now, almost 400 people reside in the inner and outer city of the base. Including extra and cooperative personnel, there are nearly 2,000 people.

This scale of population, in his impression, should be considered quite large.

Initially, there was a plan to expand Big Camphor Tree Base this year, but it was temporarily shelved due to the snowstorm.

And to ensure a continuous supply of food, Li Yu has recently focused on building the greenhouse.

After this snowstorm ends, they plan to resume the expansion plan and build a new large outer city.

Old Lv saw Li Yu come in and asked, ”Director Li, did Li Tie just say that we’re having another feast event at the base? In such cold weather, wouldn’t it be inconvenient?”

Enjoying good food and having fun events, who wouldn’t be willing?

However, the always composed Old Lv, who assists Uncle with the safety matters at the base, finds arranging events in such cold weather a bit troublesome.

Li Yu nodded and said, ”That’s right, but don’t worry too much. The main purpose of our event is to reward everyone’s hard work recently. In this weather, it can’t be held outside, so we’ll prepare everything and distribute it to everyone to eat indoors.”

Hearing this, Old Lv was relieved.

Every time there’s an event, he feels a lot of pressure.

So, during every event, he comes to the duty room on the wall for his shift.

Always watching out for zombies or the presence of enemies outside.

Now, hearing Li Yu say it’s just about making some good food for everyone, it makes no difference.

Soon, this news spread throughout the base.

Everyone knows Big Camphor Tree Base holds events from time to time to reward everyone.

The events never disappoint them.

Living in the Doomsday, there are just a few entertainment activities.

Compared to those entertainment activities, they understand the preciousness of food even more, so their desire for food is very strong.

........

Aunt Zhou and others started preparing for this event early, like stewing pork, which has been made and stored in the freezer, ready to be taken out and steamed when it’s time to eat.

Li Yu found Aunt Zhou and told her the event would start tomorrow.

The timing is set for noon tomorrow.

After learning this, Aunt Zhou took out tomorrow’s menu to show Li Yu.

Li Yu took a quick glance: Stewed pork, fried grasshoppers, spicy and sour potato shreds.......

Three main courses, three cold dishes.

”Why haven’t we finished eating the grasshoppers yet?” Li Yu asked somewhat helplessly.
