Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

The lights on both sides of the entrance automatically turned on.

Li Yu tucked a bottle of alcohol under his arm, holding a crossbow in his right hand and a flashlight in his left, and proceeded downward.

After descending, Li Yu pressed a button on the bottom step.

Clack, clack, clack—

The wall above closed.

Li Yu turned on the lights in this space, illuminating the entire area instantly.

In front of him was a small table with a vase on it.

There were several concealed doors around, tightly shut.

Li Yu turned off the flashlight, walked to the rightmost steel door, tucked the flashlight into his clothes, and forcefully twisted the handle.

Clack, clack, clack—

This long-sealed door opened.

A gust of cold air rushed in from outside.

Behind this door was a cave about one person high, with a dark and chilly entrance.

Li Yu, clutching the crossbow and the bottle of alcohol, stepped into the cave.

After walking for about two or three minutes, he finally reached a metal gate.

The wind and snow outside were swirling.

Bam—

Li Yu took out a key to unlock the metal gate, glancing at the makeshift ladder hanging on the wall, and breathed a small sigh of relief.

Once the metal gate was open, he stepped outside.

Two meters away was a cliff.

This cave, about seventy to eighty meters above ground, was at a ninety-degree vertical angle.

This place was a cliff on the west side of the Big Camphor Tree Base, and this cave was something Li Yu had started digging when building the villa.

This cave entrance, and the space he had just entered, were known only to him; he hadn’t told anyone.

From this cave entrance, one could descend using the makeshift ladder.

Because this area was naturally elevated, there was no way to see the cave from below, let alone climb up.

At seventy to eighty meters high, no matter how many zombies there were, they couldn’t reach here.

This was Li Yu’s secret, a last-resort escape route.

Highly unlikely to be used, perhaps due to betrayals and deception in his past life, which kept him perpetually vigilant.

So, regardless of the circumstances, he always left himself an escape path.

The wind and snow howled outside.

Due to the ventilation from the cave entrance, the wind and snow only blew outside the cave.

Sizzle—

Li Yu lit a cigarette and leaned directly against the metal gate behind him.

He was wearing many layers, with a ski jacket and a warm hat, well enough to protect him.

Whoosh—

The smoke drifted slowly.

The extremely cold air entering his throat scratched it somewhat.

His whole spirit was suddenly invigorated.

He tucked the radio into his right pocket, retrieving the high-proof liquor from under his arm.

Sitting at the cave entrance, only two meters from the cliff.

Beside him was a thick rock wall, and ahead was a vast expanse of snowy scenery. He sat quietly, bundled in his thick ski jacket, holding a clear bottle of liquor.

Before him was a grand snowstorm.

The wind howled, the snowflakes flew madly, and it seemed like the whole world was draped in a silver-white curtain.

Occasionally, he raised his head to gaze into the distance, his eyes filled with endless loneliness and contemplation. Perhaps because he was the only one here, or perhaps because his heart was always searching for some sense of meaning.

Yet, at this moment, he just wanted to enjoy the peace.

He raised the bottle, taking a deep swig, then inhaled a breath of the cold air deeply.

He felt the coldness of his breath, relishing the beauty of the silence.

Gradually, his thoughts began to drift.

He recalled all sorts of past events, the people and incidents he encountered before his rebirth.

He remembered the ideals and dreams he once pursued before the Doomsday.

Calmly, he sat there, eyes vacant, as if conversing with time and space.

In such an atmosphere, he seemed to become a part of the snowy landscape, responding to and perceiving the outside world.

He felt his presence magnified, yet also faded.

Just like that, he sat quietly, enjoying the serene beauty.

The wind and snow still raged outside, but at this moment, he felt his heart was strong enough to endure all these trials.

Suddenly, a gust of wind brought him out of his reverie.

He lifted his head, looking down at the cliff, spotting several vague figures floating in the snow.

Zombies.

From this high vantage point, he could see farther.

Calmly, he adjusted his breath, aimed at one zombie shadow, and gently squeezed the trigger. Instantly, an arrow pierced a zombie’s head accurately.

After slaying one zombie, he took another swig from the bottle, then aimed and shot at another shadow.

Perhaps due to the wind and snow, the arrow flew past the zombie.

Li Yu took a deep breath, focusing through the crossbow’s scope, and gently released.

Whoosh—

The zombie fell.

The other zombies beside it could only howl helplessly, unable to threaten Li Yu’s safety.

Another one down.

Zombies against alcohol, with the wind and snow as a backdrop.

The cold air and fiery high-proof liquor streamed freely down Li Yu’s throat.

One cigarette after another, they never ceased.

At that moment, he relished the thrill of the kill.

Phew.

He felt a slight buzz from the alcohol, slightly tipsy.
