Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 96: Chapter 96 Super Ancient Gengar

Chapter 96 Super Ancient Gengar

After staying home for two days, Ash took Brock and Misty to the back mountain of Pallet Town. This time, he was determined to capture the three Ancient Pokémon.

Not long after they entered the mountain, Bill appeared with several people dressed as archaeologists to greet Ash.

Ash waved to Bill, ”Bill!”

”Ash, you’re finally here!” Bill excitedly patted Ash’s shoulder.

Just a few days prior, he and his team had discovered a relatively shallow Ancient ruin in a valley. Having witnessed the terrifying power of Ancient Dragonite, he immediately halted the excavation after finding the ruin and sealed it off, awaiting Ash’s arrival.

For the past few days, the archaeological team had been pressing him about when they could resume excavation, but Bill had managed to put them off. However, they weren’t so easily fooled. Sensing that Bill was stalling, they were becoming impatient. After all, this was another major discovery in Pokémon history, and they didn’t want to miss out on such a great find.

”Ash, let me introduce you. This is Dr. White. She’s a young genius just like you; she deciphered Pokémon text at the age of six and is now a renowned archaeological doctor in the academic world.” Bill introduced the blue-haired young woman behind him to Ash.

”Hello, Dr. White!” Ash politely extended his hand.

”You’re the young Pokémon Doctor Dr. Bill mentioned! It’s a pleasure to meet you!”

White also extended her hand and shook Ash’s hand in a friendly manner.

”Our camp is over there. Dr. Ash, please follow me.”

Led by White and Bill, the group arrived at a camp located in a small canyon. Not far from the camp, there was an ancient bronze bell, and beneath the bell was a stone altar.

Seeing the familiar scene, Ash asked, ”White, Bill, you haven’t taken anything out of that ruin, have you?”

”Because we were waiting for your arrival, Dr. Ash, we haven’t touched anything in that ruin yet. However, we’ve found many other artifacts from the same era as that ruin in other parts of this mountain. Please come in, Ash!”

White pulled back the tent flap.

Inside the tent, there were only a few Pokémon statues with various patterns, and the most conspicuous one was a golden spoon covered by a glass dome.

”Oh, by the way, Ash, White and her team dug up a stone slab in the mountain that records information about the Ancient era!” Bill said.

White picked up a dark brown stone slab from the corner of the tent. ”It’s this one.”

”Are these Pokémon characters?” Misty asked, looking at the dense text on the stone slab.

”Miss White, what does it say?” Brock asked.

”The information recorded on it is: Two forces that destroy the world, black darkness, staining the sky black, golden eyes, disrupting the veins of energy, a dispute that divides the world in two, leaving people helpless. The sky opens a gate to another world, and at this moment, the power that calms everything down transforms into a sphere and returns beneath the horizon.”

White translated the text on the stone slab.

”This passage is a bit confusing,” Brock said.

”It’s precisely because I don’t understand it that I want to solve this mystery. I heard Dr. Bill say that you, Ash, seem to know a lot about the ruins here...”

White’s gaze fell on Ash. Before excavating the ruins, Bill had told her that the ruins here were dangerous, and the beginning of the text on the stone slab also confirmed this. That’s why she was willing to wait for Ash for a few days. However, with Ash’s delayed arrival, she had originally planned to start work today and clear the remaining ruins. If there was any danger, she could also contact the League for help.

”I do know a little. The two forces recorded on this stone slab are actually two Pokémon, and the power that calms the disaster also refers to a certain Pokémon.”

Saying this, Ash walked to the golden spoon.

Seeing Ash’s action, White immediately asked, ”Ash, do you mean this spoon is related to one of the Pokémon recorded on the stone slab?”

”It is related, but this is just one item; there’s another more crucial item.”

With that, Ash took out the spoon.

”Ash, do you know where the other item is?” Bill asked.

”It’s in the ruins next to the camp. That ruin also contains two other Pokémon. It’s going to be a bit dangerous next, Bill, White, you should retreat to a safe place first. Once I’ve dealt with those three Pokémon, you can come and excavate the ruins.”

Ash picked up the spoon and walked towards the ruins.

Seeing this, Bill knew that a fierce battle was about to take place in this area, so he began to tell the archaeological team to temporarily evacuate.

Ash, meanwhile, was holding the spoon and found the Golden Eye that truly sealed Ancient Alakazam.

”Just one more.”

Ash murmured softly.

Then he fully unleashed his Aura, detecting the special fluctuations underground.

A minute later, Ash’s lips curled slightly upward; he had found Ancient Gengar.

”Pikachu, Dig on the left side of that large bell, Dig diagonally. Gardevoir, you are responsible for watching Pikachu; the guy down there is a bit unruly,” Ash said.

Compared to Ancient Alakazam, the seal on Ancient Gengar had already loosened. If any creature broke in, it could easily be absorbed and trapped inside Ancient Gengar’s body.

”Pika!”

”Gardevoir~”

With the cooperation of Pikachu and Gardevoir, Ash quickly saw the space below through the hole Pikachu had dug.

The space below was similar to the one above, both having an altar, and the token sealing Gengar was on top of the altar.

Sensing the Aura from the outside world, Ancient Gengar no longer hid. It shattered the rock wall and burst out, but because it was in an invisible state, Misty and the others standing in the distance only saw three beads strung together floating in the air, while strange large footprints appeared below.

As soon as Ancient Gengar emerged, it wanted to absorb Ash into its body, but with Ash protected by Aura, how could he be so easily caught?

After fiddling for a long time, Ancient Gengar gave up trying to capture Ash. It revealed its form and looked up at the sky, which immediately darkened.
