Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Connotation

Chapter 90 Connotation

”Ash, you...how did you catch it? Didn’t you say you didn’t?” Gary stared at Ash with resentful eyes.

”I never said I didn’t catch it. You were the one who immediately ruled out the correct answer,” Ash said, looking innocent.

Seeing Ash’s punchable expression, Gary gritted his teeth and said, ”Damn it!”

”Mewtwo, calm down. Professor Oak means no harm,” Ash said to Mewtwo.

”Hmph!”

Mewtwo glanced at Ash, then went back into its Master Ball.

”Phew, good, at least it’s somewhat obedient.”

Ash let out a long sigh, then picked up the Master Ball and clipped it back onto his belt.

He turned to Professor Oak and explained, ”Professor, Mewtwo is a Pokémon created by Team Rockets using Mew’s genes. It has been in the laboratory since its birth, and Team Rockets conducted many experiments on it, so...”

”I see, no wonder this child is so resistant to laboratory equipment,” Professor Oak suddenly realized.

He thought to himself, his ’affinity’ was so strong that none of Ash’s other legendary Pokémon had ever resisted him. How did it go wrong with Mewtwo? It turned out to be Team Rockets’ fault.

”Professor, I think Mewtwo’s existence should be kept secret for now. After all, it has Team Rockets’ label on it, and it’s also very resistant to humans. Let’s report it to the League after some time when its emotional knots are resolved,” Ash said thoughtfully.

He was already planning to use Mewtwo to fight Tobias. A Secondary God-tier Mewtwo, instantly defeating a few of Tobias’s mythical Pokémon, shouldn’t be too much, right?

”Ash, it’s your Pokémon. You decide how to handle it. Oh, by the way, you know your mom is coming back from the Kalos region tomorrow, right?” Professor Oak suddenly asked.

”I know. My mom called me two days ago and said she had a surprise.”

Ash was a bit puzzled about this so-called surprise.

He also indirectly contacted Serena, but he only knew that this so-called surprise was prepared by his adopted daughter, Gardevoir. There was no other information.

”It is indeed a good surprise. Professor Sycamore has already checked it for you. You should like it when the time comes,” Professor Oak said with a mysterious smile.

”Uh...”

Ash was speechless. So, he was the only one in the dark about this so-called surprise, while everyone else knew most of it?

”Ash, can your Dragonite...”

Since Mewtwo couldn’t be studied, Professor Oak started thinking about the Ancient Dragonite on Ash. He had been thinking about this Pokémon ever since he knew of its existence, but Ash just wouldn’t send it back to him.

”Professor, let me ask her first to see if she’s willing to cooperate with your research. Her strength... well, she’s much stronger than your Dragonite.”

Indeed, the Ancient Dragonite, which had recovered to Secondary God-tier, was much stronger than Oak’s Champion-level Dragonite. If Ancient Dragonite wasn’t willing to cooperate and caused a scene like Mewtwo, Professor Oak would be in danger!

”Alright.”

Ten minutes later, Ash and the two others left Professor Oak’s Laboratory, while Professor Oak looked regretful. Clearly, Ancient Dragonite was unwilling to cooperate with his research, not even for a simple physical examination.

Stepping out of the Laboratory’s door, Misty looked worriedly in the direction of the Laboratory: ”Ash, are we really just leaving like this? Won’t there be a problem?”

”Don’t worry, Professor Oak is just putting on a show. He actually has many research topics. There are three Ancient Pokémon sleeping in the mountains behind Pallet Town. In a few days, we’ll go to the mountains for special training.”

Ash had planned for the special training to take place in the mountains behind Pallet Town. Of course, for the next two or three days, he would stay at home with his mother, Delia. Tomorrow, he would go to the Viridian City airport to pick her up.

As for Misty and Brock, they would naturally stay at Ash’s house. With capsule technology, there was no fear of not having enough rooms.

The next day, in the morning.

Ash arrived at Professor Oak’s Laboratory early. He certainly couldn’t walk to pick up his mother, so he could only ask Professor Oak for a ride. Professor Oak had a car and time, and his mother used to be Professor Oak’s student.

If it weren’t for his irresponsible father, who had been out of contact for years, Ash estimated that his mother, even if she couldn’t become a professor, would still be a top researcher.

Ash walked around the Laboratory but didn’t see Gary, so he found Oak, who was eating breakfast, and asked, ”Professor, has Gary gone for special training?”

”That child Gary was hit hard by you. Yesterday, after you left, he went for special training and said something about aiming for second place and striving for first. Ash, please take care of that Scizor’s super evolution stone.”

Before Gary left yesterday, he not only told Professor Oak about his trade with Ash but also tested Scizor’s strength. After Mega Evolution, it barely had Quasi-Elite Middle Stage strength.

”It’s nothing. By the way, Professor, has your Mega Evolution research encountered any bottlenecks?” Ash asked.

”It’s not really a bottleneck. It’s just that super evolution stones are difficult to find, or even if found, there are no suitable Pokémon or Trainers. According to your guess, Ash, Mega Evolution requires a strong bond between the Trainer and the Pokémon, which eliminates many people.

You know, the Leagues in various regions are quite pragmatic. Many of them treat Pokémon as tools.”

”I see. That’s indeed a troublesome matter.”

The two chatted for a while before heading to the Viridian City airport.

Three hours later, an international flight from Lumiose City to Viridian City landed on time.

Ash and Professor Oak waited for about thirty minutes in the airport’s pick-up area before they saw Gardevoir using Telekinesis to carry large and small bags, walking out with Delia.

When Ash saw them, he raised his hands and shouted, ”Mom, Gardevoir, I’m here!”

”Gardevoir!” (Ash!)

Gardevoir saw her long-lost ’poop-scooper’ and couldn’t help but quicken her steps.

”This child...” Delia shook her head with satisfaction.

”Mom, was the Kalos region fun?” Ash asked.

”It was alright, much more prosperous than the Kanto region. Professor, this is a gift Serena prepared for you.”

Delia handed Professor Oak something wrapped in blue colored paper.

”Oh, Serena is really sensible,” Oak praised.

Indeed, compared to Ash and Gary, Serena was very sensible. Those two brats came back from their travels, let alone specially prepared gifts, they didn’t even bring back any local specialties from other cities. They were such failures.

”Professor, I feel like you’re implying something about us,” Ash said faintly.

”Ah? Am I? No, I’m not,” Professor Oak flatly denied.
