Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 76: //

From then on, whenever Goh spoke up during the following questions, he was met with merciless ridicule.

In the end, he lived up to expectations, achieving an excellent score of 0 in this exam, a result that stood out among all other participants.

Even Giselle, standing outside the examination hall, felt ashamed; someone from their school couldn’t answer a single question, which was a disgrace to their school, so Giselle was already planning how to kick this embarrassing idiot out of school.

After lunch.

The real practical assessment began.

Even though he scored 0 in the first two subjects, Goh still didn’t give up; he did have a chance to theoretically pass, which was to get a perfect score in the practical assessment.

After Ash and the two others received their respective practical Pokémon from the examiner, they quickly found the corresponding examiner to begin their practical assessment. The three of them were just dabbling, not really caring about the assessment scores; they were rushing through the assessment simply because Ash wanted to see how unlucky Goh would be.

”Ash, it’s starting!” the examiner said to Ash.

”Go, Flareon!”

”Flareon! Go, Poké Ball!”

Ash threw out his first Poké Ball.

Out of it came a Weezing.

”Ah, this... could it be...”

Seeing Weezing, Ash immediately had a bad premonition; he remembered that in the original work, the idiot had obtained Team Rockets’ Pokémon.

”Flareon, Flamethrower!”

Flareon heard the command and opened its mouth, spitting out a stream of flames at Weezing.

”Weezing, dodge, then use Smokescreen.”

After Weezing dodged the Flamethrower by sidestepping, it Spit Up a large amount of smoke, directly obscuring the view of more than half of the battle arena.

Weezing, using the cover of the smoke, quietly approached Flareon. Ash commanded again:

”Good, Weezing, now, Double Hit!”

Weezing charged forward, sticking close to Flareon and hitting it twice, leaving Flareon unable to resist.

”Excellent tactics, but that’s not enough. Go, Jolteon!”

The examiner recalled Flareon and released another evolved form of Eevee.

”Damn, could all the Pokémon in this examiner’s hand be Eevee’s evolutions?” Ash thought to himself.

”Come back, Weezing. Go, Poké Ball!”

”Arbok!”

A purple-skinned cobra appeared in front of Ash.

”Jolteon, Agility!”

”It really is all Team Rockets’ Pokémon.”

At this point, Ash completely gave up hope; the third Poké Ball was 100% Meowth.

”Arbok, use Glare!”

Arbok’s eyes glowed red as it glared at the approaching Jolteon. Jolteon seemed to see something terrifying; its body stiffened and it couldn’t move.

”Now, use Poison Sting!” Ash commanded again.

Arbok opened its mouth and Spit Up a dense barrage of purple Poison Sting. Jolteon, in its paralyzed state, had no chance to dodge, and its luck was also very good, as Jolteon was poisoned.

Seeing the situation was bad, the examiner wanted Jolteon to use its ultimate move to end the battle: ”Jolteon, use Thunder!”

”Arbok, Dig!”

Before the lightning struck, Arbok dug a hole and quickly hid underground.

”Arbok, finish it, Sludge Bomb!”

After a series of attacks, Jolteon also fell.

Having consecutively defeated two of the examiner’s Pokémon, the onlookers outside the arena were all amazed.

”Is Ash’s talent in the Trainer field also this strong?”

Giselle felt very uncomfortable. Ash could easily defeat the examiner’s Pokémon using the Pokémon provided by the examination center, which meant Ash’s Trainer level was at least Gym-level. After all, examiners at the special examination centers set up by the League are basically close to Gym Leaders or are already Gym-level Trainers.

When Giselle previously took the exam, the result of her practical assessment was that she barely managed to defeat two of the examiner’s Pokémon despite having a type advantage, and the examiner’s last Pokémon still swept her team of three with a type disadvantage. In that battle, she truly realized that what Ash said about theoretical Trainers never being able to surpass practical Trainers was true.

Goh, who was also feeling uncomfortable, was clutching the assessment-specific Poké Ball he had just received, looking at Ash with a complex gaze of envy, jealousy, and hatred.

At the same age, Ash had already become an excellent Trainer and could easily defeat the Pokémon used by the examiner.

What about him? He hadn’t even qualified as a Pokemon Trainer yet!

This huge disparity made Goh’s heart gradually twist. He angrily flung his hand, not only throwing the Poké Ball belt he was holding but also, unfortunately, hitting a Nidorino resting in the shade of a tree.

The hit wasn’t very damaging, but it was extremely insulting, and coupled with Goh’s inherent debuff, Nidorino felt even angrier.

Seeing this, Goh turned around and pretended he hadn’t thrown it, but the hatred was already maxed out. Nidorino burst out with unprecedented speed and charged at Goh with a Horn Attack.

Nidorino, nearly 1 meter tall, and Goh, 15 years old and about 1.6 meters tall, Nidorino’s horn height was just right to attack his backside.

And because he was facing away, Goh truly experienced what it meant to have his backside blooming and aching all over...

Injured, Goh ’whooshed’ and darted into the middle of the examination area where Ash was, and at this moment, he coincidentally ran into Vaporeon and Arbok exchanging moves.

”Oh no!”

The examiner hadn’t expected such a situation, but the moves had already been unleashed, and he was powerless, only able to silently pray that Goh could withstand these two moves.

Of course, Ash had some psychological preparation for Goh’s appearance, but he had no intention of helping him. Anyway, he wouldn’t die, at most he’d be in the hospital for a few days. Besides, with so many people present, he didn’t want to expose his Psychic abilities.

He wasn’t very familiar with Goh either. He had saved this guy’s life in Viridian Forest before, and this guy hadn’t even thanked him. Save him again? He was afraid this guy couldn’t afford the debt of saving his life.

Due to Goh’s sudden intrusion, Ash and the examiner’s battle was forced to end. Of course, even without Goh’s disruption, Ash could have still commanded Arbok to defeat two of the examiner’s Pokémon. The final result was that Ash passed the practical assessment with a perfect score, plus his perfect scores in the first two subjects, making Ash the first full-score candidate at this assessment center.

As for Goh himself, he was a bit miserable; not only was his backside exploded, but he couldn’t continue with the rest of the exam.

The assessment center later verified the situation with the Nidorino’s Trainer and finally found that the culprit was Goh himself, and the weapon that angered Nidorino was the Poké Ball belt provided by the assessment center.

The assessment center and Nidorino’s Trainer both approached Goh after understanding the whole story. In the end, Goh not only had to compensate the Trainer over 50,000 League coins but was also blacklisted by the entire assessment center, and because of this incident, Goh’s last assessment opportunity was also revoked.

The reason, naturally, was his bad temper, making him unsuitable to be a Trainer.
