Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Conquering the Fossil Pterosaur

Chapter 71: Conquering the Fossil Pterosaur

”What kind of Pokémon is that?”

Misty’s mind was completely consumed by fear when she saw Aerodactyl’s ferocious appearance.

”That’s Aerodactyl! A dinosaur Pokémon known for its ferocity in ancient times, once the overlord of the sky! This one is actually alive, run!” Brock shouted in terror.

Ash grinned and said, ”Charmeleon, Flamethrower!”

Upon hearing the command, Charmeleon tilted its head back and unleashed an orange-red flame at Aerodactyl.

Seeing Charmeleon dare to attack it, Aerodactyl flapped its wings, creating a strong gust of wind, intending to blow away the incoming flames.

But how could the flames spewed by Charmeleon, which had accumulated a large amount of Fire-type energy and been enhanced by the Rainbow Feather, be easily resisted?

The flame struck Aerodactyl’s chest directly, and the burning sensation caused Aerodactyl sharp pain. The pain also ignited Aerodactyl’s ferocity, and it pounced, heavily slamming Charmeleon into a stone pillar.

With its attack successful, Aerodactyl returned to its original spot, a look of disdain once again on its face.

The expression was full of mockery, as if saying, ”You can’t even withstand one of my attacks, yet you dare to challenge me?”

Seeing Aerodactyl’s demeanor, Charmeleon was furious, and a white light suddenly illuminated its body.

”Oh, it evolved!” Ash was overjoyed.

As the white light faded, a robust Charizard made a dazzling appearance.

Pokémon: Charizard

Attribute: Fire + Flying

Ability: Blaze, Sacred Fire (Fire-type moves double in power, flames have a chance to inflict burn on the opponent, self-recovery of injuries when engulfed in fire)

Level: Elite (Early Stage)

Aptitude: Secondary God

After evolving, Charizard’s innate deficiencies were also compensated, and its aptitude returned to its original Secondary God level. Its ability also increased from a single Blaze to include a new Sacred Fire ability, similar to the one exclusive to Shinny Fearow, the photographer.

”Charizard, go! Teach Aerodactyl a lesson!”

Ash commanded.

Charizard stared at Aerodactyl, nodded heavily, then with a flap of its wings, appeared in front of Aerodactyl.

Boom!

A tail with fire at its tip swung heavily across Aerodactyl’s face, slamming it onto the stone pillar below its feet.

”Good, Charizard, grab it and use Seismic Toss!” Ash commanded Charizard to unleash its final decisive move.

Upon hearing the command, Charizard grabbed Aerodactyl’s tail, flew up and spun a few times, then slammed it heavily downwards.

Bang!

A large pit was created in the ground, and loose Rocks from the cave ceiling began to fall.

Ash quickly activated his Aura Shield, protecting Misty and Brock.

Looking at the unconscious Aerodactyl, Ash threw a Luxury Ball to capture it.

”Ash, congratulations on catching another powerful Pokémon!” Misty congratulated him.

”Congratulations, Ash, but shouldn’t we return to the surface first? Charizard’s last attack seems to have damaged the structure of this cave...” Brock said with some concern.

Ash nodded: ”Yes, you two go up with Charizard first. I’m going to find Pikachu; that guy felt something just now and went to check it out himself.”

”Huh? Pikachu is gone?”

It wasn’t until Ash reminded them that the two realized a yellow-skinned mouse was missing from their group.

Brock said, ”Why don’t we all go together?”

”No need, I have Aura, so I’ll be up quickly. Charizard, take them up first, I’ll be right behind you,” Ash told Charizard.

Charizard nodded understandingly, then grabbed the two and flew towards the cave entrance.

Seeing them leave, Ash sensed Pikachu’s location with his Aura, then soared into the air and flew directly towards where Pikachu was.

The application of Psychic—Flight.

A few minutes later, Ash found Pikachu in the nest of an unknown Pokémon. Pikachu was currently hugging a Pokémon egg about the same size as itself.

The eggshell had red and blue patterns, and Ash recognized it at a glance as a Togepi egg.

Pokémon: Togepi

Attribute: Fairy

Gender: Female

Level: 0

Ability: Serene Grace

Aptitude: Champion

Skills: Pound, Growl, Charm, Extrasensory (Hereditary)...

”Pikachu, time to go!” Ash said to Pikachu.

”Pika Pika, Pika...” (Ash, look what I found!)

Hearing Ash’s voice, Pika? presented the Togepi egg to Ash as if it were a treasure.

”Oh, a Pokémon egg! Not bad, but Pikachu, you just ran off without a word, do you know how worried we were about you?” Ash asked, feigning annoyance.

”Pika...”

Pikachu’s mood immediately became downcast.

”Never mind, since it’s for the sake of this little guy, I’ll forgive you this time. Come on, give me the egg.”

”Pika Pika!”

Pikachu gave the egg to Ash, then scratched its head somewhat bashfully.

Ash took out an incubation device from his backpack, placed the egg in it, filled it with nutrient solution, and said, ”Let’s go!”

Counting the Togepi egg, he now had two little ones waiting to hatch. One was the Abra egg given by Sabrina’s father at the Gym Leader Sabrina, plus this current one.

Abra and Togepi are both rare Pokémon, and their growth potential is very high; their upper limit depends entirely on the Trainer’s skill.

Pikachu jumped onto Ash’s shoulder.

Then Ash shot up into the air, flying towards the cave entrance.

”Pika!” (It’s over, Ash isn’t human anymore!)

Seeing Ash fly, Pika? showed an expression of Σ(っ °Д°;)っ.

Ash’s face darkened, and he pressed down on Pikachu’s head with one hand: ”Pikachu, don’t forget I can understand what you’re saying!”

”Pika Pika Pikachu!” (Ash, you’re amazing!)

Pika? immediately changed its tune and praised him.

”Good that you’re sensible. By the way, Pikachu, Charmeleon has evolved into Charizard! His strength has already surpassed yours. Your current strength ranking is number six!” Ash said with a chuckle.

Calculating by level, including Ancient Dragonite and Zapdos, Pikachu really was number six. Gardevoir was probably Elite-level by now. After Giant Onix was sent back using the Metal Coat, it evolved into a super-sized Steelix, also Elite-level. Now with Charizard becoming Elite-level, Pikachu, still at quasi-Elite peak, was definitely number six.

In short, as long as he trained one more Elite-level Pokémon, Ash could also be called an Elite Trainer.

”Pika?” (Nani?)

Pikachu could hardly believe it. Before Ash said anything, it hadn’t paid attention to these things, but once he mentioned it, it felt a sense of urgency.

”Pikachu, besides Ancient Dragonite and Zapdos, Gardevoir, Steelix, and Charizard can all Mega Evolve! You need to work hard, otherwise, hehehe...” Ash continued to fan the flames.

”Pika Pika Pika Pikachu!” (Ash, I also need power similar to Mega Evolution!)

”I heard that the Alola region has something called Z-Move, the Galar region has Gigantamax, and Paldea has Terastallization. These three battle systems can all help you increase your strength.

But unfortunately, I don’t have these items yet, and some things require going to that region, so Pikachu, you’ll need to get stronger through your own efforts from now on! Can you do it?!”

”Pika!”

Pikachu nodded solemnly. It, Pikachu, would never be number six!
