Chapter 85 Mew and Mewtwo

”You...who are you again?” Lance turned to look at Gary, momentarily unable to recall his name.

”My name is Oak.....”

Gary was about to introduce himself when Lance finally remembered: ”I remember now, you’re that snot-nosed kid who follows Ash around. Professor Oak’s grandson, I think his name was Meow...or Mao.”

”My name is Gary Oak, and I’m not a snot-nosed kid! I was just feeling unwell that day, caught a cold. I’ve explained this many times! You Flying Elite Four, with such a poor memory, no wonder you can’t become a Champion!” Gary retorted sharply.

”I’m not a Flying Elite Four, I’m a Dragon-type Master, you snot-nosed kid!”

Lance was silently cursing Ash. Before he met Ash, he was still the Flying Elite Four, but after meeting him, it seemed everyone started calling him the Flying Elite Four.

”Oh, right, what were you just saying? Giovanni ran away?”

It was then that Lance remembered why he was there.

”He ran away a while ago. By the way, Ash went to chase a powerful Pokémon created by Team Rockets. You Flying Elite Four, hurry up and help!” Gary shouted.

”You guys encountered that artificial Pokémon?” Lance was in disbelief.

They had raided several large Team Rockets bases before confirming that Giovanni was the founder of Team Rockets, and they also learned that Team Rockets was using Mew’s genes to create a powerful Pokémon. However, unfortunately, the Team Rockets members had destroyed all data before evacuating, so the information they had was limited.

Furthermore, they hadn’t thoroughly investigated Giovanni’s strength, otherwise, only Lance wouldn’t have come alone.

.....

At the same time.

Gai Liu Zi, who had just returned to the World Tree after a stroll outside, also sensed a similar Secondary God power.

Curious, he followed the sensation and intended to approach along the World Tree.

On the other side, Ash followed Mewtwo’s Aura reaction and quickly flew over the ocean.

Meanwhile, Mewtwo, who was ahead, also sensed Ash chasing him. He found a secluded, uninhabited island and landed.

Soon after, Ash arrived, riding Charizard.

”Mewtwo, let’s have a battle. If you lose, you come with me. If I lose, I’ll take you to find Mew!” Ash said.

Upon hearing this, Mewtwo said excitedly, ”Human, do you know where Mew is?”

”Let’s battle. I’ll answer you after we fight.” Ash’s attitude was firm.

”Alright!”

Mewtwo agreed without thinking.

”Ancient Dragonite, come out.”

As Ash opened the last Master Ball, Ancient Dragonite’s massive figure appeared before Mewtwo.

After such a long period of slumber, Ancient Dragonite’s strength had returned to the Secondary God level, but it still needed some time to fully return to its peak.

He dismounted from Charizard’s back and floated in the air, commanding: ”Pikachu, Thunderbolt! Zapdos, use Thunder! Charizard, Crunch! Dragonite, Dragon Dance then use Dragon Pulse!”

The three attacks were to buy time for Dragonite to stack its stats. Otherwise, Ash wasn’t confident he could defeat the current Secondary God, Mewtwo, even if Mewtwo hadn’t fully mastered that power. The difference in rank still existed, and it was not small.

”Hmph!”

Mewtwo waved his hand, creating a thick shield to block Pikachu’s attacks, while also conjuring an Aura Sphere to prevent Dragonite from stacking stats.

Seeing this, Ash also conjured an Aura Sphere and engaged in a power struggle with Mewtwo.

”Human, so in that building, it was you who used this special ability to protect them!”

Mewtwo saw Ash could conjure a sphere and remembered how his Telekinesis had been blocked by an unknown barrier during their Gym battle.

”This is called Aura, you can also understand it as Psychic.”

On the isolated island below, Gai Liu Zi was astonished to see Ash display Aura. ”Miu!”

”Pikachu, Zapdos, use Thunder! Charizard, Fire Blast!”

Pikachu hovered behind Zapdos, simultaneously using the Thunder skill. As the two skills merged, the sky instantly became overcast, with lightning and Thunder, and streaks of lightning struck Mewtwo. At this moment, the lightning displayed its true divine power.

Just one bolt of lightning shattered Mewtwo’s protective shield.

”The power of this skill is a bit off.” Ash muttered.

And at this moment, Charizard’s Fire Blast also hit Mewtwo.

”Dragonite, now use Dragon Pulse!”

With the pseudo-Dragon Slate and Dragon Pulse’s boost, Ancient Dragonite’s Dragon Pulse had immense power.

Mewtwo felt threatened and had no intention of holding back. He used Agility, grazing the edge of Dragon Pulse, and a chill emanated from his right hand as he rushed towards Ancient Dragonite.

”Pikachu, use Iron Tail to stop him!”

Pikachu swung a powerful Iron Tail, blocking Mewtwo.

”Charizard, now use Shadow Claw!”

”Zapdos, Zap Cannon, block Mewtwo’s retreat! Dragonite, Draco Meteor!”

”Pika.....”

Ash’s rapid succession of commands left Mewtwo struggling to cope, his body constantly retreating, and new scratches appearing on him.

”Dragonite, use Dragon Tail to force him onto the island!”

Dragonite’s massive tail, catching Mewtwo off guard, delivered a solid blow, sending Mewtwo flying onto the island.

”Excellent, keep up the pressure!”

The island below was a deserted island, Ash had already used Aura to probe it, and besides a certain popcorn-eating Gai Liu Zi, there were no other people or Pokémon.

”Miu?”

Mew peered into the Mewtwo-shaped crater.

Inside the crater, Mewtwo shook his head and looked up.

The eyes of the two Pokémon instantly met.

”Mew?” Mewtwo could hardly believe his eyes.

”Miu?” (Who are you? Why is your Aura so similar to mine?)

Mew asked, puzzled.

”Similar? Indeed, very similar!”

Upon hearing this, Mewtwo’s tone deepened, and the immense Psychic power within him surged towards Mew like a tide.

At this moment, Mewtwo had forgotten his battle with Ash; he only wanted to fight Mew and determine a victor.

However, as a Secondary God with a divine duty, Mew directly ignored Mewtwo’s Psychic and even covered his mouth, smiling.

Mew’s smiling face, in Mewtwo’s eyes, meant that Mew was ignoring him.
