Urban Supreme Evil Young Master

In the blink of an eye, it was nighttime. At this point, Meng Yue slowly awoke and slowly opened the bedroom door. Groggily, she made her way to the living room and saw Lu Yu lying lazily on the sofa, watching TV with great interest.

”You’re awake?”

Seeing Meng Yue awake, Lu Yu smiled and said, ”It seems like you were really tired. You’ve slept for an entire day.”

”That’s the thing about being a detective, you lose track of time when you’re busy,” Meng Yue said nonchalantly, as she was clearly used to her job. ”You get used to it after a while.”

Hearing Meng Yue’s words, Lu Yu smiled slightly and said, ”There’s dinner in the kitchen, you should eat something. Don’t you have a mission tonight?”

Upon hearing Lu Yu’s words, Meng Yue felt a warm sensation in her heart. She had many suitors, but very few were willing to make her a bowl of porridge. Lu Yu’s gesture moved her slightly.

”You’ve got some sense, knowing to make me dinner. It’s worth having made you chicken noodle soup.”

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Meng Yue smiled and walked to the kitchen, where she brought out a bowl of green porridge and put it on the table, her eyes showing a hint of suspicion.

”Can this stuff be eaten?”

Looking at the green porridge in front of her, Meng Yue hesitated, her eyes full of skepticism.

Since childhood, she had drunk many kinds of porridge, most of which were white. This time, the green porridge appeared very strange to her.

Despite her doubts, since it was Lu Yu who made it for her, she was embarrassed to refuse. Holding a mentality of giving it a try, she took a small sip.

Buzz!

As soon as the green porridge entered her mouth, a refreshing sweet sensation instantly surged down her throat, making her feel invigorated.

”Ah~”

After drinking a sip of the green porridge, Meng Yue couldn’t help but let out a soft moan. She immediately picked up the porridge in front of her and drank it all in one go.

After finishing the porridge, Meng Yue felt a refreshing sensation all over her body. The drowsiness and irritability caused by staying up all night vanished, leaving her feeling extremely comfortable, with a lingering fragrance in her mouth.

”What kind of porridge is this?”

Putting down the porridge bowl, Meng Yue looked at Lu Yu and asked, her words full of astonishment.

She had never tasted such an invigorating porridge, so she couldn’t wait to ask Lu Yu.

”This is Awakening Soup.”

Lu Yu, lying on the sofa, said lazily, ”You work too hard staying up late, so I made you a porridge with mung beans, mint, and dried tangerine peel to relieve the heat and drowsiness caused by staying up all night. How does it taste?”

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Meng Yue was completely shocked. After staying up late every time, she always felt a stifling heat and indescribable drowsiness.

This time, after eating Lu Yu’s green porridge, she felt refreshed all over, without the usual dull and irritable feeling after staying up late. Instead, she felt extremely refreshed and unburdened.

”The taste is pretty good, not bad. You really have a knack for this.”

Smiling, Meng Yue told Lu Yu, her words full of amusement.

”Didn’t I say before? Since I was young, I picked up some knowledge about pharmacology from my parents, so it’s no big deal,” Lu Yu said to Meng Yue casually, as if it were nothing special.

”Look at you, getting so conceited after just a little praise.”

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Meng Yue jokingly replied, with a rare show of girlish mischief in her tone.

Lu Yu shook his head and said, ”By the way, didn’t you mention you have a mission tonight? What kind of case is it this time?”

Upon hearing Lu Yu, Meng Yue smiled. Looking at Lu Yu, she said, ”Technically, I’m not supposed to tell you about this, but since you made me such delicious porridge, I’ll give you a hint.”

Looking mysterious, Meng Yue said to Lu Yu, ”Last night, based on clues, we discovered that the drug dealer Qi Wei, whom we’ve been pursuing, will conduct a deal at a bar tonight. So, we plan to make the arrest tonight.”

”Is that so? Well, I wish you success!”

Hearing this, Lu Yu smiled slightly. He originally thought tonight’s mission was related to what happened last night with the four assassins he dealt with, but it turned out to be a different event. Hence, Lu Yu was reassured that he hadn’t left any traces and smiled as he spoke.

Meng Yue was about to say something when her phone suddenly rang.

”Hello? Xiaoliu, what’s going on?”

Answering the phone, Meng Yue spoke with a tone full of seriousness.

”Captain Meng, there’s a situation. Everyone is in position, but Xiaogao had an incident and can’t make it. What should we do?” an anxious voice came through the phone.

”What did you say?”

Hearing this, Meng Yue frowned and said, ”Why did Xiaogao have to have an incident at this critical moment?”

According to Meng Yue’s capture plan, someone needed to go into the bar first to observe the situation and notify the team at the moment of Qi Wei’s transaction. Xiaogao was supposed to fill that role!

They had rehearsed this operation countless times, but no one expected Xiaogao to have an incident at this crucial moment.

”Captain, what should we do now? Our detective team mainly consists of familiar faces. Xiaogao is the only new face, and now even he has an incident. We can’t just abandon the capture!” Xiaoliu on the phone was also anxious.

”Don’t worry, let me think of a solution,” Meng Yue said into the phone, her eyes full of urgency.

Xiaogao’s role was simply to signal the team, meaning he wasn’t in any danger, but it had to be someone unrecognized, or they risked capture failure if Qi Wei’s associates identified them.

At this moment, Meng Yue’s eyes fell on Lu Yu, a smile forming on her pretty face.

Five years ago, Lu Yu was a notorious playboy, frequenting bars and clubs. With a five-year disappearance, his face was definitely unfamiliar, making him the perfect replacement for Xiaogao!

Thinking of this, Meng Yue smiled and said, ”Hey, how about I treat you to drinks tonight? You in?”
