Urban Supreme Evil Young Master

At this moment, upon hearing Meng Yue’s words, Ji Peng’s face showed a hint of mockery. He then said, ”Captain Meng, how do you know everything is clear? You should know that this person assaulted someone in public, which has already violated the Public Security Administration Regulations, so I have the right to detain him!”

Although Ji Peng’s words carried a mocking tone, seeing Meng Yue, the captain of the criminal police team, he maintained a courteous attitude in his speech to avoid any offense.

”But, Captain Ji, we’ve already investigated everything. All the witnesses’ statements are consistent, and the surveillance footage inside the 4S store is enough to prove it...” At this point, a young police officer couldn’t help but speak up.

Originally, this incident was stirred up by Wang Kai himself. Although Lu Yu was a bit heavy-handed this time, since the investigation was complete, he only needed someone to bail him out to leave. However, Ji Peng was adamant about not letting Lu Yu go, which truly surprised everyone.

”Enough to prove what? Are you sure you’ve investigated thoroughly?” Ji Peng, not wanting to offend Meng Yue, vented his frustration on the young officer, his eyes glaring like copper bells as he pointed at the officer’s nose and said, ”Listen carefully, we absolutely cannot let any lawbreakers who disrupt public order get away!”

This unwarranted reprimand made the young officer feel wronged. His captain rarely showed his face every day, so what was going on today? Why was he so focused on a simple case like this?

”Re-investigate everything now!” Ji Peng’s gaze fell on Lu Yu’s face, with a hint of coldness, ”Investigate carefully this time. Who deliberately provoked whom first? Did he verbally insult the victim first? Make sure to clarify all of this!”

Upon hearing these words, Meng Yue frowned. Ji Peng’s words made his intentions clear; he was obviously signaling the young officer to place all the blame and responsibility on Lu Yu!

Hearing Ji Peng’s words, Lu Yu frowned tightly. Even someone unfamiliar with the police industry like him could hear the intention behind Ji Peng’s words. This case of a seemingly ordinary fight perhaps wasn’t as simple as it appeared on the surface!

From the start, Lu Yu was very puzzled by Wang Kai’s sudden provocation. Seeing Captain Ji now, he instantly understood that someone might have been deliberately trying to set him up!

”Captain Ji, stop pretending!”

Thinking of this, Lu Yu coldly smiled and said, ”Captain Ji, did someone bribe you? Did someone instruct you to give me special attention, to teach me a lesson?”

Lu Yu had already seen through the essence behind this. Ji Peng would definitely not admit to such things and would instead come up with a bunch of righteous-sounding words to exonerate himself.

Upon hearing these words, Meng Yue and the young officer beside him were taken aback, gesturing at Lu Yu with their eyes, indicating that provoking Ji Peng was not wise.

”How dare you! That’s a complete lie!”

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Ji Peng slapped the table suddenly and said, ”We are police officers; we act in accordance with the law. What do you mean by your words? That’s an insult! A slander!”

”Since you are so stubborn, I will interrogate you myself!”

After saying this, Ji Peng turned to Meng Yue and said, ”Captain Meng, I’m going to start interrogating the case now. This case falls outside your criminal police team’s jurisdiction, so I think you can leave now!”

”You!”

Meng Yue looked at Ji Peng, ready to speak, but at that moment, Lu Yu’s voice interrupted.

”Captain Meng, it’s alright, you can leave first. This isn’t a big deal, and they won’t do anything to me. At most, I’ll just answer Captain Ji’s questions again and clarify everything,” Lu Yu said to Meng Yue with a calm smile, showing no trace of fear.

Seeing Lu Yu’s expression, Meng Yue wanted to say something, but seeing Lu Yu’s eyes, she paused and changed her mind.

Because from Lu Yu’s eyes, she understood the message: trust me!

His gaze was firm, carrying an inexplicable sense of assurance that gave an extraordinary sense of peace.

Seeing this, Meng Yue took a deep breath and said, ”Alright, since that’s the case, I won’t interfere in this matter anymore. Take care of yourself!”

Emphasizing the last few words heavily, Meng Yue slammed the door hard and walked out of the interrogation room.

Watching Meng Yue leave, Ji Peng showed a slight cold smile on his face. He then turned to the young officer and said, ”Go turn off the surveillance in the interrogation room and call Ma Dong and Song Ning. If there’s nothing else, don’t bother me!”

Hearing this, the young officer was briefly stunned, then nodded and slowly exited the interrogation room.

Not long after, the door of the interrogation room opened, and two men in auxiliary police uniforms walked in, looking at Ji Peng and said, ”Brother Peng, you called us?”

Hearing this voice, Ji Peng coldly smiled and said, ”Lock the door.”

As soon as he said this, the two men locked the interrogation room door, pulled up a chair, and sat next to Ji Peng: ”Brother Peng, what’s the matter?”

”Nothing big, this kid refuses to talk no matter what. That’s why I called you guys to give a helping hand with some physical work,” Ji Peng said with a cold smile, pointing at Lu Yu, his words full of coldness.

Hearing Ji Peng’s words, the two men showed a slight smile, then said to Ji Peng, ”So it’s just this little thing, Brother Peng, don’t worry. With us here, there’s no mouth that can’t be opened!”

Hearing the words of these two men, Ji Peng lit a cigarette slowly and said, ”What are you waiting for then? The surveillance here is off. Make him comfortable first, then ask questions!”

”No problem, Brother Peng!”

With those words, the two auxiliary policemen stood up, cracking their knuckles with a popping sound, and approached Lu Yu with a ferocious glint in their eyes.

Clearly, these people were planning to alter Lu Yu’s initial statement or make him recount the incident according to their prepared script, wanting Lu Yu to confess under duress!
