Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

The two sides had remained carefully out of each other’s way. Many beings from the Outer Cosmos found that extremely strange. It felt abnormal to them.

Even the Celestial Court and the Jiang Clan had their misgivings. In terms of foundation alone, everyone knew they could not match the Ji Clan and the Eternals. Those two forces had already gathered overwhelming strength near Earth, and they had every reason to avenge their clansmen and Holy Sons.

Yet even now, they still had not made a move.

However, some sharper minds could see the truth. Both sides were wary of each other. Neither wanted to take the initiative, because no one could guarantee victory.

If a battle broke out, even if the Ji Clan and the Eternals joined forces and managed to destroy the Celestial Court and the Jiang Clan, they would certainly pay an enormous price.

What if someone took advantage of their weakness afterward?

That was the reason the two forces had never acted. On top of that, no matter what, the Jiang Clan was a force worthy of fear.

They had a Starfield Lord behind them, and Lu Yuan himself was far from ordinary.

In such a short span of time, he had cultivated to his current realm. Some even believed he had already obtained that wisp of the Great Age’s Providence. Otherwise, how could he possibly have advanced so quickly?

And now, the Ji Clan and the Eternals had their clansmen act against the other races. It was highly likely they were gathering the forces under their command so they could wage a decisive battle in the future.

In short, the peace of the moment did not mean things would remain this way forever.

Some believed that soon enough, a great war would erupt.

Under such circumstances, the great races of the various starfields also had to seek a way out for themselves.

Because the coming war would likely erupt between the top ten starfields.

The Celestial Court was not yet counted among them, but with Lu Yuan alone, almost everyone tacitly treated it as the eleventh great power.

A Grotto-Heaven Immortal... Who knew when he would become a Creation Immortal?

Thus, after analyzing the situation, some chose to submit to the two forces, while others chose to draw closer to the other top ten starfields.

The situation was changing almost every day. Those weaker beings could only drift with the current, unable to control their own fates.

The Celestial Court had once been a force that no being from the Outer Cosmos cared to take seriously. Yet now, it could stand shoulder to shoulder with the top ten starfields.

Of course, Lu Yuan knew nothing of these matters. Even if he had known, he would not have cared.

At present, Jiang Taiyu had sent word from the depths of the starry universe.

He had decided to have the Jiang Clan and the Celestial Court join forces completely. There would no longer be any distinction between them.

Members of the Jiang Clan could accept the blessing of Providence, enter the Celestial Court, and become part of its forces.

Some Jiang clansmen were actually hesitant about this. They had always maintained sufficient independence.

However, they were to begin integrating into the Celestial Court now.

Though the two sides had already cooperated in all sorts of ways, this was still different. This was no longer two families working together. It was two families becoming one.

However, the elders of the Jiang Clan still agreed in the end.

Because Jiang Taiyu’s original words were that the Great Age had descended and calamity was near. No one could remain untouched. Even with the foundation of the Desolate Flame Starfield, it would be difficult to withstand what was coming.

The Celestial Court had its own unique advantages. If both sides came together, it would be a true union of the strong.

Unlike the other starfields, the elders of the Jiang Clan understood the greater good, and so they eventually agreed.

When Lu Yuan learned of this news, he was indeed a little surprised. He had not expected the Jiang Clan to agree so quickly. But he also understood that the Jiang Clan’s decision was made to face the later great tribulation.

Since he had proposed the plan, he naturally could not let them down.

Thus, Lu Yuan began another round of investiture. Most of those invested were Sages of the Jiang Clan.

Those in the Immortal Realm, or those weaker than the Sage Realm, were not included for now.

The reason was straightforward. The greater the number, the harder the control over the power of Providence.

Lu Yuan did not want any accidents during this period. Everything had to be done slowly. It could not be accomplished in a single stroke.

The Jiang clansmen who accepted investiture and wrote their names upon the Investiture Edict almost all immediately sensed a mysterious power appearing within their bodies.

Relying on that power, their original realms actually began to loosen. It was the same as when Lu Yuan had first conducted investiture.

Because every Jiang clansman was different, after receiving the blessing of Providence, they each obtained different benefits.

Jiang Huanyun and the others were truly astonished by this. They had not expected that power to possess such an effect.

Lu Yuan also discovered that after conducting this investiture, his power of Providence had barely decreased. Clearly, after gathering all Nine Cauldrons, the Providence they carried was indeed vast.

With that, he could continue with peace of mind.

Even so, he still limited it to those below the Immortal Realm, and he also informed the Jiang clansmen the reason behind this choice.

In addition, Lu Yuan gave these people the right to choose for themselves, because this was only a union. Otherwise, it would look as though he was trying to swallow the Jiang Clan whole.

He chose only those below the Immortal Realm because he understood very well that the strong might possess some means of resisting the power of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

But if they were weaker, things would be different. At the very least, they had to be given the ability to protect themselves.

After finishing all this, Lu Yuan did not continue.

First, he wanted the Jiang clansmen to adapt. Second, the process of investiture itself required a certain amount of care from him.

Today, he had clearly overextended himself a little. He needed to rest.

Unfortunately, Lu Yuan still felt that he had too few Ancient Tokens in his hands.

Even with six Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Tokens fused together, he still could not precisely control all the power of Providence. It was too vast.

Still, he was not anxious about it. Things had to be done step by step.

Since the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had chosen to ally with the two forces, it also meant they likely could not descend in the short term.

He had enough time to prepare many things.

During this period, he could also continue adapting to the power of a Creation Immortal. Then he could see whether there was any way to go one step further.

Lu Yuan knew that he was indeed a little impatient. How long had it been since his breakthrough?

But he had no choice. The closer things came to this point, the less he could afford to slacken.

There was no need to pay any attention to outside matters. No matter what trouble the two forces stirred up, it would be fine so long as they did not provoke him.

Their method was to force the great races of the various starfields to join their alliance. Although that would give them many allies in the short term, they did not realize that it would also cause even more people to develop thoughts of resistance.

Fear meant anger would follow.

Lu Yuan knew that even the two forces could not integrate all the strength of every starfield, so there was no need to worry.

What he needed to care about now was news from beyond the starfield, such as updates of the two Starfield Lords.

Or, after Jiang Taiyu spread word of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, how would the Starfield Lords of the other top ten starfields react?
