Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

”The Nine-Colored Altar has cracked.”

Jiang Ningxian’s expression shifted at the sight. She did not know what had happened, and said, ”Wasn’t this altar recorded as some kind of passage? Why is there the power of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons here? Could it be that they can come into our world through the altar?”

As the Jiang Clan’s Saintess, Jiang Ningxian naturally knew many things. The scene before her instantly filled her mind with all sorts of thoughts and questions, but she still could not determine the truth.

”What if this altar is not only a passage, but also a kind of seal?” Lu Yuan said. ”A seal against the methods the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons use to enter this world. And now, that seal has been damaged.”

Jiang Ningxian’s expression changed again. If that were truly the case, then once the seal was completely destroyed, the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons would be able to descend.

”I remember there should be more than one Nine-Colored Altar.”

Jiang Ningxian’s gaze grew grave. The two had known each other for some time now. With a single glance, they understood what the other meant.

Without hesitation, they left the Mount Kunlun Secret Realm and headed to places such as Shennongjia and the Mount Li Imperial Mausoleum to see whether anything had changed there as well.

For Lu Yuan now, entering those secret realms was no longer difficult. As long as he remembered a place with a Nine-Colored Altar, he visited it.

And then, he discovered that every Nine-Colored Altar had cracked. Wisps of black mist drifted out from within them, all of it carrying the aura of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

More importantly, the cracks on some of the altars were already frighteningly wide, as though they might burst apart at any moment. Clearly, this situation had been going on for some time.

Lu Yuan tried to repair them, but it was impossible.

In other words, the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons would appear sooner or later. He simply had no point of reference, so he could not determine when.

”What do we do?” Jiang Ningxian was also at a loss. Such existences had only ever appeared in ancient records. She had no idea what they were truly like.

It was not just her. Even her father had never faced such a situation. Too much time had passed, and even the information left behind was fragmented. How were they supposed to prepare for this situation?

”For now, we have to let your father know,” Lu Yuan said. ”At the same time, have him investigate what exactly the Starfield Lords of those two clans went to the cosmic borderlands to do.”

Lu Yuan still felt that this matter had a close connection to the Ji Clan and the Eternals. If they could obtain more information, then by combining it with what they had discovered, they might be able to infer many things.

”Mm.” Jiang Ningxian understood. This was the only method they had for now, and it was not something they could rush.

After investigating for a while longer, the two left and returned to Mount Tai. Jiang Ningxian told Jiang Huanyun and her clansmen what they had discovered.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan used the Investiture Edict to confer titles upon another group of people.

The power of Providence he now controlled was enough for him to do many things. Conferring a hundred thousand celestial soldiers and generals was no longer especially difficult.

He had not conferred titles on a large scale for a simple reason. Sometimes, more people did not necessarily mean better results. The key was whether they could play a proper role, like Zhu Qingyu and the others.

He had been waiting until he could fully control that power of Providence. That way, the benefits they received would be greater. Otherwise, it would only be a waste.

But recently, there had been far too many variables. First, the Starfield Lords of the two major clans had gone to the cosmic borderlands. Then he discovered the changes in the Nine-Colored Altars.

All of it pointed to one thing. What came next would be anything but ordinary.

Even Lu Yuan felt that his current strength was still insufficient.

Even an existence like Guang Chengzi had treated this matter with utmost gravity, and he seemed to have died in that great battle.

Lu Yuan did not think that his current cultivation could compare to Guang Chengzi’s.

But no matter what, I still have to take things slowly.

In the end, he let out a breath. Nothing could be accomplished overnight. He felt so pressed only because this matter had come too suddenly. Without any further information, he could only take things one step at a time.

Of course, Lu Yuan had never been the type to passively accept things. He began issuing orders to the Celestial Court members, having them go to various places to temper themselves.

This world had awakened, and many secret realms still had not been explored. They were just right for training the Celestial Court’s people.

This would also allow them to adapt to such matters ahead of time. Lu Yuan had a feeling that if the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons descended, relying on his strength alone might not be enough.

Even so, Lu Yuan’s first thought was still to keep increasing his own strength.

Time passed little by little.

Relying on the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token, Lu Yuan conferred titles upon some people while also channeling more Providence into Zhu Qingyu, the Golden-Winged Great Peng, and the others.

His goal was simple. He wanted them to reach the Immortal Realm as soon as possible. Only then could they be considered true powerhouses.

However, he had overestimated the effect of the Providence. Even with such powerful support, the Immortal Realm was still the Immortal Realm.

It was basically impossible for Zhu Qingyu and the beast kings to reach that level in a short time. Not everyone was like Lu Yuan.

There was no forcing it. He could only do his best.

Jiang Haokong and Jiang Ningxian were also cultivating, occasionally entering seclusion as well.

It seemed they had also sensed danger during this process. They knew they needed greater strength and cultivation if they wanted to face what was coming.

However, for the two of them, reaching Grotto-Heaven Immortal in a short time was indeed very difficult.

As the saying went, after becoming an Immortal, every step was difficult. Otherwise, how could one be called a powerhouse?

During this period, Lu Yuan also asked about the Starfield Lords of the Eternals and the Ji Clan. He wanted to know why those two had gone to the cosmic borderlands.

Unfortunately, even with the Jiang Clan’s strength, they could not find out for the time being. The two forces seemed to have deliberately concealed the matter completely. Even their own lower-ranking clansmen knew nothing.

The only option seemed to be going to the border of the universe as well.

But ordinary people would not dare attempt such a thing. The universe was too vast. Only true peak experts could casually cross it.

It was not a question of getting lost. The starry sky contained too many secrets. Who knew what one might encounter?

In the end, Jiang Ningxian brought back a piece of news. Her father, the patriarch of the Jiang Clan and Starfield Lord of the Desolate Flame Starfield, would personally head to the border of the universe.

He had also heard about the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons and knew how significant the matter was.

For that reason, he had to see for himself what exactly was going on.
