Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

The matter was already settled and could not be undone. The two Holy Sons were dead, and it was all over.

For the Ji Clan’s Third Ancestor and the elder of the Eternals, staying any longer served no purpose. If they were to stay any longer, they could become targets themselves. In fact, Jiang Huanyun alone was a threat to their lives.

However, Lu Yuan was more troublesome. There was something weird about him at the moment, and he had obliterated the two projections of those two Dao Protectors. If he were to work together with Jiang Huanyun, the two elders would be in danger.

With that in mind, retreating was the best choice to make here. As for the deaths of the two Holy Sons, they could deal with that later. After all, if they were to stay here, they would probably not be able to settle for mutual destruction and could outright be killed instead.

”They left! They actually left! The two Holy Sons were killed, yet they decided not to do anything about it.”

”What do you mean, do anything? There’s nothing left for them to do. You can already say that Lu Yuan has fully matured.”

”That’s right. No one can stop him now.”

The Immortals glanced at each other at the sight. In their minds, the two clans ought to have gone all out. After all, their Holy Sons were killed, which meant they now had a true blood feud to the bitter end with Lu Yuan.

However, the reality defied everyone’s expectations. Of course, it didn’t seem to be so strange when they thought about it properly. Jiang Huanyun was already strong enough to keep the powerhouses of the two clans fully occupied, and if Lu Yuan were to support him from the side, they’d surely die.

Setting that aside, they still couldn’t understand how a mere Undying Immortal was this powerful.

”Gentlemen, are you planning to stay on Mount Tai as my guests?” Lu Yuan asked softly, yet his voice echoed clearly in everyone’s ears.

The Immortals watching the battle jolted in alarm. They knew that they could not stay any longer, or they could end up bringing a disaster upon themselves.

By now, everyone present understood that Lu Yuan had become a true powerhouse in the truest sense of the word. He had become someone whom none of them could afford to provoke.

”No, no, no. We’re leaving now.” The crowd quickly came to their senses. What a joke. If they somehow angered him, next year would be their death anniversary. After all, they had just watched him slaughter two Holy Sons and the Child of the Present Buddha.

They weren’t as strong as those three, and their backers were weaker than those three as well. As such, they dared not say a single word more and decisively left Mount Tai.

Soon, no outsider lingered around Mount Tai, and the place returned to its former calm.

Down below, Zhu Qingyu and the others stared blankly at the sight. They truly hadn’t expected things to end this way. They hadn’t done a thing; they had only watched from the sidelines the whole time.

After the brief moment of daze, everyone broke into cheers.

The Peacock King, the Spirit Monkey, the Golden-Winged Great Peng, and the rest let out a full breath of relief. They thought this crisis would be extremely difficult to weather, but it turned out that their worries were needless. With King Lu around, no crisis was worth fretting over.

Their earlier choice to join the Celestial Court had been the right one after all. Humans and mutated beasts had come together completely to stop the beings from the Outer Cosmos. They felt proud of what they had achieved.

As soon as the Immortals from the Outer Cosmos left, the power of Providence within Lu Yuan gradually dispersed. Of course, this didn’t mean the power of Providence had vanished. It simply returned to the Investiture Edict.

As for Lu Yuan himself, that boundless power was drawn out of him, and he returned to his original state.

It was an unpleasant sensation overall, and Lu Yuan felt a wave of weakness washing over him. Had it not been for his formidable physique, he would have collapsed outright.

Jiang Huanyun sensed it. In his eyes, Lu Yuan had just played his strongest trump card. Since the trump card had already been played, Lu Yuan’s exhaustion was only natural. Otherwise, there was no way to explain how Lu Yuan had erupted with such overwhelming power in the blink of an eye.

Lu Yuan steadied himself, looked down at the members of the Celestial Court below, and said with a smile, ”It’s over. All of you should leave now.”

In the aftermath of this battle, the great clans and races of the Outer Cosmos would surely take the Celestial Court now, and they would no longer dare to act rashly in the face of them.

In other words, Lu Yuan had already achieved his goal, so keeping everyone gathered on Jade Emperor Peak no longer held any meaning, and they ought to disperse to do their own business.

”Understood, King Lu!”

The members raised no objection and dispersed at once. Even so, every one of them remained excited and thrilled. After all, they all knew just how much this battle meant for them and this world.

From now on, no one would look down on the Celestial Court.

The Holy Son of the Ji Clan, the Holy Son of the Eternals, and the Child of the Present Buddha from the Sukhāvatī Starfield had joined hands to attack Lu Yuan, yet their plan ended in a catastrophic failure.

They believed this incident was unprecedented, even across the universe.

Just then, Jiang Ningxian came to Lu Yuan’s side and asked, ”Lu Yuan, are you alright?”

She also sensed that he seemed quite weak, and worry stopped her from leaving Mount Tai.

”It’s nothing.” Lu Yuan shook his head. Just exhausted, that’s all. A good rest, and I’ll be fine.”

By tapping into the power of Providence, he had to pay a price. His Innate Spirit looked dim; this was the result of drawing too much power from his soul. It wouldn’t cause any long-lasting harm, but he wouldn’t be able to draw on the power of Providence in the near future.

He could force it, but he would put his life at risk by doing so.

”All right. Let’s head back first,” Jiang Ningxian said. She knew it was best to leave now. There was no telling whether someone was watching from the shadows. If they caught wind of Lu Yuan’s condition, there was no guarantee that they wouldn’t ambush him.

The Ji Clan and the Eternals had just taken a massive loss. They seemed to have withdrawn for now, but they were likely preparing to come back and settle the scores. Their earlier departure had only been out of fear of that strange power inside Lu Yuan.

Without another word, everyone left. With that, the affair had truly come to an end.

No one had truly expected the Celestial Court to emerge victorious from the incident, and to make matters even more shocking, Lu Yuan had cut down the Holy Son of the Ji Clan, the Holy Son of the Eternals, and the Child of the Present Buddha. He also slew the eighteen Venerables of the Present Buddha’s lineage.

The news spread like wildfire, and every single being from the Outer Cosmos couldn’t even begin to believe it, yet it was the truth.
