Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Waves of powerful energy raged throughout the Dragon Penitentiary as enormous bolts of lightning flickered into existence around them. Now, the penitentiary truly looked like a true forbidden zone.

At its deepest recesses, Lu Yuan hovered in midair with his right hand extended slightly forward. A steady flow of immense power poured out of his hand as rays of golden Buddhist light rushed forward.

Lu Yuan’s bearing had changed completely. He resembled an enlightened monk, and his face was devoid of sorrow, joy, or any emotions. Nothing seemed to be capable of shaking his mind. He looked like an enlightened Buddha.

Not far away, there were ancient temples along with Bodhisattvas, Buddhas, and Vajras with their faces radiating true compassion. They sat cross-legged while chanting Buddhist scriptures. Their mere presence transformed the entire prison into a Buddhist domain.

Within that domain, the massive black dragon sprawled out. Its scales were torn in multiple places, and blood seeped steadily out of its exposed flesh. Its life force had weakened to the absolute limit.

On closer inspection, one could detect an otherworldly energy clinging to the black dragon. It was a crazed, bloodthirsty energy that was fundamentally incompatible with this world.

In the face of this otherworldly energy, those who weren’t strong enough to withstand it would surely die in no time.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan had already made up his mind, and he was going to kill the black dragon. As Buddha’s Palm Domain became even stronger, it pressed down on the black dragon with increasing force.

He had learned everything he needed to know. The black dragon had accepted the power of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, and he would not let it live.

Just as he had said, it had betrayed the world; it was a traitor who had abandoned everything for the sake of power. Leaving it alive would only invite disaster. In addition, it had attempted to devour him earlier.

The black dragon could feel Death closing in on it. It had lived for an impossibly long time, most of which was spent inside the Dragon Penitentiary, and there were only two things that had been keeping it going—the power of the black blood and the hatred burning in its heart.

It had always believed that it would eventually get out and take revenge on the dragon race—no, on everyone.

However, it hadn’t expected to encounter someone like Lu Yuan the moment it emerged. It thought it had found prey, only to discover that its target had something that perfectly countered its trump card, and he was overwhelmingly powerful, too

It didn’t want to die; it was afraid of death as well, as dying meant it would truly have nothing left.

As soon as Lu Yuan made his move, the black dragon exclaimed. ”Spare me, and I’ll sign a Blood Bond with you and become your pet! As a black dragon, I am the most talented prodigy of the dragon race. In terms of both talent and bloodline, only a few in this entire universe are better than me.

”And I am a Creation Immortal at my peak! I’m at the third minor realm of the Immortal Realm, the eleventh stage of evolution, the Creation Realm! I’m an absolute elite even across the universe.

”With my power, you can accomplish many things in this era. All you have to do is spare me.”

The black dragon had yet to see the outside world, but it knew about the Separation of Heaven and Earth. After all, it was already in the world when it was laid down.

In addition, a Creation Immortal was undeniably powerful. They were beings no one could afford to ignore.

Both Yinglong and Jiang Ningxian revealed faces of disbelief upon hearing that. As the Saintess of the Jiang Clan, Jiang Ningxian understood what a Creation Immortal was; in fact, even the Jiang Clan only had a handful of them.

As for Yinglong, it was a dragon. It knew the pride of the dragon race. It knew that dragons would rather die than submit, unless it was to a figure like the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan. Despite that, the black dragon had decided to submit.

Yinglong was aware of just how powerful the black dragon was, and it was proven by how it could still display such a level of strength even after being imprisoned for so long. If it were allowed to recover its peak, it would be even more terrifying.

When the black dragon made its offer, both Yinglong and Jiang Ningxian found themselves tempted. A Creation Immortal serving as a pet could solve a great deal of problems.

However, Lu Yuan showed no reaction whatsoever. He looked unmoved as he replied, ”Sorry, but you are not worthy.”

Crack!

Lu Yuan clenched his hand, and Buddha’s Palm Domain shattered into pieces. The resulting explosion sent shockwaves that destroyed even space itself. The black dragon could not resist. Its trump card was no more, and it had been running on fumes for far too long. It had nothing left to fight back against Lu Yuan, who was at his peak.

Squelch!

A grotesque noise echoed as the black dragon’s massive figure split into thousands of pieces along with its soul. Eventually, everything before Lu Yuan was ground to dust, ensuring that the black dragon would be deader than dead.

Soon, silence descended upon the Dragon Penitentiary.

Once Lu Yuan had confirmed that the black dragon was completely dead, he let out a small sigh of relief. If it hadn’t been for the fact that it was weakened, he would have found it extremely difficult to kill the black dragon.

Now that the black dragon was dead, he turned around and walked over to Jiang Ningxian.

”It’s over. We can leave,” he said.

Instead of responding to that, Jiang Ningxian asked, ”Lu Yuan, why did you not accept its offer?”

”Why would I?” Lu Yuan replied, smiling faintly.

”It was a Creation Immortal at its peak!” Jiang Ningxian was exasperated. ”It was at the third minor realm of the Immortal Realm. Only a handful of figures in the universe had reached that level of evolution, so every Creation Immortal is a supreme powerhouse.

”I’m sure you know that some Domain Lords of the top hundred starfields are only at the fourth minor realm of the Immortal Realm, the Celestial Seat Realm. In other words, you would no longer have to worry about anything with that black dragon’s help.”

Jiang Ningxian truly couldn’t understand Lu Yuan’s thought process. A Creation Immortal was extremely powerful, and it was a black dragon at that. At its full strength, it would be more powerful than the average Creation Immortal.

If Earth had such a figure protecting it, even the top ten clans and races wouldn’t dare make a reckless move against it. Jiang Ningxian felt that Lu Yuan had been too impulsive in his decision to kill the black dragon.

Lu Yuan shook his head. ”You have to understand that it accepted the power of those Extracosmic Heavenly Demons. And you know what they are. That black dragon can betray everything else for the sake of power. It had even betrayed its own kind and the world itself. Could you really expect someone like that to help me in the future?

”And once those Extracosmic Heavenly Demons are finally here, what choice do you think that black dragon would make?”

”Even if it were a Domain Lord, I’d kill it all the same,” Lu Yuan added. This was exactly what Lu Yuan meant when he called the black dragon ”unworthy.” It had devoured basically everyone for the pursuit of power. It hadn’t acted like a noble dragon. Instead, it lived like a demon, which was why it had to die.

Jiang Ningxian froze upon hearing that. Now that she had calmed down and thought it through, she realized that Lu Yuan was right. The black dragon had already betrayed once, so it could definitely do that again.

Lu Yuan turned his gaze to Yinglong and said, ”Strictly speaking, the black dragon was your ancestor. I killed your ancestor. What do you think about it?”

Ao Ze blinked, then answered, ”It deserved to die. In my inherited memories, its existence nearly brought the entire dragon race to the brink of extinction. The only reason it was sealed rather than killed was that they couldn’t kill it back then.”

Lu Yuan nodded and said nothing more. He knew that there were other dragons somewhere in the universe, especially in the Sky Dragon Starfield. He had to know if killing the black dragon had earned him the dragon race’s enmity.

Of course, Lu Yuan couldn’t care less whether they would choose to stand against him because of what he had done.

Lu Yuan cleared his thoughts and took one last look around the Dragon Penitentiary. Then he quietly led Jiang Ningxian and Ao Ze out of the penitentiary.

Now that the greatest threat was no more, it was time for them to head back. He was going to refine this seventh cauldron and strengthen the Celestial Court once again.

On the way back, Lu Yuan examined himself. The drop of black blood had truly vanished, and not a single trace of it remained. At the same time, the wisps of purple energy within him had grown denser than ever.

The purple energy belonged to the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token. It had helped him transform his soul and body once before, and it had also helped him become an Immortal. Today, at his weakest, it effortlessly refined the power of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

Lu Yuan found himself curious. Just how much power was still inside the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token?

Naturally, thinking about it alone wouldn’t provide any answers, but Lu Yuan noticed that as he became even stronger, the mysteries of the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token were slowly unraveling before him.

Now, he could do many things that he hadn’t been able to do before. As an example, he could now actively control that purple light. Even though it was only for a brief moment, it was still a significant find for Lu Yuan.

Who would have thought that the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token would become my strongest trump card? Lu Yuan thought, shaking his head. He glanced at Jiang Ningxian beside him. He was thinking about asking her for more details.

Of course, he planned to hide the fact that he possessed a few Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Tokens. He trusted her completely, but Lu Yuan believed that it was better to be safe rather than sorry.
