Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

By now, the life force of the two Holy Sons teetered on the verge of going out. Of course, they could easily recover from such injuries, as long as they were given enough time to do so.

These were the gravest injuries the two had ever suffered since they revealed themselves to the world, and their hearts were paralyzed with fear. Before they could do anything, Lu Yuan sounded the death knell.

BOOM! Squelch!

A cataclysmic explosion echoed, tearing apart the two Holy Sons and dyeing the skies crimson with their blood. Their fleshly body and soul were obliterated, making it seem like they had never existed in the first place.

The two Holy Sons who had once roamed the universe freely were dead, and they could not be revived.

Everyone’s jaw fell to the ground at the sight. They knew Lu Yuan wanted to kill them, but they had never imagined that he would actually go through with it.

After all, those two were the Holy Sons of the Ji Clan and the Eternals.

This was bound to stir up a massive uproar across the entire universe, and everyone would hear of what Lu Yuan had done. Those present realized just then that they had just witnessed history right before their eyes.

”They’re dead... Those two Holy Sons are deader than dead.”

”Human Lu Yuan... actually does bite.”

”Things are going to become chaotic now. Things are going to be really messy soon.”

The Immortals watching from the sidelines were stupefied with disbelief shown on every face. They felt as if they were dreaming, but the cold reality had unfolded right before them. They had seen it with their eyes.

The Ji Clan’s Third Ancestor and the elder of the Eternals stood rooted in place at the sight, unable to utter a word.

Meanwhile, Jiang Haokong also appeared shaken like everyone else, but he recovered quickly and grinned. ”Now that’s what I call fierce! I like it!”

Lu Yuan had done exactly what he said and remained unfazed before any threats.

Lu Yuan had cut down both Holy Sons, and in Jiang Haokong’s eyes, that was admirable. The Ji Clan and the Eternals had always been an eyesore for him.

Jiang Ningxian felt the same. She had known that this was coming all along, so she wasn’t that shocked.

Lu Yuan slowly turned toward the Child of the Present Buddha and the eighteen Venerables. Everyone jolted and gulped audibly at the sight. Killing the two Holy Sons hadn’t been enough for him. Now, he planned to cut down the Child of the Present Buddha. Lu Yuan wasn’t just fierce; he was actually mad.

”This is bad.” Sure enough, the Child of the Present Buddha found himself gripped by dread. He had assumed Lu Yuan would stop his hand after killing the two Holy Sons, but it seemed he had jumped to conclusions too early.

The Child of the Present Buddha decisively said, ”Amitābha. I’m leaving.”

What could he even do if he were to stay here? The three of them had joined hands, yet they still weren’t Lu Yuan’s match. Now that he was all alone, how could he hope to stand up to Lu Yuan?

Knowing that Lu Yuan was a ruthless man, the Child of the Present Buddha decisively decided to leave, as he was afraid that he’d find himself in peril if he were to stay here any longer.

”Who said you could leave?” Lu Yuan asked calmly and stepped forward.

Boom!

Golden vital qi burst out of him, engulfing him. The power of Providence boosted his power. Of course, Lu Yuan knew that this state wouldn’t last long, so he decided to take full advantage of this temporary boost in strength by cutting down all his enemies. Naturally, he was not going to hold back.

In an instant, Lu Yuan’s aura shrouded the Child of the Present Buddha, and then it was followed by a fierce, killing intent.

”This is bad. Protect the Child of Buddha!” the eighteen Venerables roared, attacking without the slightest hesitation at the same time. The Child of the Present Buddha was of immense importance to their lineage. If anything were to happen to him, it would be a catastrophe.

In response, Lu Yuan frowned and swung his fist at them.

CRACKLE!

An explosion reminiscent of ten thousand peals of thunder echoing at once tore through the skies. As Immortals, the eighteen Venerables could stop Lu Yuan for a short while, but now that he was being empowered by Providence, it was a different story.

Lu Yuan had obliterated the projections of those two Dao Protectors earlier, so how could the eighteen Venerables stand against him? With just a single punch, all of them spat out blood at once.

The Child of the Present Buddha’s expression changed at the sight. He turned around to flee, paying no heed to what would happen to the eighteen Venerables.

”You won’t get away,” Lu Yuan muttered and opened his palm. Accompanied by the chanting of Buddhist scriptures, ancient temples rose from the ground one after another, enveloping everyone, including the Child of the Present Buddha and the eighteen Venerables. He had decided to use a Buddhist divine ability against Buddhists.

”You will not harm our Child of Buddha.”

The eighteen Venerables gathered while chanting Buddhist scriptures without pause. Clearly, they were ready to lay down their lives to protect the Child of the Present Buddha.

Lu Yuan frowned. He wasn’t the type to take pleasure in killing, but if someone was truly bent on seeking their own death from him, there was nothing he could do about it. With that, he brought down his palm.

Rumble!

The Buddha’s Palm Domain exploded, and the eighteen Venerables crumbled along with it. A single strike had cut down eighteen Immortals. The display of strength was so terrifying that the onlookers instinctively shrank back.

The Child of the Present Buddha, however, remained alive, but he was gravely wounded. Lu Yuan had anticipated that. He stepped forward, appearing right before the man, and said, ”They died for you, and yet you’re still alive?”

”Amitābha. They died for the Mahayana, and they will depart for paradise,” the Child of the Present Buddha replied, sounding indifferent.

”So that is your kind of Buddha.” Lu Yuan shook his head and raised his fist.

The Child of the Present Buddha knew that he couldn’t escape. ”I have forged a golden body. Even if you cut me down, I will not be destroyed. Benefactor, stay your hand and come with me to contemplate the Mahayana.”

Of course, Lu Yuan had no intention of answering and simply stood quietly. Just as before, he threw out a punch. If the man wasn’t going to die the first time around, then he would kill him again and again. Lu Yuan even considered dealing with his entire lineage as well.

Squelch!

Blood spattered everywhere, and the Child of the Present Buddha was dead, yet Lu Yuan could sense that his soul had vanished into thin air. It seemed he could come back to life again, thanks to his golden body.

Naturally, Lu Yuan couldn’t care less.

Now that the three were dead, the affair was finally over.

Lu Yuan turned his gaze to the Ji Clan’s Third Ancestor and that elder of the Eternals. He had no intention of attacking them, as he could no longer control that power of Providence. He had reached his limits, and weakness was creeping over him.

Still, Lu Yuan knew that he couldn’t let it show, so he remained standing while staring at the two elders.

The elder of the Eternals and the Ji Clan’s Third Ancestor finally came to their senses. They glanced at Jiang Huanyun standing in their way. Knowing that the affair was over, they turned around to leave!
