Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Dao Protectors existed to protect certain prodigies and allow them to smoothly grow into supreme powerhouses. Naturally, they were formidable figures themselves, and the higher the prodigy’s talent, the stronger their Dao Protector would be.

As Dao Protectors, they rarely appeared. If a Dao Protector were to handle everything, what would be the point of allowing the prodigies to grow stronger out there? Even if one reached the apex that way, it would be meaningless.

Upon sensing a grave threat to their lives, the two Holy Sons realized that they were going to die here unless they asked their Dao Protectors for help.

With that in mind, they activated their contingency plan, and streams of light engulfed them at once. Moments later, a powerful aura swept across the battlefield.

Dull rumbling reverberated up above, attracting everyone’s attention. When they looked up, they saw two projections over the two Holy Sons. Yes, they were mere projections, but the aura they gave off was terrifying.

They were projections condensed through a special technique, as they carried at least eighty percent of their true bodies’ power. The two avatars themselves were stronger than a Grotto-Heaven Immortal. They were beings at the third stage of the Immortal Realm, the Creation Realm. They were Creation Immortals.

Their gazes swept across the battlefield once, and they instantly realized what was going on. They cast their gazes on Lu Yuan.

”Attack him! Kill him! Don’t hold back! He cannot be allowed to grow any further, or he’ll become a threat to our clan!” The Ji Clan’s Holy Son exclaimed, his gaze suffused with intense killing intent.

As for the agreement he had made with the Child of the Present Buddha earlier, he decisively cast it aside. In his eyes, Lu Yuan had to die. Otherwise, the entire Ji Clan would find themselves facing a catastrophe in the future.

Killing Lu Yuan was the only right choice to make here. In fact, the Child of the Present Buddha seemed to share the sentiment, as he said nothing.

The Dao Protectors of the two clans frowned. They were not subordinates to the Holy Sons; they were Dao Protectors. They would only step in when the Holy Sons were in danger.

If this were any other time, they wouldn’t heed such an order, but they were aware of Lu Yuan’s fearsome reputation. They also knew that it took him practically a blink of an eye to become an Immortal. He definitely had a bright future ahead of him.

Upon hearing the order, they couldn’t help but take Lu Yuan seriously. Any threat to their people could not be taken lightly, after all. Hence, as they stared at Lu Yuan, their eyes began to fill with killing intent.

The two Dao Protectors hesitated no longer and nodded in agreement. ”Fine. We’ll make our move.”

BOOM!

A fierce aura erupted from the two. The powerful aura that surpassed Grotto-Heaven Immortals seemed to be capable of suppressing the world itself.

Everyone trembled, and the Immortals watching the battle from the sidelines were stupefied. They had not expected that the two Dao Protectors wouldn’t just save the lives of the Holy Son; they actually decided to kill Lu Yuan as well.

In their eyes, this was unprecedented. A Dao Protector was a Dao Protector, and as a Dao Protector, they weren’t supposed to do anything extra besides protecting those they were watching over, but today...

Jiang Ningxian and her brother were shaken. They truly hadn’t imagined the Ji Clan and the Eternals would be shameless enough to send their Dao Protectors to kill Lu Yuan.

They had no idea what to do, and there was no way Lu Yuan could fight back.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan frowned at the all-encompassing pressure closing in on him. He had known all along that the two Holy Sons would not be so easy to kill, and so he had prepared for any variables in advance.

Since the enemies were far stronger than he was, he would have to draw on an external power. As it happened, ever since refining the Nine Tripod Cauldrons, he had never once tapped into the power of Providence. Now, he wanted to see for himself just how strong that power was.

Boom!

It took only an instant. Lu Yuan drew on the boundless power of Providence within him, and the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token trembled, sending out streams of brilliant purple light.

Buzz!

A blazing light engulfed Lu Yuan, making him look like the Celestial Emperor. As the power of Providence settled inside him, a formidable aura burst out of him. In the face of two Dao Protectors, Lu Yuan still showed no hesitation.

He infused the power of Providence into his fist and threw out a punch.

BOOOOM!

The world itself shuddered, and the tremors even rocked Mount Tai. The power contained within that punch was truly terrifying.

The two Dao Protectors had just made their move against Lu Yuan, so they hadn’t expected him to erupt with a cataclysmic power. The strange, inexplicable aura in his fist, in particular, left them feeling like they were suffocating.

As soon as Lu Yuan’s attack landed, the two Dao Protectors found themselves feeling like they had encountered an unstoppable object. The very next moment, they were blasted away, and their figures grew faint.

Disbelief suffused their eyes. They could feel that Lu Yuan was nothing more than an Undying Immortal. In other words, there was a gap of two full stages between them, yet Lu Yuan had somehow blasted them away.

The two Dao Protectors weren’t alone, as the two Holy Sons were stunned as well. Of course, those observing from the sidelines were stupefied, too. Even though they had no idea what they were watching, they knew one thing for sure—Lu Yuan had just employed another trump card, and it was a trump card too terrifying for them to fathom.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan frowned, seemingly dissatisfied with the punch he had just thrown. He knew he had just taken in this power of Providence, so he couldn’t control it well right away, as he hadn’t gotten used to it.

With that in mind, Lu Yuan looked at the two Holy Sons and the two Dao Protectors in the distance with a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes. Then, without hesitation, he mustered the power of Providence once again and threw another punch.

BOOM!

A thunderous sound reverberated. This punch seemed to carry less power than before, but when the dust settled, the projections of the two Dao Protectors were nowhere to be found.

The world fell silent; every single person froze, with no idea what had happened. When they saw that the two Dao Protectors had disappeared, nearly everyone couldn’t help but gulp a mouthful of their own saliva.

Of course, Lu Yuan couldn’t care less about their reaction. He walked forward step by step until he stood before the two Holy Sons.

”Your contingency plan’s gone. Now, there’s nothing that can stop me,” Lu Yuan calmly remarked. The meaning behind his words was clear as day—the two Holy Sons were going to die today!
