Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

As the Holy Son of the Jiang Clan, Jiang Haokong held absolute confidence in both his strength and his talent. Among his peers, only a few could stand against him.

He had acknowledged that the Holy Son of the Ji Clan and the Holy Son of the Eternals were stronger than him, but this was due to the difference in their stages of evolution.

If he were on the same stage of evolution as them, he believed he could fight either of them without fear and perhaps even defeat them outright. This was the confidence of a Holy Son, a so-called child of the heavens.

He wasn’t being arrogant as well. This was simply a fact made by the reality that his talent and strength were superior compared to the majority of his peers. No one, not even the Ji Clan or the Eternals, would question him on his arrogance.

The gaps between prodigies among prodigies were rarely wide, but now, things were different. The battle between Lu Yuan and the two Holy Sons made Jiang Haokong realize that, ever since he arrived on Earth and met Lu Yuan, he hadn’t been able to best the man.

He had been training hard and had been improving since then, but it was clear that he hadn’t been able to narrow the gap between them, especially when Lu Yuan somehow managed to reach the Immortal Realm through his own power alone.

Yes, he had done it by himself with no one ahead of him to light the way. He had done it in the middle of a battle as well, and upon making a breakthrough, he crushed the avatars of those two Holy Sons as if there was no need for him to acclimatize to his newfound strength.

To make matters even more shocking, Jiang Haokong sensed that those avatars carried the wills of both Holy Sons. The avatars’ strength was roughly equivalent to their true bodies’ strength when they had just reached the Immortal Realm. Despite that, the result was still their total defeat. They were completely dominated and destroyed in the proverbial blink of an eye.

Jiang Haokong could not help but wonder. Would he ever be able to defeat Lu Yuan for the rest of his life? As someone with great pride, admitting that he was no match for someone else did not come easily for Jiang Haokong.

He did not want to think that he would not be able to defeat Lu Yuan in his lifetime, but the evidence was right in front of him.

Lu Yuan noticed Jiang Haokong’s mental state but said nothing. Some things had to be worked through by oneself.

He had just entered the Immortal Realm and had just emerged victorious from such a great battle. Fatigue pulled at him from every direction, so he did not bother with the formalities and simply smiled, saying, ”Everything is settled for now, but keep an eye on those from the Outer Cosmos.

”They’re a restless bunch. I need time to adapt, so I’ll be in seclusion for a while. I’ll leave the rest to all of you.”

Despite saying that, Lu Yuan knew that those invaders would dare not bare their fangs. After all, Lu Yuan had gotten so strong that not a single one of them could afford to ignore him anymore.

Still, there were things that needed to be said. He did not know how long this seclusion would take. The Immortal Realm was fundamentally different from every stage before it, after all.

It demanded far more effort to understand and adapt to.

There was also the matter of the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token. His curiosity about it had deepened after this breakthrough, as things wouldn’t have gone as smoothly as they had if it hadn’t been for that purple light from the token.

He had to keep studying it, and this seclusion was the perfect opportunity to do that.

Everyone present nodded. ”Yes, King Lu!”

After a battle of that scale, Lu Yuan needed to rest. Defeating his opponents had looked effortless, but his foes were still two Holy Sons at once. He definitely had to rest, especially so soon after a breakthrough.

After giving his instructions, Lu Yuan turned his gaze to Jiang Ningxian.

”As long as I’m here, there are certain things you don’t need to worry about,” Jiang Ningxian said. She knew what he was thinking and spoke first, putting his concerns to rest.

”Mmhm.” Lu Yuan did not say, ”thank you.” Given their relationship, words of gratitude were no longer necessary. He said nothing more and simply turned around before vanishing from sight.

His disappearance was a special ability of Immortals—the ability to tear through space in an instant. It was something out of a myth; a single step could carry him across vast distances.

”An Immortal... King Lu has actually become an Immortal.”

”Are we finally entering the era of immortals like in ancient times?”

Those who were left discussed today’s events among each other. For as long as anyone could remember, the word ”Immortal” had extraordinary weight. It was particularly meaningful for Huaxia, as its countless legends and myths told them that becoming an Immortal meant having eternal life, limitless power, and authority over heaven and earth.

In today’s era, almost everyone had awakened, but the word ”Immortal” still had a special meaning for those from Huaxia. Today, King Lu, the person they revered the most, had become an Immortal. In their eyes, it was like a scene straight out of a myth.

Jiang Ningxian shook her head and said, ”That’s enough. Let’s stop talking about that. Remember what he said. The battle is over, but we still need to stay vigilant.”

She was from the Outer Cosmos, but through the alliance with the Celestial Court and the time they had spent together, no one hesitated to follow her orders.

Zhu Qingyu, Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others all left together. Just as they had anticipated, the great battle itself was over, but the ripples it created were still spreading. The Celestial Court could not afford to let its guard down and had to treat the ongoing situation seriously.

King Lu had fought so hard to create this situation for them to take advantage of, and they could not let it go to waste.

After this battle, something changed within each and every Celestial Court. The fear they had once felt toward the invaders from the Outer Cosmos was gone.

Supreme prodigies? Holy Sons? So what? They still ended up losing against King Lu. And as long as everyone continued to evolve and become even stronger, they believed that they could surely endure any crises the future had for them.

Perhaps they could even raise the Milky Way Starfield into one of the top hundred starfields across the universe, just like what Jiang Ningxian had said. If they were to be a bit more ambitious, they would probably be able to reclaim their glory from ancient times!

Everything had just begun, but they had already achieved many things. Considering Earth’s changes and how it hadn’t been that long since the Global Awakening, everyone began to nurture a certain ambition in their hearts.

With King Lu in the lead, they believed their goal was not beyond reach!
