Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Lu Yuan hovered in the firmament with his robes billowing out of him. The unfathomable pressure radiating from him left every person below shaken to their core. They realized it just then. Lu Yuan had become an Immortal.

Their flabbers were more than just gasted; they were stupefied. Just moments ago, Lu Yuan had been at the absolute apex of the Great Sage Realm, but in the blink of an eye, he reached the Immortal Realm. How could such a breakthrough come so easily? It made no sense whatsoever.

The invaders from the Outer Cosmos were also shocked to find that the Holy Sons looked as if they teetered on the edge of disappearing to nothingness. Not too long ago, the two Holy Sons held the clear advantage, but in an instant, the tides of the battle were reversed.

”He actually did it.” Jiang Ningxian secretly sighed in relief. Even with all her faith in Lu Yuan, the worry had never left her. Now that he had succeeded, she could finally feel at ease.

Lu Yuan had just become an Immortal and had yet to digest his gains, but Jiang Ningxian understood that dealing with those two avatars would still be no challenge for the former.

Today’s crisis was about to end.

Jiang Haokong stared wide-eyed with his jaw on the ground. He had suspected that Lu Yuan was probably trying to use this battle to become an Immortal, but he hadn’t been able to confirm it until he saw it with his own eyes.

He was shaken. He knew Lu Yuan was strong, and he knew that the man would reach the Immortal Realm sooner or later, but he never imagined it would happen this fast. How long had it even been since Lu Yuan entered the Great Sage Realm?

Of course, Jiang Haokong was not the only one. Virtually every invader from the Outer Cosmos shared the same disbelief. Weren’t the two Holy Sons winning the battle?

Had Lu Yuan not been at the end of his road? How on Earth’s green earth did he become an Immortal all of a sudden? Could the two Holy Sons still kill him by working together?

Those who had been harboring some designs against Earth immediately buried those thoughts into the deepest recesses of their minds. At this point, no one could say for certain who would claim victory.

”An Immortal. He actually became an Immortal.” The Holy Son of the Eternals stared at Lu Yuan, his eyes filled with disbelief. Every part of the plan was set, and nearly every variable was accounted for, but the man reached the Immortal Realm in the middle of the battle, destroying their plan.

Moreover, Lu Yuan had done it in a way that made it appear as easy as taking candy from a baby. As far as he could remember, even he struggled to make a breakthrough back then.

The Holy Son of the Ji Clan felt the same. He could not make sense of what had unfolded before his eyes. He knew there would be variables, but he hadn’t expected this variable. He had never once considered that Lu Yuan could reach the Immortal Realm in the middle of a battle.

”We have to deal with him before he gets used to that power,” he said without delay. They had to take advantage of Lu Yuan’s brief window of adaptation to his newfound powers at the Immortal Realm, or they would never have another opportunity to deal with him.

The gap between the Great Sage stage of the Sage Realm and the Immortal Realm was a massive chasm. Typically, one would spend a lot of time digesting their gains after that breakthrough, and these two Holy Sons believed that window of time could be their last chance.

The Holy Son of the Eternals knew that as well. He nodded, and they stepped forward at the same time.

BOOM!

A devastating aura burst out of them as they unleashed the power of an Immortal. They knew it was the only way they could kill Lu Yuan. They had to succeed, or they would never succeed forever.

None of them could have predicted that things would turn out this way. Their combined power tore the firmament itself, and the two Holy Sons refused to waste another moment as they cast their strongest attacks.

Even as avatars, the resulting power of their combined assault was terrifying to say the least, and they had also pinned all their hopes on this combined attack.

”That’s it?” Lu Yuan shook his head slightly as he felt the power of their combined attack. Then he stepped forward, unleashing his own power. Streams of Golden vital qi erupted from him, but unlike before, Lu Yuan’s golden vital qi seemed to be carrying unparalleled power.

Lu Yuan threw a single punch. It was true that he had yet to digest his gains upon reaching the Immortal Realm and could not truly make use of an Immorta’s power, but it was irrelevant. What truly mattered was that he had become an Immortal. He was no longer just a Sage.

As the fist tore through the air, it brought along with it terrifying waves of power that swept outward. Unlike before, it did not devastate the surroundings. It looked nothing like an Immortal’s attack, but that only made it even more terrifying.

Thud!

A dull sound echoed clearly in everyone’s ears, and before they could even process it, they felt as if a mountain had manifested out of nowhere and was now sitting on their shoulders. Then they watched as the two Holy Sons were forced back by that unassuming fist.

The two Holy Sons seemed to have offered no resistance at all. The scene was like a complete replica of Lu Yuan’s predicament before his breakthrough, but the roles had been completely reversed.

Now, the two Holy Sons found themselves in dire straits.

So this is the power of an Immortal... Lu Yuan marveled at the sensation. He looked at the two Holy Sons in the distance and felt great.

If entering the Sage Realm meant going through a metamorphosis, then reaching the Immortal Realm meant a sublimation of one’s soul and flesh.

Virtually every aspect of Lu Yuan had transformed. A casual punch of his now carried an unparalleled power. If he wished, he could shatter the space around him or destroy the celestial bodies up above.

The Immortal Realm... it was truly amazing.

Meanwhile, the two Holy Sons were shocked. Lu Yuan had just entered the Immortal Realm, but he could already wield the power of an Immortal with such proficiency. Just how strong would he become once he had truly adapted to it?

Could he even be stopped at that point? No, it would be impossible to stop him.

The two Holy Sons truly could not understand their predicament. They were prodigies among prodigies; invincible among their peers, yet today, someone weaker than them had evolved in the middle of battle, reaching the same stage of evolution as them to defeat them.

Yes, they were on Earth inside their avatars, but so what? They were in full control of their avatar, and these avatars were as strong as them when they had just entered the Immortal Realm.

In other words, if Lu Yuan were on the same stage of evolution as them, they would stand no chance against him whatsoever—no, perhaps Lu Yuan would be able to crush them outright.
