Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Her voice was not loud, but Jiang Haokong heard every word she said. He stared at his sister with disbelief written across his face. He knew he had not misheard her, but he could not stop himself from asking, ”What do you mean? How can he do that when he’s at a huge disadvantage right now with all those injuries?”

Jiang Haokong’s voice was laced with confusion. He acknowledged Lu Yuan’s strength, and in terms of talent, the man was no inferior to himself—no, perhaps Lu Yuan’s talent was even better than his.

After all, Lu Yuan had reached his level of strength without the same resources that Jiang Haokong had been enjoying since he embarked on the path of evolution. In other words, Lu Yuan neither had a golden spoon nor a silver spoon.

Jiang Haokong reckoned that one would not be able to find anyone like Lu Yuan even if they were to search the entire universe.

Given the right conditions and if Lu Yuan were allowed to grow unchecked, he would eventually be able to influence the scales of the universe.

Jiang Haokong was even convinced that Lu Yuan could truly lead the Milky Way Starfield back to prominence and bring the Celestial Court back to its glory.

However, this all depended on whether Lu Yuan was allowed to become stronger without any interruptions or not. Unfortunately, the two Holy Sons clearly had no intention of giving him that chance. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have decided to cast their avatars down on Earth to deal with Lu Yuan.

At the moment, it seemed Lu Yuan was losing, and he was severely wounded as well. Just one more attack, and it seemed like it would be the end of his road.

After thinking it through, Jiang Haokong decisively said, ”We can’t afford to wait any longer. Let’s step in. We won’t be able to turn the tide, but those two won’t be able to kill Lu Yuan under our watch.”

He had already made up his mind beforehand. If Lu Yuan ended up being at a disadvantage against the two Holy Sons, he and his sister would intervene.

Both of them stood at the peak of the Great Sage Realm, and reaching the Immortal Realm was only a matter of time for them, so holding the two Holy Sons in check would not be a problem for them at all.

Even though Jiang Ningxian was the most worried about Lu Yuan, she shook her head and said, ”No. I trust him. The best thing we can do right now is make sure that no one interferes.”

Jiang Ningxian was afraid that something would go wrong, but when she thought back on the time she had spent with him, she realized that Lu Yuan had never done anything without being confident about it.

Since Lu Yuan had already made up his mind, he would surely extricate himself from his predicament. What if he was deliberately cornering himself to try and use that as a catalyst to reach the Immortal Realm?

At this critical moment, they had to remain calm and ensure that no one else could interfere.

”But...” Jiang Haokong did not know what to say, but in the end, he chose to trust his sister.

Meanwhile, the two Holy Sons looked down at Lu Yuan’s battered figure with a smile.

”I told you, didn’t I? This universe is bigger than you can even begin to imagine. Did you think that having a bit of strength means you can disregard everything?” the Holy Son of the Ji Clan remarked. He had on the same look of superiority as before, and his gaze remained as cold as an icy-cold cavern as well.

To be honest, he was worried that their plan could fail; he was worried that they would not be able to kill Lu Yuan. After all, a true prodigy was always difficult to defeat.

However, he had prepared thoroughly for this day. The Holy Son of the Ji Clan could feel it. Lu Yuan’s aura had weakened drastically. His strength seemed to be less than half of his peak.

One more combined attack, and Lu Yuan would certainly die.

”I don’t see the need for more talk. Let’s get this over with and kill him. We still have much to do afterward,” the Holy Son of the Eternals remarked. He was even more ruthless and decisive than the Ji Clan’s Holy Son.

He hadn’t said much and was focused only on killing Lu Yuan. He did not want to deal with any variables that could appear.

”All right.” The Holy Son of the Ji Clan nodded, and power churned within him. The two joined forces once more, and they moved step by step toward Lu Yuan. This time, their goal was to obliterate Lu Yuan, reducing him to nothingness.

All eyes were on the three, and everyone held their breath to ensure that they would capture every second of Lu Yuan’s final moments.

Just then, a power unlike anything that had ever come from Lu Yuan burst out of him. The golden vital qi around him receded at once. Every trace of power that had been churning inside him moments before became undetectable before being replaced by what looked like rings of light tinged with a purple hue.

Buzz!

Lu Yuan raised his head, and a dazzling light erupted from within his eyes. Every wound he had sustained vanished, and his entire being emanated an indescribable aura that swept across the firmament. Beams of light rushed out of him as Heaven-Earth Spiritual Energy converged on him.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

The next moment, what sounded like the beating of a heart reached the ears of every spectator. The heartbeat sounded as if it had transcended time itself to reach the modern world from ancient times.

What was going on? Everyone thought at once.

The two Holy Sons were the first to snap out of it, and they stared at Lu Yuan in the distance.

”No. He’s making a breakthrough to the Immortal Realm!” the Holy Son of the Ji Clan exclaimed. Shock suffused his entire being, and he did not want to believe the sight before him, but he was struck with an intense sense of foreboding.

If Lu Yuan were allowed to become an Immortal, they would find themselves in the middle of a disaster. By then, even if he descended in the flesh, he would not be able to kill Lu Yuan.

The Holy Son of the Eternals realized that as well, and his face changed drastically before he decisively charged at Lu Yuan, sending a terrifying attack.

However, Lu Yuan paid him no mind. His soaring fighting spirit and the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token’s sudden transformation had allowed him to seize the golden opportunity to touch upon the threshold of the Immortal Realm.

Now, he knew what to do.

”Everything begins and ends here,” Lu Yuan remarked.

Immediately afterward, an unparalleled aura burst out of him in an explosion akin to the birth of a star. It was too powerful and too overwhelming that it seemed to transcend all living things. In that very moment, Lu Yuan seemed to burn brighter than the sun itself, and at that exact moment, he shattered the barrier separating the Sage Realm and the Immortal Realm.

He was no longer a Sage but an Immortal!

Facing the combined attack of two Holy Sons, Lu Yuan simply smiled. He pushed out his palm, and a violent energy tore through the air. Every single being on the planet felt it. Indeed, the attack was that powerful.

BOOM!

At the moment of impact, the entire region was engulfed in an explosion as cataclysmic as before, but the only difference was that the boundless, indescribable aura wasn’t around.

When the dust settled, everyone clapped their eyes on a brand-new Lu Yuan. His wounds were nowhere to be found, and his aura had become far deeper and more unfathomable than before. He had reached greater heights in his evolution.

In stark contrast, the figures of the two Holy Sons across from him were flickering, clearly on the verge of dissolving to nothingness. They solidified again a moment later, but everyone saw that Lu Yuan’s attack had cost them dearly. Otherwise, their figures wouldn’t be flickering as if they teetered on the brink of disappearing.

No one had any idea what the battle would look like from this point onward, but everyone knew one thing for sure—Lu Yuan had done it. He had reached the Immortal Realm to become a genuine Immortal!
