Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Extracosmic Heavenly Demons?

The moment he heard those three words, Lu Yuan’s expression turned grave.

Compared with those Outer Cosmos beings, he believed that these so-called Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were the actual threat.

Those were beings even the sages of antiquity had failed to eradicate, enemies great enough to be called mortal foes.

The death of the Immortal Guang Chengzi was very likely closely tied to them as well.

When he thought of all the information he had obtained before, Lu Yuan was certain that if such beings were to appear, they would threaten the entire universe.

Without hesitation, he said, ”Go on.”

”The Extracosmic Heavenly Demons do not belong to this universe. Back then, the reason part of the Jiang Clan and the Ji Clan left Earth and crossed the cosmos was to wage war. You should already know that much, but that stretch of history is simply too ancient to trace clearly.

”In the end, even later generations no longer knew why they had left their former homeland. They only knew they had gone out to war.”

Jiang Ningxian’s expression was solemn as she explained the further details. ”My father and the clan elders searched through the records many times.

”Combined with the information you provided, they reached a conclusion. The reason our Jiang Clan left in the first place was to wage war against the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons. But for some unknown reason, that battle was never truly concluded, and from then on, our clan remained wherever we were generation after generation.”

The Jiang Clan and Ji Clan had left the Milky Way Starfield in order to wage war against the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons?

Lu Yuan thought it over and found that it did make sense.

As for why the later generations were not sure of this purpose, it was pretty simple.

The Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had not appeared again afterward, so over time, the descendants likely forgot that original purpose.

If he himself had not later obtained related information, the Jiang Clan probably would never have gone looking into it so carefully.

After all, the Desolate Flame Starfield was already one of the top ten starfields in the universe.

Its fame resounded across the major starfields.

From that perspective, it was only natural that they had gradually forgotten their historical purpose.

”Is there any other news?” Lu Yuan asked, not continuing to dwell on the matter. What he wanted now was information of real use. Everything he had heard so far was still not enough.

”There is.” Jiang Ningxian thought for a moment, then continued, ”Our clan’s ancient records say that the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons are extremely powerful. They are beings from another universe, and their power is very strange. Every so often, they try to invade other universes, though no one knows why.

”But one thing can be confirmed. Quite a number of universes have been destroyed by them.”

As the Saintess of the Jiang Clan, she knew that there were many different universes in existence.

This was what people called the Great Myriad Worlds, though this universe had always been one of the stronger ones.

Compared with it, the other universes were not all that significant.

It was much like the ranking of the top hundred starfields.

But those Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were different. They were terrifying beyond measure and had destroyed many universes.

They had invaded this universe before as well, but they had never succeeded.

And they had never stopped coveting it.

That was why they returned from time to time.

More importantly, there were not many so-called Extracosmic Heavenly Demons per se, but every single one of them was extraordinarily powerful.

”So they are a race that invades the various universes?” Lu Yuan finally understood.

To put it simply, it was like the relationship between hostile nations. The moment an opportunity appeared, they would launch a fatal strike.

It was only that they had all been repelled by the sages of antiquity the previous few times.

”Then based on the information you obtained, can you determine when the next invasion by the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons will happen?” Lu Yuan asked. This was the matter he cared about most right now. If it came too soon, things would become troublesome.

When that time came, the entire universe would descend into complete chaos.

”That... there is no such record in the clan.”

Jiang Ningxian shook her head. This was already the limit of what the Jiang Clan could provide. But she quickly thought of something and added at once, ”If you want more information, the Ji Clan likely knows much more. But my father said that for now, it would be best not to inform them first.”

”In recent millennia, the Ji Clan has been rather strange, so he wants to wait until everything is fully confirmed before telling them.”

Lu Yuan nodded. He shared the same thought.

The matter of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons held enormous consequences.

If it were spread around, who knew what might happen?

Besides, Guang Chengzi had also said back then that there might still be Extracosmic Heavenly Demons lurking somewhere in this universe, and were merely not showing themselves yet.

”People from my clan once said that this era would be very different. At first, I thought they meant the awakening of the Milky Way Starfield. But after walking this path myself, though it has not been very long, I feel it is more than that. This so-called Great Age may hold far more calamity than blessed fortune.” Jiang Ningxian suddenly spoke. Her tone was solemn, and her gaze was thoughtful.

”Yes. First the Outer Cosmos beings, and now the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons,” Lu Yuan replied. He also felt that many things were far more complicated than they appeared on the surface, especially with all the changes taking place.

”But no matter what happens, I will stand with you.”

Jiang Ningxian smiled and looked straight into Lu Yuan’s eyes.

Lu Yuan smiled as well, though he said nothing. After exchanging a few more words, the two parted ways.

Lu Yuan directly entered seclusion. The Great Sage Realm might appear very strong, but for him, it was still not enough.

He felt that he would only be able to possess some ability to protect himself if he were at the Immortal Realm, or even above that.

Every time he thought about it, Lu Yuan could not help but find it somewhat amusing.

The moment one trouble was resolved, new trouble would always appear.

Cultivation was much the same. If one did not fight, one would be weeded out.

However, none of that mattered.

He would keep walking this path until he reached the highest summit.

Time passed little by little.

As the Outer Cosmos beings had withdrawn and gone quiet, Earth finally entered a period of peace.

Previously, everyone had feared that disaster would befall them at any moment. But now, the mutated beasts were under the control of the Celestial Court, and the great enemy from beyond had been deterred by King Lu. For the time being, all crises had vanished. For ordinary folk, this was naturally a good time.

Meanwhile, the Celestial Court did not remain idle during this period. It went to the various famous mountains and great rivers in search of resources and blessed fortune.

At the same time, it continued taking in members with talent, perseverance, and resolve.

In short, after completing its initial accumulation of strength, the current Celestial Court had entered a period of vigorous growth.

In fact, everyone knew that even stronger enemies would appear in the future.

In the past, their hearts had been filled with fear and worry.

But now, because of Lu Yuan and everything that had happened, everyone had gained confidence.

And sometimes, confidence mattered more than anything else.

At the same time, Lu Yuan completely stabilized his realm during this short period of respite. He also cultivated his breathing technique and visualization method in hopes of reaching the peak of his current realm as soon as possible, while further strengthening his combat power to prepare for the series of events to come.

Just like that, three months passed.

One very day, Lu Yuan received a message from the Golden-Winged Great Peng.

Another one of the Nine Cauldrons had appeared!
