Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Jiang Ningxian had always believed in Lu Yuan. She knew that with his talent and foundations, reaching the Immortal Realm was only a matter of time.

Even so, she could not help but feel that his time on the path of evolution had been far too short. The Great Sage Realm and the Immortal Realm represented two entirely different concepts, and the gap between them was far more difficult to cross than the gap between the Venerable King Realm and the Sage Realm.

After all, reaching the Immortal Realm meant going through another metamorphosis—no, it meant becoming a transcendent being. Even prodigies among prodigies still needed a great deal of time to reach that realm.

In addition, they had to be more than just well-prepared. In fact, they would need the help of their clan’s elders if they wanted to safely cross that chasm. If anything went wrong during the process, the consequences would threaten one’s foundation on the path of evolution.

Hence, a breakthrough into the Immortal Realm could not be attempted lightly.

However, based on what Lu Yuan was showing right now, he genuinely intended to make a breakthrough in the middle of this battle. The writing was on the wall, so Jiang Ningxian became convinced that Lu Yuan was deliberately driving himself into a corner. Of course, she knew that he would succeed, but his decision remained undoubtedly dangerous.

”What did you just say?” Jiang Haokong asked, confused. He did not know Lu Yuan’s goal, unlike Jiang Ningxian.

”It’s nothing. Focus on the battle.” Jiang Ningxian shook her head and said no more, casting her full attention on the fight.

Those watching, regardless of whether they were invaders from the Outer Cosmos, members of the Celestial Court, or the people around the world, were gripped by tension and unease.

The stakes were just too high for them to remain calm. For the invaders, Lu Yuan’s death meant a golden opportunity. By then, they could slice up the pie called Earth in whichever way they liked.

The Jiang Clan was there, but could the Jiang Clan take on the entire Outer Cosmos? Definitely not. Hence, the only true obstacle was Lu Yuan.

For the Celestial Court and the ordinary people of this world, King Lu represented hope itself. In their eyes, he was an invincible figure, and his fate would determine the fate of everyone else.

Rumble!

Just then, deafening rumbling noises echoed, signaling that the battle had begun anew. Golden vital qi engulfed Lu Yuan as waves of overwhelming aura erupted from him alongside his indomitable fighting spirit. Despite his wounds and the blood all over him, he seemed even stronger than ever, rather than the opposite.

He charged forward, throwing punch after punch. There weren’t any fancy moves or divine abilities being used. Lu Yuan’s punches were being powered by nothing else but his raw, brute strength.

Boom!

Lu Yuan’s fist tore through the air, making what remained of the topography down below sway as if they were aspen trees. Even the firmament itself was ripped apart as a massive gash had split open across it.

”I knew he wouldn’t be easy to kill, but I didn’t expect him to grow stronger in the middle of battle,” the Holy Son of the Eternals remarked. His divine halo had completely melted in him, shrouding him in a dazzling radiance.

Lu Yuan’s performance was beginning to exceed his expectations, and he frowned at the idea of it.

”Indeed. Perhaps he really has obtained a wisp of Great Age Providence,” the Holy Son of the Ji Clan replied, his expression grave. The two Holy Sons were surprised by Lu Yuan’s strength, but that was all. Other than surprise, they felt nothing, as they were thoroughly prepared. Their avatars carried power at the first stage of the Immortal Realm, and they had already accounted for virtually every variable.

Today, Lu Yuan was destined to die unless... he somehow reached the Immortal Realm during the battle, but was that even possible? How deep of a foundation was necessary to reach that realm, and how much time one had to spend before the attempt itself?

The two Holy Sons were very clear about what it would take to reach the Immortal Realm, so they knew that making a breakthrough in the middle of a fight was nothing short of a fool’s dream.

Even the two Holy Sons themselves would not dare to do something like that.

Lu Yuan’s display of power was impressive, but it was still within their control. In fact, this was precisely why they had spent such a long time preparing for this day. It was all for the sake of handling just about anything.

Lu Yuan’s power had exceeded their expectations, but so what?

The two Holy Sons exchanged glances, then stepped forward in unison. Their power surged, and an unfathomable aura seeped out of them as both Holy Sons unleashed the power of an Immortal.

In an instant, the indescribable and unfathomable aura blanketed everything within five thousand kilometers around them. Then they threw a simple punch, just like what Lu Yuan had been doing so far.

Yet the simple punch crushed everything before it. The world dimmed instantly. Those on Mount Tai and those beings from the Outer Cosmos observing from the sidelines could feel it. Their faces went pallid at once.

Most terrifying of it all, the indescribable, boundless aura affected even the celestial bodies in outer space. They trembled like they were on the verge of imploding. An Immortal was truly a horrifying existence. If an Immortal wished, they could shatter celestial bodies from afar.

This power could never be explained through human technology, no matter how advanced it was. Those who felt it instantly lost all the color on their faces, and they instinctively knew that there was no way to resist such power.

To make matters even worse, the two Holy Sons on Earth were mere avatars.

Lu Yuan felt it too. For the first time, he perceived a genuine threat to his life, but the brand-new sensation did not make him feel any fear. If anything, it made his fighting spirit soar even higher.

”Kill!” Lu Yuan roared. In his eyes, a blazing will to fight burned, and his comportment changed in that instant. The Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token sensed something inside him, and wisps of purple energy poured out of it, merging with his flesh and soul in the proverbial blink of an eye.

In that fraction of a moment, Lu Yuan felt as though he had made contact with something, but before he could attempt to analyze it, the attacks from the Holy Sons’ attacks had already arrived before him.

BOOM!

A cataclysmic explosion ripped through the firmament itself, making it seem as if it were caving in. Those close enough lost their sense of hearing and sight at the moment of collision.

They truly felt like the end of the world was just before them.

After a while, the commotion cleared up, and in the distance, they saw the two Holy Sons hovering in the firmament. Lu Yuan stood before them, drenched in his own blood.

His contorted figure made it clear that all his bones were broken, and his figure had caved in as well. His hair was disheveled, and his aura was extremely unstable.

Everyone was stunned. The faces of the Celestial Court members went white. They had never seen King Lu in such a state of disarray.

Was King Lu about to lose? The same thought flashed through all their minds.

Meanwhile, those from the Outer Cosmos could barely contain their excitement. In their eyes, Lu Yuan had reached the end of his road. One more strike from the two Holy Sons, and he would be dead.

There would be no more Lu Yuan tomorrow.

The invaders lurking in the shadows became restless.

Jiang Haokong’s expression changed as well. Clearly, he hadn’t expected the sight before him. ”The gap between them is just too big. If he wants to win, he needs to reach the Immortal Realm.”

He acknowledged Lu Yuan’s power, but still...

Just then, a voice cut in. ”And who says he can’t do that?”

The remark had come from Jiang Ningxian.
