Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

The Celestial Court’s alliance with the Jiang Clan meant that the former had gotten far stronger than before. It was to the extent that nothing could threaten it, except for Immortals. What about the invaders who weren’t Immortals? Well, the Celestial Court could easily restrain them.

Of course, confidence was not the same as arrogance. The moment the officials detected the changes outside of Earth, they relayed the information to Lu Yuan. After all, Earth still couldn’t withstand a united front of invaders.

”So it has begun.” Lu Yuan smiled when he heard the latest report. ”That means the Separation of Heaven and Earth within the Milky Way Starfield has weakened yet again.”

He knew that those beings from the Outer Cosmos, especially the Ji Clan and the Eternals’ Holy Sons, would never let things go. The moment they found an opening, they would strike, so the news didn’t exactly surprise him.

In truth, he was even eagerly waiting for them. As for the reason why it seemed like he couldn’t wait to face them? It was all because Lu Yuan had realized that if he wanted to reach the Immortal Realm, he had to actually go out there and fight.

Sitting in seclusion would never be enough, and it was nothing more than working with closed eyes. The Immortal Realm was fundamentally different from everything before it. Becoming an Immortal meant transcendence, and transcendence meant experiencing what Lu Yuan had never experienced before.

Lu Yuan had already found the path to the Immortal Realm. Now, all he had to do was to verify things for himself before going down that path to eventually become an Immortal.

Without delay, Lu Yuan issued orders to the Celestial Court. All personnel deployed in the field were to pull back. The bulk of their remaining resources was to be distributed among the members, giving them every chance to grow stronger in the limited time available to them.

Even the tiniest change in the ongoing situation could result in the most intense upheaval so far. Lu Yuan didn’t want anyone to get caught in the crossfire, and he also had another concern. Who could say for sure whether those invaders wouldn’t immediately target the Celestial Court upon their descent?

Lu Yuan himself had nothing to worry about. He was unparalleled, but his people were another story. In addition, consolidating their forces was also a way of preserving their strength, so it wasn’t exactly a bad move to make.

Lu Yuan had truly considered every angle possible.

At the same time, he intended to use this window of time to make use of everything the Celestial Court had accumulated so far. In a short burst, he would produce another large batch of Sages. When the real fighting began, there would be nothing to fear by then.

Elder Ji, Elder Yun, Zhu Qingyu, and the rest of the younger generation received their orders and executed them without a moment’s hesitation. Under normal circumstances, the top officials’ orders had to be followed, but everyone knew with perfect clarity that the Lord of the Celestial Court had always been Lu Yuan.

His orders were like the edicts of the Celestial Emperor—absolute.

Having set everything in motion, Lu Yuan ended his seclusion. He spent his free time instructing his people in their training and evolution. Beyond that, he sought out the Jiang Clan members to learn more about the affairs of the Outer Cosmos.

Occasionally, he would even spar with the younger ones.

The Jiang Clan members all knew Lu Yuan was strong, but just how strong was he exactly? How come even their own Holy Son seemed somewhat helpless against him? They couldn’t figure it out. They assumed that prodigies were more or less equal, differing only in trump cards.

When they actually crossed fists with him, they finally understood. Lu Yuan gave them the feeling of an unstoppable war immortal. No matter what they did, no matter what techniques they deployed, they remained helpless. Forget making him fight seriously; they couldn’t even make him budge from where he stood.

To make matters even more terrifying, Lu Yuan was still a Sage. They finally understood why Lu Yuan had dared to face the Ji Clan’s Holy Son, who was an Immortal, even though the former was just a Sage.

His strength was truly unfathomable. How many people in the entire universe could claim to be as strong as him? Their admiration for Lu Yuan became genuine.

Lu Yuan showed no pride over it. When he saw the astonishment in their eyes, he offered no explanations. If he noticed a flaw in their techniques, he would offer a word or two of guidance.

All in all, Lu Yuan remained as busy as a bee. He even spent time talking about divine abilities with Jiang Ningxian. At his level of strength, he could use any divine ability at their maximum potential. In fact, he could do way more than moving mountains and filling seas; he could probably pluck stars and seize the moon if he wanted to do so.

Jiang Ningxian brought up a particular Buddhist divine ability—Buddha’s Palm Domain.

According to her, it was a formidable divine ability. The Jiang Clan had come into contact with Buddhists from the Sukhāvatī Starfield. The Sukhāvatī Starfield also ranked within the top ten across the universe.

The Sukhāvatī Starfield’s name alone meant that its inhabitants were almost exclusively Buddhists. They weren’t limited to just a single race, and anyone who followed the Buddhadharma could enter the Sukhāvatī Starfield.

In Jiang Ningxian’s words, Buddha’s Palm Domain was a divine ability that would be considered terrifying even among Buddhist groups. If the people of the Sukhāvatī Starfield discovered that Lu Yuan could use it, complications would surely arise. Jiang Ningxian raised the subject because she knew that Buddhists were not to be trifled with.

More importantly, their foundations ran extremely deep. In the distant past, even the Eternal Starfield had come out the worse in a conflict with the Sukhāvatī Starfield.

”So the Sukhāvatī Starfield is the gathering place of those who follow the Buddhadharma, and it’s a very powerful force as well?” Lu Yuan said, ”I’ve read that in Buddhist mythology, there’s Shakyamuni and then there’s Amitabha. Is it the same in the Sukhāvatī Starfield?”

Both were indispensable figures in Buddhist tradition, and each of them was regarded as a progenitor of all Buddhas. Shakyamuni, in particular, had a profound connection to Earth, and he had achieved enlightenment beneath the Bodhi Tree, so Lu Yuan’s curiosity was only natural.

”Yes.” Jiang Ningxian nodded. ”The Sukhāvatī Starfield also refers to those two as Buddhas. But as for whether the starfield itself has any connection to the Milky Way Starfield, I don’t really know.”

”I see.” Lu Yuan nodded and went silent. The Sukhāvatī Starfield had genuinely piqued his interest. As for whether they would be friends or foes, he wasn’t particularly concerned. If they were like the Jiang Clan, he would treat them with complete sincerity, but if they turned out to be like the Eternal Starfield...

The two of them talked for a while longer before going their separate ways.

Everyone knew that once the beings from the Outer Cosmos were here, a major battle would surely follow. Even if the Holy Sons of the Eternals and the Ji Clan weren’t going to be there, they would certainly do anything to attack Lu Yuan and deal with Earth.

Jiang Ningxian’s concern was that she was too weak. She hadn’t reached the Immortal Realm. The pressure Lu Yuan faced was immense, and if she was strong enough, she could help him carry some of that burden.

As one of the most exceptional beings in the universe, she had already found the path to the Immortal Realm before her descent on Earth, and Jiang Ningxian had no plans of letting Lu Yuan face what was to come all by himself.
