Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 251. Crisis Averted, the Immortals’ Will, I’ve Been Waiting for You

”That Lu Yuan can’t hold on much longer!” exclaimed the Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage. He was the first to notice Lu Yuan’s situation on the moon. The distance was immense, but they were Sages, so their line of sight could easily cover that massive distance.

The other eleven Lesser Sages turned to look as well.

On the moon’s surface, Lu Yuan’s complexion had turned even paler. He was trembling like an aspen tree, and a thin trail of blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. He looked incredibly weak, and the aura he radiated was so unstable that he seemed ready to collapse at any moment.

The Sages were surprised at first, but they instantly realized what had happened.

”He may have activated the contingency plan, but too many years have passed since it was made.”

”Exactly. Their duration also depends entirely on how long he can hold out.”

”And with the Immortals making their move, it’s not a surprise that he suffered. A mere Venerable King Realm cultivator is just far too weak for this.”

The meaning behind their words was simple enough. As the one doing the sacrifice, he had to bear a portion of the pressure himself. However, his enemies were Immortals, so even the smallest sliver of their power was something a Venerable King could never withstand.

On the other side, Uncle Jiang grew tense the moment he noticed Lu Yuan’s condition. He had known this would happen, but there was no one who could help Lu Yuan. Everything rested on him alone.

”Whether we can buy Earth another window of time to breathe depends on this very moment,” Uncle Jiang murmured to himself, hoping Lu Yuan could persevere.

However, failure would be understandable here. After all, he was facing formidable Immortals rather than just some random Tom, Dick, and Harry. He could borrow as much power as he could from any external source, but it still wouldn’t make up for the difference between himself and those Immortals.

On the moon, Lu Yuan felt as if a mountain had been dropped on his shoulders. Terrifying waves of energy swept across him in relentless waves, and even the Yongzhou Cauldron shook from the strain.

He looked up and saw that the silhouettes of the sages were fading away at an alarming rate. The golden runes were the same.

Meanwhile, the roaring river of energy made from the combined power of the Immortals and the projection of ancestral planets erupted with a dazzling light as it drew closer and closer to Earth.

If it reached its target, it would carve open a passageway between the planet and the starfields in the Outer Cosmos. There would be no need for a long journey by then, and beings from the Outer Cosmos could reach Earth en masse.

That was the last thing Lu Yuan wanted. His goal here went beyond shattering the Immortals’ plan. He also intended to use this opportunity to deliver a warning. He wanted to make those beings from the Outer Cosmos and their Immortals feel like they couldn’t trifle with Earth.

Of course, none of those mattered if the Separation of Heaven and Earth was compromised. Everything he had done would be for nothing.

The more sincere the sacrifice, the greater the response, Lu Yuan told himself. The beings who had created the Separation of Heaven and Earth were certainly far more powerful than the Immortals. He simply hadn’t done enough yet.

He had to push even harder. He sliced open his palm once more.

This time, what flowed out wasn’t just ordinary golden blood. It was his blood essence, born from the transformation his body had undergone after fusing with the blood essence of Shennong. It carried a far more profound power.

This would take a massive toll on him, but right now, he couldn’t afford to care.

Rumble!

The moment that blood essence poured into the bronze cauldron, the Yongzhou Cauldron shuddered and erupted with light. The flowers, birds, fish, and insects etched across its surface seemed to be on the verge of springing to life.

At the same time, Earth’s golden runes burned even brighter and fiercer than ever.

The silhouettes of the sages of antiquity grew clearer as well. Then, they seemed to have realized something and glanced at the moon. Realizing that a descendant had inherited their will and was fighting with everything he had to protect Earth, they turned to face the oncoming river of energy and struck once more.

BOOM!

Every celestial body in the solar system trembled.

The silhouettes of the sages dissolved, transforming into a streak of light that shattered the roaring river of energy outright. The projections of the ancestral planets vanished along with it.

The void became calm once again, as even the vestiges of the projections’ power were obliterated. The crisis was averted, and it all happened in an instant, leaving all twelve Lesser Sages in stunned disbelief.

They could not comprehend how Lu Yuan had done something like that. He had been facing Immortals, after all.

Uncle Jiang’s eyes lit up. He could sense that the Immortals had paid a considerable price just to construct that roaring river of energy. Projecting an ancestral planet’s power from the other end of the universe to reach Earth was an extremely taxing endeavor. Even those old monsters would find it nearly impossible to make another attempt anytime soon.

Uncle Jiang realized it just then—Lu Yuan had succeeded.

However, Lu Yuan continued with the sacrifice. He remained on the moon with his expression grave as he stared into the distance.

Through the Yongzhou Cauldron, he sensed something far more powerful gathering in the distant space.

The twelve Lesser Sages felt it too, and their faces changed drastically.

The projections of the ancestral planets had already vanished, but it seemed that the Immortals weren’t done yet. A single beam of light flitted across the universe, transcending both space and even time as it made a beeline for Earth.

Before anyone could make sense of what was happening, a thunderous rebuke echoed across the solar system.

”How bold of you to ruin our plans time and time again! Are you not afraid of being obliterated?”

The booming voice sent waves of crushing pressure sweeping across the solar system. The moon itself shuddered, and cracks scattered open across its surface.

All twelve Lesser Sages coughed up blood. The crushing pressure was just too strong, and even they could not withstand it. When they recovered their senses, they finally saw what was going on.

They saw dazzling projections of the Immortals ahead of them. Once again, the Immortals had projected themselves across vast distances.

Unlike before, however, these weren’t mere projections. They were avatars made of will—an Immortal’s will. Each one carried one percent of its original body’s power, but even that alone was enough to crush any Sage.

The twelve Lesser Sages counted the avatars and felt their blood run cold. A quick count told them that there were at least twenty of them in the distance.

They stood proudly above the moon and immediately rebuked Lu Yuan as soon as they appeared. Lu Yuan had destroyed their plans, and they were beyond furious. They could no longer tolerate any disruption of their plans by Lu Yuan’s hands, so they decided to pay a massive price to manifest their will across a huge distance.

It was over. Lu Yuan was dead. He had pushed the Immortals past their breaking point. The plan’s failure meant they could not attempt it again anytime soon, and they intended to pour every ounce of their rage onto Lu Yuan.

Uncle Jiang’s face drained of color at the sight. He hadn’t anticipated this at all.

To everyone’s surprise, however, Lu Yuan showed no fear at the sight. Instead, he smiled and said, ”Great. I’ve been waiting for you!”
