Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 254. Entering the Sage Realm? Brewing a Plan, Luring the Snakes from Their Holes

Jiang Ningxian had an excellent eye for such things. In addition, she happened to know that Lu Yuan teetered on the edge of the Sage Realm. He rushed out of Earth, refused to retreat in the face of a catastrophe, and fought back against the Immortals’ Will.

He had basically fought a war by himself. Under such brutal conditions, a breakthrough was inevitable. Now, he was certainly qualified to enter the Sage Realm. In a way, this ordeal was a blessing in disguise.

The Sage Realm marked a watershed in the path of evolution, and reaching it was difficult, even for beings from the Outer Cosmos. Some spent decades stuck at the pinnacle of the Venerable King Realm, while others languished for a century or more.

If one wanted to make a breakthrough into the Sage Realm after just a single event or opportunity, then one certainly needed enough luck to do so.

Everyone present froze upon hearing Jiang Ningxian’s words.

The Sage Realm?

The words hit them like a lightning bolt. The Sage Realm was the sixth stage of the path of evolution. How long had it been since the Global Awakening? It hadn’t been that long, and most people were still in the second or third stage of evolution.

None of the recorded Awakened had reached the fourth stage, the Golden Body Realm. Perhaps someone would reach that soon, but for now, none of them had reached that stage yet.

However, King Lu was about to reach the sixth stage, far surpassing every other registered Awakened. It was a feat that truly defied all expectations. The speed at which he evolved was simply horrifying.

Everyone turned toward Lu Yuan and swallowed hard, awaiting his response. Earth had yet to have a native Sage, but they all knew that becoming a Sage meant obtaining extraordinary power.

In fact, those beings from the Outer Cosmos had yet to make a full-on descent precisely because Sages were just too strong, and the Separation of Heaven and Earth forbade their existence on Earth.

”That’s right. Once I’ve tended to my injuries, I should be able to make a breakthrough,” Lu Yuan replied, nodding without hesitation. He did not deny it, as there was no need to hide it.

At the same time, he needed to instill some confidence in Elder Ji and the others.

The threat of invaders from the Outer Cosmos remained. The stronger he became, the more equipped they were to handle whatever came next. In other words, Lu Yuan becoming even stronger would boost everyone’s confidence.

Still, Lu Yuan did not believe he could solve everything on his own. Otherwise, there would have been no need to rebuild the Celestial Court.

During ancient times, the Milky Way Starfield was at the peak of its glory. Since the Global Awakening was already underway, why couldn’t he restore that glory?

Only by doing so could they stand shoulder to shoulder with the great clans and races of the Outer Cosmos. Lu Yuan also knew full well that even stronger enemies awaited them in the future.

Hence, creating a powerful organization was of vital importance.

Zhu Qingyu and the others looked weak at the moment, but every one of them had extraordinary potential. The living beings of this world evolved at an incredible pace. Given enough time and resources, they’d grow into true powerhouses in their own right.

”Great! That’s great!”

Elder Ji and the others erupted with excitement upon hearing that. The gloom cast by Lu Yuan’s injuries was swept away in an instant.

Once King Lu reached the Void Sage Realm, his strength would increase dramatically. Afterward, he’d be on his way to becoming a Lesser Sage, a Great Sage, and finally, an Immortal. Everyone else felt the same, and they had no idea what to say.

The members of the younger generation were particularly speechless, as Lu Yuan was the goal they had been chasing all this time.

”King Lu, once you’ve healed and are out of seclusion, what do you think about dealing with those beings from the Outer Cosmos that are already here?” Elder Yun asked, his eyes filled with anticipation.

He was reminded of what those beings from the Outer Cosmos had done recently. They had spread all manner of rumors, plunging the world into chaos. If not for the officials’ desperate efforts to maintain order, anarchy would have happened, which would have resulted in the loss of many lives.

As the man responsible for maintaining stability and military affairs, Elder Yun had been closely observing the situation. His line of thought was straightforward. Lu Yuan was already the strongest person alive, so if he reached the Sage Realm, no one would be able to oppose him.

At that point, he could suppress everyone and intimidate the beings from the Outer Cosmos. The others shared the same thought. Earth was their home, and they would not allow those invaders to run rampant.

However, Lu Yuan shook his head and smiled. ”No need. If they want to cause trouble, then let them do it. If they don’t cause enough trouble, how am I supposed to justify sweeping them all up at once?”

His words confused everyone for a moment, but Jiang Ningxian instantly understood what he was trying to say.

”Hide my upcoming breakthrough into the Sage Realm,” Lu Yuan added, ”At the same time, put out word that I was gravely injured and that I’m on the verge of death.”

”You mean to use this opportunity to draw out everyone who’s been causing trouble and deal with them all at once?” Elder Ji asked. As a seasoned veteran, he immediately realized that Lu Yuan wanted to create a trap.

By making the entire world believe that Lu Yuan was critically wounded, those who had been holding back out of fear would throw all caution to the wind and reveal themselves.

Those beings from the Outer Cosmos would surely appear, along with those from certain financial consortiums and conglomerates, who were colluding with them.

In truth, much of the recent unrest had been orchestrated by exactly those people. The officials no longer held the absolute control they had before the Global Awakening, leaving them powerless against those in the shadows.

However, it was a different story once they heard that Lu Yuan was injured and dying.

”Exactly.” Lu Yuan nodded. ”I’ve been patient long enough. It’s time to clean out the scum.”

The Zhou Family was a great example. Lu Yuan was going to make use of this opportunity to deal with those who had defected to the other side for the sake of uniting every living being on Earth under one banner.

”Understood. The moment you enter seclusion, I’ll set things in motion,” Elder Ji said with conviction. He thought it was an excellent plan; it was the equivalent of draining an abscess in one go and luring the snakes out of their holes.

Once those hidden threats were removed, they’d be able to face those from Outer Cosmos without worrying about getting stabbed in the back.

No one had any objections. Indeed, solving everything at once was far better than dealing with endless trouble down the line.

”Good,” Lu Yuan said. ”I’m going into seclusion for a while. Beyond what I’ve already mentioned, there’s one more thing you need to prepare. Take every resource that you’ve gathered so far and pour all of it into training the Awakened.

”I somehow managed to stop their full-on descent, but the entire ordeal consumed a huge chunk of the Separation of Heaven and Earth’s power.

”The changes ahead will be even more intense. The next wave of arrivals might include beings at the Sage Realm.”

The inevitable would eventually happen, and Lu Yuan could only delay it. He had succeeded, averting the catastrophe of a premature full-scale invasion that had occurred in his previous life. However, there was no room for complacency, as his success remained only temporary.

The contingency plan that the sages of antiquity had left behind couldn’t protect their descendants forever.

He knew that many of the great clans and races had already entered the Milky Way Starfield. A full invasion was not yet possible, but there would still be a steady stream of invaders.

Before long, the invaders could outnumber the native inhabitants of this world. By then, a real crisis would begin. However, it did not matter. As long as he was strong enough, everything would be fine.
