Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 267. This Journey, Exterminate the Zhou Family, Like a God Descending

When Lu Yuan laid out this plan earlier, his goal had not merely been to eliminate those Outer Cosmos beings harboring ill intent in one stroke.

He had another purpose as well—to utterly wipe out the Zhou Family.

In all honesty, Lu Yuan did not regard the Zhou family alone as worthy of much concern.

But Zhou Yunqiong, and the Ji CLan standing behind her, were another matter entirely.

Rather than allowing them to remain unchecked, it was better to deal with them in advance.

Just nice, the five old men before him now appeared to be core figures of the Zhou Family. There might still be more useful information to pry out of them.

So, he said nothing further. He simply released his full pressure without reservation and looked at the five of them.

”A miscalculation on our part. We never expected that you would emerge uninjured, and even break through further, stepping into the Sage Realm.”

”We know why you left us alive. You want more information about the Zhou Family.”

”Just kill us. We’ll say nothing.”

The five elders were no fools.

They were only at the Golden Body Realm. Even with Sage Weapons protecting them, that amounted to nothing before the man standing here.

More than ten thousand Outer Cosmos beings had already died. There was no way they could possibly hold out. The only reason they were still alive was because they still had some value.

But they were the core of the Zhou Family. Their loyalty was beyond question. To them, death meant little. As long as their young miss remained alive and the Zhou Family endured, that was enough.

Lu Yuan did not grow angry. Instead, with a calm expression, he spoke slowly, ”So you do have some backbone. I had originally thought I might learn something from you regarding Zhou Yunqiong and the Ji Clan. To think that I had underestimated you. Seems like there is a reason that the Zhou Family survived this long.”

”Of course. Our Zhou Family—”

Those few words filled the five elders with pride. They were just about to say more.

But Lu Yuan had already run out of patience.

With a casual wave of his hand, five bolts of thunder descended directly from the heavens.

Pfft—

In an instant, the bodies of the five old men split apart, and they died.

Nothing was left behind except the Sage Weapons in their hands.

Naturally, Lu Yuan collected those items.

After all, the Great Luo Sword Embryo had not advanced in quite some time. With Sage Weapons as nourishment, it ought to be able to improve at least somewhat.

After doing all of this, he walked through the air and returned to the area outside the Mount Tai Trials Academy.

There, the higher officials and the Awakened who had rushed over were all gathered.

None of them spoke. They were still staring into the distance.

Just moments ago, three Void Sages and over ten thousand Outer Cosmos beings had stood there.

None of them were weak.

But now?

They were all gone. Even their blood had been evaporated dry by the Great Sun’s Furnace.

When the humans saw Lu Yuan gradually approaching from the distant sky, each of them swallowed involuntarily.

After some time, someone broke the silence and shouted, ”King Lu is invincible! The Human Sovereign is invincible!”

”King Lu is invincible! The Human Sovereign is invincible!”

”King Lu is invincible! The Human Sovereign is invincible!”

Everyone joined in.

This was the true powerhouse nurtured by Earth itself.

This was the man who had repeatedly protected countless living beings and possessed immeasurable merit.

He truly lived up to the title ”Human Sovereign.”

Yet Lu Yuan was momentarily taken aback.

He did not comment. He merely went to Elder Ji’s side, gave a few brief instructions, and then added, ”The title Human Sovereign is too weighty. Have them avoid using that form of address when possible.”

He understood the fervor of the Awakened and had no intention of dousing it.

He simply felt that Human Sovereign was not an appropriate title.

After saying this, he took a single step and rose into the air.

”King Lu, where are you going?” Elder Yun asked. Everything should have been settled by now.

Lu Yuan merely replied in a calm voice, ”To exterminate the Zhou Family.”

Then, he raised a hand and slowly drew it across the void.

A spatial rift appeared.

No one knew where it led.

Lu Yuan lifted his foot and stepped directly into it.

This was the power of the Sage Realm—tearing open the void, akin to a shifting technique.

As for the Zhou Family’s location, he had already gathered that information long ago. He knew exactly where they were.

When the Awakened saw Lu Yuan leave, all of them were briefly stunned.

At last, Elder Ji stepped forward. He moved to calm the crowd. After all, how could such a minor matter require King Lu to personally intervene?

***

Within the mountains and forests stood a vast complex of ancient-style buildings. Figures could be seen moving about inside from time to time, all of them Awakened.

These were the Zhou Family’s core members, from both the older generation and the younger.

After all, in the old era, the Zhou Family’s Wuzhou Group had been a true giant, and was immensely powerful.

Their influence had spread across many regions. It was only later, after they had become enemies with Lu Yuan, that they chose to withdraw.

Otherwise, in the new era, the Zhou Family would still have been one of the great powers. It would have surpassed even Skygod Technologies.

But now, the atmosphere within the Zhou Family was visibly tense.

The patriarch, Zhou Xingquan, was pacing back and forth outside the main courtyard.

Earlier, he had already received word that the Outer Cosmos beings had gathered at Mount Tai. Surely their next step would be to completely crush the officials and kill Lu Yuan.

Yet so much time had passed, but there was still no news.

Did something go wrong?

A sense of foreboding suddenly rose in Zhou Xingquan’s mind. But very quickly, he dismissed it as impossible.

He knew the strength of the official authorities well enough. Without Lu Yuan, they were nothing before those Outer Cosmos beings.

His concerns were likely unnecessary.

With that, Zhou Xingquan calmed down. He looked toward the distant forest and the Zhou Family descendants moving about.

These people would become the Zhou Family’s talents of the future.

However, at that very moment, an indescribable and mysterious aura suddenly descended from the sky.

The mountains and forests fell deathly silent.

All the Zhou Family members, Zhou Xingquan included, instinctively raised their heads.

Booom!

The next instant, the sky began to tremble and thunder roared.

A tear opened in the void. From within it, a tall young man abruptly stepped out. Golden vital qi surged from his body, while bolts of thunder danced around him.

Like a heavenly god, he had descended upon the Zhou Family’s hidden domain.

”Lu... Lu Yuan? It’s Lu Yuan? He didn’t die?”

The moment Zhou Xingquan saw that figure, he froze. Then his soul began to tremble.

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, but in the end, all of them turned to fear.

Lu Yuan was not dead.

And he had come directly to the Zhou Family.

It’s over.

Elsewhere, all the Zhou Family disciples also saw that divine figure in the sky.

Lu Yuan stood beneath the blazing sun, walking upon the void, his gaze indifferent. Overwhelming pressure blanketed every surrounding region.

Rumble—

A Sage’s aura descended.

Below, the mountains shook, and the earth began to tremble.

He seemed like the Celestial Emperor himself as he slowly raised a hand.

Boom!

All the buildings split apart, then began to collapse.

The forests rustled violently.

Farther away, the ferocious beasts sensed that terrifying aura and fled for their lives in utter panic.

”Run!”

Zhou Xingquan finally reacted and shouted loudly.

Lu Yuan had come for one purpose only—to exterminate the Zhou Family.

He panicked completely and urged his clansmen to flee.

Unfortunately...

It was already too late.
