Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 250. The Contingency, Powerhouses From Ancient Times, Shaking the Galaxy

Every living creature felt that aura the instant it appeared.

The twelve Lesser Sages hovering in outer space felt it more than anyone. A boundless aura materialized between the Earth and the moon, and it flooded the void with a force none of them had ever encountered before. Their guts churned in unease as a sense of foreboding gripped their very souls.

The aura froze even space itself. The Lesser Sages found themselves locked in place, unable to twitch even a single muscle.

The light rushing out of the Yongzhou Cauldron became brighter and brighter until it bathed the moon in light, creating an unbelievable sight.

The runes crumbling under the combined assault of the Immortals and their ancestral planets suddenly went still. Then, those golden runes came alive and gathered once more.

The entire solar system trembled. The frozen space released its grip a moment later, and all twelve Lesser Sages could move again. Yet in that same instant, every one of them revealed faces full of undisguised horror.

The repaired golden runes converged to create several towering silhouettes. Their features were impossible to see, and their true nature seemed to be a mystery beyond comprehension.

The moment they appeared, however, their aura wrapped around Earth, acting like an invisible shield. The beam of energy descending from the ancestral planets slammed into that barrier, but it stopped dead in its tracks.

Each silhouette stood with their hands clasped behind their back, and they were so massive that they were bigger than some of the ancestral planets.

”Are they... the ancient powerhouses of the Milky Way Starfield?”

”They must be the ones who made the Separation of Heaven and Earth.”

”So the contingency plan involved awakening them and having them protect this world once again?”

The twelve Lesser Sages stared in shock as they finally understood what had happened. The human, Lu Yuan, had somehow managed to manifest the mighty figures from Earth’s glory days. How had he done it?

They found it absurd, but when they recalled Lu Yuan’s attitude earlier, it finally made sense why he was so arrogant and confident. None of them could have known that he could summon the sages of antiquity to protect Earth once again.

Now, the real question was this. How would the Immortals respond?

The twelve Lesser Sages knew full well that they themselves had no place in this conflict. However, the starfields of the Outer Cosmos would never abandon their invasion of Earth simply because of this setback.

Before long, an unprecedented battle would unfold.

In the distance, Uncle Jiang frowned. The Little Shennong Cauldron bobbed restlessly at his side.

Seven silhouettes had manifested so far, but the sages of antiquity who once lived on Earth certainly numbered far more than that. More importantly, the one who had spearheaded the creation of the Separation of Heaven and Earth was none other than Emperor Zhuanxu, one of the Five Emperors himself.

Despite that, he was absent. However, the reason behind it was simple. First of all, Lu Yuan was too weak. Secondly, he possessed only one of the Nine Tripod Cauldrons—the Yongzhou Cauldron.

There was only so much a single cauldron could do.

If they wanted to rely on the sages of antiquity to repel the invaders from the Outer Cosmos and destroy the Immortals’ plans, then Lu Yuan had to last until then.

The living beings of Earth witnessed what was unfolding above them. No one understood the full picture, but one thing was certain—someone was protecting this world, and it seemed to be... King Lu.

After all, he was the only Awakened out there in outer space.

On the surface of the moon, Lu Yuan’s complexion had grown pale and weak, but the sight of those sages manifesting above him finally allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief.

However, a steady stream of energy was being exhausted from him before being dumped into the Yongzhou Cauldron. If he wanted the manifestations to last, the sacrifices had to continue.

It was difficult, and the pressure on him was enormous. Still, he chose to endure.

Far away, the Immortals noticed that something had interrupted them and that they had failed to destroy the barrier. Once again, Earth was being protected by the Separation of Heaven and Earth.

However, the Immortals appeared unfazed.

Their flickering figures stood before their respective ancestral planets as an even more powerful aura seeped out of them.

Fortunately, this was not a full-scale battle. The Immortals merely sought to force open a passageway. If their goal were to obliterate the planet, their attacks would shake the entire galaxy.

The response of the Immortals and the old monsters behind them made the beam of energy cascading down on Earth become even stronger and overwhelming.

Lu Yuan saw that and poured even more power into the Yongzhou cauldron. He knew clearly that he could not maintain this for long. Activating the Separation of Heaven and Earth through the Yongzhou Cauldron demanded a staggering amount of energy, and he was just too weak—a mere Venerable King.

If he were a Sage, things would be far more manageable.

Unfortunately, it was too late for any of that. All Lu Yuan could do was push himself to his limits. Of course, he also knew that even the Immortals could not do this forever.

The distance between them was too vast, and those Immortals weren’t indefatigable.

Boom!

In the far reaches of space, the ancestral planets shuddered violently, and the energy they unleashed merged into a roaring river that rushed toward Earth.

In response, the sages of antiquity formed from golden runes and sustained by Lu Yuan’s sacrifice took a single step forward. What they had left behind was merely a sliver of will, nothing more, but even that will was terrifyingly powerful.

The roaring river of energy and the endless tide of golden runes collided, generating an explosion that was truly beyond comparison. A dazzling light spread outward like a tidal wave, engulfing the entire solar system.

The projection of the ancestral planets shuddered and flickered in rapid succession.

On Earth, every living soul gazed up at the sky, but all they could see was a stretch of scorching light. This was a battle between the Immortals of the Outer Cosmos and the ancient sages of humanity.

More precisely, it was a battle over the Separation of Heaven and Earth.

Everyone was on edge. If the defenders failed, Earth would be thrown wide open, and every living creature in this world would fall into dire straits.

Elder Ji, Zhu Qingyu, and the others felt their hearts grow heavy at the sight, but there was nothing they could do. Not a single thing.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Overhead, violent explosions echoed one after another. They sounded like thunder, but they were actually the sound of two formidable energies grinding away at each other.

In outer space, the twelve Lesser Sages watched as those towering silhouettes, covered in golden runes, stopped the combined might of the Immortals from the Outer Cosmos. Disbelief gripped them all at the sight.

It had been so many years since then, so how come the contingency plan left behind by Earth’s sages was still so formidable?

Earth was indeed the birthplace of the ancient Celestial Court. Even in decline, its foundations remained deep beyond imagination. At least, this was what all twelve Lesser Sages felt at the unfolding scene before them.

Boom!

Just then, the golden runes flickered, and the silhouettes of the sages briefly dimmed. It all happened in an instant, but the brief interruption was enough for the Immortals to seize the upper hand.

The twelve Lesser Sages turned toward the moon at once.

”That Lu Yuan can’t hold on much longer!”
